So I've been listening to Ella Henderson's album recently and 'Ghost' really is the best thing on there and one of the best singles of the year so far. I'd also say it's one of the best pop debut singles for many years. What songs would you consider to be the best pop debuts? These are the 5 I instantly thought of.
Britney Spears - …Baby One More Time Ella Henderson - Ghost Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful Spice Girls - Wannabe |

All The Things She Said will hardly ever been beaten as debuts. I know that sounds like loon talk but the production, structure and impact was awesome.

I have to agree with 'All The Things She Said', amazing song and had a massive impact. Of course Britney too.
And I have to add 'Once' by Diana Vickers. |

She'd released low-key stuff in Canada before 'Call Me Maybe', kind of in the same way that most people think of Jagged Little Pill as being Alanis Morissette's debut album when it isn't.

Yeah Carly had four singles before Call Me Maybe from her debut album. Similar in a way to Delta Goodrem releasing I Don't Care, a relative flop and a completely different sound to anything she did later, before her commercial breakthrough hit Born To Try.
