What would you say has been the most memorable sporting failure that you've seen and why?
For me: Lewis Hamilton in the gravel in China 2007. Lindsay Jacobellis Turin 2006 (sorry for the bad quality) Don Fox miss 1968 Challenge Cup Final: |

Who can forget this fail from Steven Gerrard? it still makes me laugh to this day and the fact that as a result of this Liverpool still haven't won the league since MC Hammer was doing the running man in his baggy trousers makes it even funnier

Scotland at the 1978 World Cup is one of the most famous of all time.
In my lifetime, its hard to know where to begin with England, but 2010 stands out for me. |

Italy not qualifying for the World Cup has to be quite a big failure?

Well there's just been a 400m heat in the World Indoor Championships in which everyone's been disqualified. That seems like a pretty big failure.

One was disqualified for a false start and the rest for line infringements. Must be the first time that has happened. Bizarre stuff: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/43261430 |
