Georgia are returning to a proper national final for 2017 after internally selecting this year. Submissions are open as we speak!
https://escxtra.com/2016/11/15/georgia-anno...tails-for-2017/ I remember some Georgian national finals in the past have really suffered due to low submissions (pretty sure they got a grand total of like 10 in 2012 and they all made the national final...) and therefore low quality but their last attempt - in 2015 - was very solid and post-revamp Nina Sublatti was a fantastic entry and probably Georgia's strongest entry since 2010/11? I remain optimistic and I presume they have G:son ready to revamp seeing as he has been involved in 2013, 2015 and 2016! And surely Georgia will have the taste for success after their record-breaking third Junior Eurovision victory? If they get hosting rights they will be doing some promo for that in Kyiv next May, so I'm sure they'll want a good entry representing them in the adult contest at the same time! |

Not the best song in the selection being a Ylva & Linda song! (Needs a G:son makeover but still)
Although this aural treat runs it close and I'd very much be down for it to represent Georgia. |

That 'Me Da Shen' video is like some kind of ex-Soviet Bollywood. Yes please! *.*

That Ylva & Linda song is now at the centre of our first song scandal of the year! Turns out they also gave it to a girl to perform in the Ukrainian Junior Eurovision selection last summer therefore pre-dating the September 1st deadline. The song didn't make it out of their national semi-final...
Thankfully GPB have already responded by saying that should Elene win with that song, she will still be the Georgian representative but a new song will be given to her for Kyiv. Finally Ylva & Linda's "send a song to everyone everywhere" tactics coming back to haunt them. There's also accusations from people involved with the Ukrainian JESC girl that Ylva & Linda demanded money for exclusive rights etc which they have yet to deny... |

TOMORROW'S NATIONAL FINAL... GEORGIA National Final 20th January 2017 Begins at 4pm in the UK, 5pm Central European Time or 8pm in Georgia. Programme is scheduled to last 3 hours. Watch the selection via the official GPB webcast or the official YouTube stream. Running Order 01 | Giorgi Chikovani - Make It Right 02 | Brandon Stone & Eteri Beriashvili - Heyo Song 03 | Rati Durglishvili - Why 04 | Andria Gvelesiani - Revolutionise 05 | Alisa Danelia - We Are Eternity 06 | Nutsa Buzaladze - White Horses Run 07 | Maliibu - We Live Once 08 | EOS - Urban Signs 09 | Dima Kobeshavidze - Scream 10 | Trio Mandili - Me da shen 11 | Tako Gachechiladze - Keep the Faith 12 | Nino Basharuli - The Song of Love 13 | Elene Mikiashvili - Fighter 14 | Misha Sulukhia - Magic 15 | Mariko Lezhava - Light It Up 16 | The Mins - Crime 17 | Sparkle - On the Top 18 | Tornike Kipiani & Giorgi Bolotashvili - You Are My Sunshine 19 | Temo Sajaia - All the Same 20 | Sabina Chantouria - Stranger 21 | Mariam Chachkhiani - Fly 22 | Asea Sool - Nature 23 | Nanuka Giogobiani - Let the Sunshine In 24 | Davit Shanidze - Mtveris katsi 25 | Oto Nemsadze & Group Limbo - Dear God Voting The winner will be decided by a combination of an international jury vote and a televote. The international jury will determine 60% of the final scores while the remaining 40% will be determined by the televote. Potential Winners? With no odds and such a large field it is very hard to judge who is favourite to win this. Most of the hype over the past few weeks has centred around The Mins, Nutsa Buzaladze, Rati Durglishvili, Sabina Chantouria, Tako Gachechiladze and Trio Mandili so perhaps they are the performances to watch out for tomorrow! |

Some clips from rehearsals are showing quite an impressive stage. This whole thing is definitely all about GPB showing the EBU that they can host Junior Eurovision this year I think, and they are certainly proving they can!

I've followed this as much as I can while being on a train and so on, but considering they've basically put every single submission into this national final it hasn't been *too* bad and there's a good few songs with potential!
I think I'm team Mariko and Nutsa from the ones I've heard, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the rock bands win. |

I'd be happy with any of a Nutsa, Tako and Mariko win really. Sparkle, Me da Shen and Heyo Song are all fab too.

Very good winner in Tako, fantastic voice although her song and Lindita's are as identical as you can get considering the different languages so maybe female bond ballads are going to be the thing for 2017?

Good winner, she's a great singer but like Ryan said, it's basically Lindita's song but in English.
Probably having RUSSIA INVADES GEORGIA as part of the backdrop helped her too I imagine. |

Fun fact, this is Tako's 2nd time winning a Georgian selection - she was part of Stephane & 3G in 2009 but of course never made it to Moscow...

This has certainly got potential (and if we're honest, there's an inevitable G:Son remix coming further along the line here) and it might not even be in the same semi/half of the semi from Albania so who knows what this'll be up against.

I just got kinda blown away by that. Georgia have quite the little run of inspiring and exciting entries going lately.
Easily the best so far. |

Tako has changed her name for Eurovision, she will now be going by Tamara. Perhaps as a response to Wiwibloggs constantly taking the mick out of her name in their videos?

Revamp:
(It's a live performance but I think it's playback, not because Tamara's vocals are perfect in this (as they usually are anyway) but because the sound quality is so good. |
