as much as I do love it, this round for me is pretty easily Lover. SN/1989/Rep are way stronger and Red has higher highs.
I do love Lover and it is my fave album of 2019 but I do feel its one which I will love more over time rather than being completely instant (a bit like Red where I was bit meh on songs like Starlight & Treacherous on release but both are now major faves). For me Lover has: 3 songs I never return to (LB, DBATC, IFTYE), 2 great singles but I already probs return to them less than singles from previous era's (Me, YNTCD) and 5 songs that I do really love but honestly couldn't tell you the last time I listened to them (Miss Americana, Paper Rings, False God, Afterglow & INTHAF). So based on that it has to be Lover for me. I also feel I'm a bit harsher on this album as it is just very best of the last few era's (as much as I adore Cornelia Street, it's delicate pt. 2 etc) rather than giving something rly original (SN - the self-written & so improved, red the lead to country-pop, 1989's pure-pop magic and Rep's dark-pop) whereas Lover kinda feels like a greatest hits round-up. so as much as I stan, I was hoping for a new-direction for this era like disco or folk or rock or something and we didn't get it, so I do feel like I will love Lover even more after we get TS8 and I can look back at this album more retrospectively. |

Speak Now for just now, either that or Red. The other 3 are her clear top 3 for me

Reputation is the weakest left as a whole album but it has higher highs on it than what Speak Now does.
I Did Something Bad, Don’t Blame Me and Getaway Car are all better than the singles on that album bar Delicate which is stunning. But yeah it was a bit try hard at times she’s better when she’s just herself |
