It's 2 weeks on top for the symphonic Killing Moon, just holding off Zedd grabbing his first chart-topper, and Katy Perry her 4th, so she has to make do with equalling 2008's Hot 'n' Cold instead at 2. There's big climb to 4 for Jungle, their highest chart position to date, and Bob Sinclar to 7, beating his peak of 9 in 2006 with World Hold On. Robbie of course has never stopped having top 10's in 26 years, with Take That or solo. Khalid gets his 2nd top 20 of the year already, and Sigrid gets her second ever with big climbs. CHVRCHES grab a top 30 with a hfty move upwards, boyband Why Don't We go Bieber-soundalike and do it quite well into the 40, Pet Shop Boys get a 5th top 40 of the week, while highest new entry is from paloma's deluxe version, of the album which thankfully I didn't buy or I would have been pissed off at belated tracks being released. The Monkees get 2 new (old) entries following the death of Peter Tork - For Pete's Sake is the closing credits song to the ground-breaking 60's TV show, written by Peter, and Your Aunty Grizelda is a Peter-sung quirky track which in the UK was the soundtrack to a sequence in the horror parody episode I Was A Teenage Monster. For some reason the UK totally messed around with the songs in UK-screened episodes, but in this case it worked much better than the US original. I recorded the episode on reel-to-reel tape back in the day, and was most disappointed to find the US box set has a lot of wrong songs in the wrong episodes (for my boyhood memories). P!nk gets a BRITS boost this week and wham! she's back in chart fashion, while never dropping out of being in chart fashion in my charts - some of the last album's tracks were well-worthy of single release and counted in these charts - whcih is what really counts 1 1 1 2 THE KILLING MOON (SYMPHONIC VERSION) Echo & The Bunnymen 340000 2 20 2 2 365 Zedd & Katy Perry 135000 3 2 2 5 SWAN SONG Dua Lipa 273000 4 39 4 2 BEST 54 (ALL GOOD NOW) Jungle 82100 5 8 5 6 CANDLELIGHT Jack Savoretti 214200 6 3 3 6 STARTED OUT Georgia 327200 7 34 7 2 ELECTRO ROMANTICO Bob Sinclar featuring Robbie Williams 67600 8 4 1 9 SERMON Mercury Rev featuring Margo Price 508100 9 6 4 5 JUICE Lizzo 252000 10 5 5 5 TRAMPOLINE SHAED 216000 11 7 7 5 BETTER THAN ME Ten Tonnes 158000 12 16 12 3 WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THE RICH? Hi John!
Great week! I love to see P!nk's new single on your chart! Also, it seems you are dedicating a song to the chartster Pete hehe. Will also give a listen to Paloma Faith's new song! |
