#100: Transformers: Age of Extinction Gross: $1,091,405,097 Rank on all-time list: #10 Rotten Tomatoes score: 18% Rates: -5, -5, -5, 7, 1 = -7 People who rated it: 5 Final score: -7/5*10 = -14 I think it's very clear no one who voted is Chinese. (Age Of Extinction is the highest-grossing film ever there) The highest-grossing film of 2014 comes in dead last here, even scoring negative points. That's how bad it is. And there's a fifth one coming, though it won't be directed by Michael Bay. #99: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Gross: $698,491,347 Rank on all-time list: #73 Rotten Tomatoes score: 49% Rates: -5, 1, 2, 5, -5 = -2 People who rated it: 5 Final score: -2/5*10 = -4 The only film in this section to not be a Transformers film, Eclipse also lands in the negatives, ending up with a score 19 points lower than the next lowest film in the franchise on this rate. The film came out only 7 months after its predecessor, New Moon, and was the highest-grossing film on the franchise in North America but the lowest-grossing, after the original, worldwide. #98: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Gross: $1,123,794,079 Rank on all-time list: #7 Rotten Tomatoes score: 36% Rates: 0, -5, -5, 7, 2 = -1 People who rated it: 5 Final score: -1/5*10 = -2 The highest-grossing film in its franchise (and in this section), Dark Of The Moon, like its successor Age Of Extinction, finishes with a negative score. Admittedly it's a better film than its predecessor, but still, it's not a good one. #97: Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Gross: $836,303,693 Rank on all-time list: #41 Rotten Tomatoes score: 19% Rates: -5, -5, -5, 7, 8, 1 = 1 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 1/6*10 = 1.67 Despite receiving more -5 than Eclipse and Dark Of The Moon, Revenge Of The Fallen managed to muster up 2 good scores, and a 1, to avoid finishing with a sub-zero result. On this rate, it seems that every instalment ends up with a lower score than its predecessor. #96: Transformers Gross: $709,709,780 Rank on all-time list: #70 Rotten Tomatoes score: 57% Rates: 1, 5, -5, -5, -5, 8, 8, 4 = 11 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 11/8*10 = 13.75 The film that started the franchise, Transformers is the only film here that actually came close to being "Fresh" on critic site Rotten Tomatoes, and while its performance here is anything but remarkable, unlike Revenge Of The Fallen, it ends up very easily in the positive zone. So, we've only gone through 5 films and already all of the Transformers films are out. That's how bad they are. Anyway, if you're disappointed that an entire franchise is already eliminated, beware because another one's three remaining films are all heading to the door imminently. |

#95: The Twilight Saga: New Moon Gross: $709,827,462 Rank on all-time list: #69 Rotten Tomatoes score: 28% Rates: -5, 5, 1, 8, 5, -5 = 9 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 9/6*10 = 15 Twilight again with the second film in the series. The series isn't doing very well. #94: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Gross: $712,171,856 Rank on all-time list: #68 Rotten Tomatoes score: 24% Rates: 2.5, 1, 4, 5, 0 = 12.5 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 12.5/5*10 = 25 The lowest film to not have received any -5, Breaking Dawn is the lowest-ranked film of the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes. My favourite part was A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Much better than the film. #93: 2012 Gross: $769,679,473 Rank on all-time list: #54 Rotten Tomatoes score: 39% Rates: -5, -5, 6, 5, 5, 5, 9, 4 = 24 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 24/8*10 = 30 As the poster says, we were warned that on December 21, 2012, the world will end. And when that day came... nothing happened. Nothing. Well, actually Gangnam Style hit one billion views on YouTube that day... oh wait, that's what the prophecy meant! The world of music would end when that trash would hit one billion views on YouTube! It makes much more sense now. (Sorry, I couldn't resist) #92: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Gross: $1,027,044,677 Rank on all-time list: #16 Rotten Tomatoes score: 57% Rates: 7, 6, 2, -5, 1, 7, 10, 8, -5 = 31 People who rated it: 9 Final score: 31/9*10 = 34.44 When this film was announced, all Star Wars were jumping in excitement to see it... and some left feeling bitterly disappointed. However, while it is probably the least good Star Wars movie, it's not actually half bad. #91: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Gross: $829,685,377 Rank on all-time list: #42 Rotten Tomatoes score: 49% Rates: 1, 1, 7, 6, 4 = 19 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 19/5*10 = 38 The last film in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is also the highest-ranking in this rate (yes, all four of them are already gone). |

Star Wars is great and should at least be in the top 20
2012 is a great film also, why is it so low? I saw Twilight once, it was "OK" but I could see it again |

Not the Twilight movies crashing out
Breaking Dawn: Part 1 should be the lowest, easily the worst / most boring out of them. Hard to separate the rest, but Part 2 was a great conclusion. |

The Phantom Menace isn't THAT bad, agreed. Just it's not the original Star Wars, and plus everyone just hated Jar Jar (apart from me!)

#90: Men In Black 3 Gross: $624,026,776 Rank on all-time list: #90 Rotten Tomatoes score: 69% Rates: 4.5, 6, 1, 8, 3 = 22.5 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 22.5/5*10 = 45 The first Men In Black, when released in 1997, became a massive hit and even spawned one of the best-selling singles of 1997. The 2002 sequel however was largely reviled. Ten years later, we have Men In Black 3, which is much better than the second instalment, but doesn't hold a candle to the original. #89: The Matrix Reloaded Gross: $742,128,461 Rank on all-time list: #64 Rotten Tomatoes score: 73% Rates: 7, -5, 6, 2, 6, 8, 10 = 34 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 34/7*10 = 48.57 The first Matrix was brilliant, no question about it. It was fantastic. Four years later, The Matrix Reloaded is released, and significantly outgrosses its predecessor. However, today, along with The Matrix Revolutions, it is now considered as to have ruined the legacy of the original film. Was Reloaded nearly as good as the first film? No. But was it really that bad? No. It wasn't great, but it was decent enough. The third film however, well, that's a different story. #88: The Passion Of The Christ Gross: $611,899,930 Rank on all-time list: #95 Rotten Tomatoes score: 49% Rates: 6.5, 7, 6, 5, 0 = 24.5 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 24.5/5*10 = 49 In early 2004, it would have been crazy to think a epic biblical drama film directed by Mel Gibson would become the highest-grossing R-rated film ever in North America and one of the 100 highest-grossing films worldwide to this day. But that's what happened. #87: Mamma Mia! Gross: $609,841,637 Rank on all-time list: #96 Rotten Tomatoes score: 54% Rates: 8, 15, -5, 3, 6, 4, 5 = 36 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 36/7*10 = 51.43 (In the event of a tie, the highest-grossing film ranks higher) ABBA are definitely one of the greatest groups ever. They even got a film based on their music! Oh wait, it's this one. #86: Hancock Gross: $624,386,746 Rank on all-time list: #89 Rotten Tomatoes score: 41% Rates: 6, 7, 4, 1, 6, 8, 4 = 36 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 36/7*10 = 51.43 Another Will Smith film in this section, Hancock sees him play a vigilante superhero whose reckless actions cost the city of Los Angeles millions of dollars. |

#85: Spider-Man 3 Gross: $890,871,626 Rank on all-time list: #34 Rotten Tomatoes score: 63% Rates: 6.5, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 5, 10, 7, 2 = 52.5 People who rated it: 10 Final score: 52.5/10*10 = 52.5 The conclusion to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, it outgrossed its predecessors but is held in much lower esteem than them today. #84: Despicable Me 2 Gross: $970,761,885 Rank on all-time list: #23 Rotten Tomatoes score: 74% Rates: 10, 10, 4, -5, 7, 7 = 33 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 33/6*10 = 55 Right now I am not happy. At all. Despicable Me 2 coming eighty-fourth? Personally, this is the first film I'm disappointed to see go. #83: Independence Day Gross: $817,400,891 Rank on all-time list: #45 Rotten Tomatoes score: 60% Rates: 5, -5, 6, 7, 7, 10, 8, 7 = 45 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 45/8*10 = 56.25 A Roland Emmerich disaster flick from 1996, Independence Day ends up in eighty-third. Also, a sequel is set for release next year. #82: Iron Man 2 Gross: $623,933,331 Rank on all-time list: #91 Rotten Tomatoes score: 73% Rates: 7.5, 0, 8, 6, 6, 7, 5 = 39.5 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 39.5/7*10 = 56.43 After the success of the original Iron Man, a sequel came just two years later. Its gross wasn't a massive improvement over the first film, and it is less popular than the first film, so Iron Man 3 would have been in the same range, but thanks to The Avengers, Iron Man 3 made almost double of Iron Man 2's gross. #81: Man Of Steel Gross: $668,048,518 Rank on all-time list: #79 Rotten Tomatoes score: 55% Rates: 6, 7, 5, 5, 6, 6 = 35 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 35/6*10 = 58.33 The Superman franchise has had its fair share of movies which were anything but super. The Quest for Peace couldn't succeed in its quest to be a good movie, while Superman Returned with a pretty bad flick. Man Of Steel is a bit in the middle here. It's much better than the two aforementioned titles, and Supergirl, probably about even with the third film, but not nearly as good as the first two films. |
