Chart Analysis

Avicii spends a second week at #1 with "Lonely Together", and seventh week altogether as an artist since the release of the EP. Once again he holds the entirety of the top 3 with "Without You" and "Friend Of Mine" remaining at #2-3. In fact, all of the top five this week are non-movers, with Sofi Tukker at #4 for a second week with "F*ck They" and CamelPhat and Elderbrook at #5 for a second week with "Cola". Some movement in the top 10 comes from MK whose "17" climbs to #6 this week. Post Malone and 21 Savage enter the top 10 with "rockstar" following its debut at #12 last week. It climbs to #7. Freejak & Safety First are a non-mover at #10 with "Closer Than Close" following its ascent to the top 10 last week. Likewise Sofi Tukker remain at #11 with "Best Friend" on its second week in the chart.

DJ Licious' "I Hear You Calling" took a while to make its way into the top 20, but it eventually did, and then climbed all the way to #3. The hype from that has allowed his latest single and official follow-up "I Can't Stop" to have an easier start, shooting straight into the chart at #12 to easily become this week's highest new entry. He is still in the top 10 with the former single, which drops to #8 this week.

Lika Morgan had one of last year's biggest hits with her Croatia Squad collaboration "Make Your Move", which spent 5 weeks at #2. Subsequent follow-ups have failed to reach the top 40.. until now as "Holding On" climbs straight into the top 20 at #19. Also making a large jump into the top 20 is the new single from Above & Beyond. "My Own Hymn" becomes the group's 7th top 40 hit as it enters at #20. Their most recent hit was "Another Chance" which made #7 at the beginning of this year. It is also the 4th hit for featured vocalist Zoe Johnston, though she is yet to score a hit outside of featuring on A&B singles.

"All Stars" makes a re-appearance in the top 40 for Martin Solveig and ALMA, with attention moving to the song as "Chasing Highs" drops. It previously peaked at #29 but it smashes that peak already, climbing to #27. ALMA also has a new song out, "Phases" which makes the lower end of the top 100. At the bottom end of the top 40 new peaks come for Phantom Sage (up to #30) and Yxng Bane (up to #39). Jax Jones falls to #40 with "You Don't Know Me", coincidentally the same week it spends its 40th consecutive weak in the top 40 (41st non-consecutively). Will next week be when the song finally drops out? Will we see dropouts for other long-runners such as "Symphony", "1UL", "Rollin" and "Mask Off" soon? As we get into the start of Quarter 4, perhaps the chart could receive a much needed shake-up.

Making top 100 entries this week outside the top 40 are Kideko, Big Shaq, Dutch Force (our BJSC entry), Morrissesy, Jorja Smith, ALMA, Antony & Cleopatra and Craig David. Look here in future weeks to see if any of those climb into the top region.

yep it finally made my top 100 now that we're into the next contest, good choon.

I think Avicii will be #1 for a long time here. I'd be surprised if 'Lonely Together' leaves the #1 spot anytime soon actually, should get at least 5 weeks at #1 like 'Without You' did.

I didn't expect DJ Licious to come back with another top banger actually but he has, should be another big top 10 for him.
Lika Morgan is great too, her 'Make Your Move' was one of my faves of last year, sadly was a BJSC flop finishing bottom 3 in the final.

I think I heard that new DJ Licious song this weekend, sounded good & probably prefer it to I Hear You Calling actually

I find All Stars a bit meh compared to his past few big tracks, wonder if it will become a UK hit in August 2018

The Big Shaq track is actually amazing, think it'll be a big new entry for me this week!

Dum Dum just missing the Top 40! Hopefully it'll climb in next week, it is a decent tune and I'm hoping it can get Kideko another hit!

Nice to see The Spectre climbing - it does seem like a very accessible song but it's not on the level of his other instrumentals for me unfortunately

Phases is pretty catchy but Montana ruins it for me unfortunately Still hoping it can become a decent sized follow-up for her!

I still listen to your Spotify playlist regularly and I love the new discoveries I am making, I’m sure more of your entries will pop up on my chart in the future.

So there’s a different Avicii song at the top since I last visited, and I can certainly see why you now like it more than Without You.

It should definitely make my top 40 soon. Would be great if it could take off properly soon, I'm surprised how poorly it's done so far considering Tinie Tempah is on it but I suppose he's well past his peak now.
It's the best thing he's done in a while for me, should be his first top 40 since 'Alone' which was last year.
I don't mind the Montana feature though I do think it's a bit pointless. Hope it does something in the chart soon.

From the first week I had a good feeling that 'Lonely Together' would end up overtaking the other two, but those were more instant.
I reckon 'Cola' will overtake 'F*ck They' and possibly 'Friend Of Mine' too, but it could potentially get leapfrogged by '17' and 'rockstar' this or next week, so it probably won't ever make the top 3.
Cool, I'm loving '17' a lot right now too, though it likely won't make #1 for me. I'd say the biggest contender to knock Avicii off at this time is Post Malone, unless Avicii's 2nd EP comes soon.
Above & Beyond do make very good trance music, I recommend!
