Those ratings are so so bad for X Factor that it can only mean one thing. AXE EASTENDERS!! Shame viewers were so low. I caught Lizzo's promo on it. Shame she didn't get more viewers for a bigger boost.

The Queen’s Speech gets such high overnight ratings because the antiquated system for measuring overnight ratings , which involves sampling about 10,000 UK households with a box that tracks what people watch on terrestrial TV, has an inbuilt bias towards shows that skew towards an older audience, and to programmes that are more likely to be ‘event’ TV. I imagine when the +7 consolidated ratings come in, its ratings won’t have moved as much, and will be taken over by programmes that people didn’t feel the need to watch live.

I’m also assuming The Queen’s Speech accounts for all broadcasts on BBC, ITV and Sky?

Just shows that there needs to be a real shake up in Christmas TV scheduling! Of course Gavin & Stacey was hugely hyped anyway and it would be hard to recapture that with any programme but for it to be more than double the next highest rated programme (disregarding The Queen as that is a mainstay!) shows there needs to be a lot more creativity.
