'Without You' is a cover - originally by Badfinger - but Mariah's version is based on Nilsson's cover. For Nilsson it was a transatlantic #1 in the early 70s, and it proved to amazingly successful for Mariah in 1994. It peaked at #3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, but more notably became her first ever UK #1 [/jameela]! It spent 4 weeks at the top here, and went on to sell 470,000 copies (as of 2014). It was a worldwide smash, peaking within the Top 3 in numerous countries, and is regarded as Mariah's biggest hit across Europe.
