Anyone else heard of the new single SHAME by German Girl Band Monrose.

I think it's brilliant and is definatlely worthy of a UK release.
They are Germany's answer to Sugababes.

It is going to be massive all over Europe. Straight in at #1 in Germany, Austria & Switzerland.
It has just been released in other mainland European countries and getting loads of airplay.

Come on UK record companies. Give it a UK release! yahoo.gif

You should try listening to Clea's The Lie which is not only far superior, but was totally ripped off by Monrose.

I like Monrose, but they should try to be successful in their home country Germany for awhile and then go to foreign language countrys like Sarah Connor and US 5 did and Tokio Hotel are planning for 2007.

Monrose are Popstars winners and Popstars bands can be gone very soon. If Monrose will be Germany's Eurovision entry next year and if they are successful there, then it's time to think about an European carrer.

I remember when Hear'Say and Girls Aloud released their debut singles in Germany and nobody had interest in it. The same could happen to Monrose in the UK.

The brilliant Australian popstars band Bardot also flopped in 2001 with the excellent Poison :-(

Thanks to the Pop Activism team, most of Monrose's Discography has been added to Spotify. This includes their previously unavailable 4 albums and many singles.
No Angels, Bro'Sis and A*Teens "Happy New Year" are also amongst other gems added to Spotify today.

Me too. With Steps releasing their new album today, it's like I'm 13 again.
Going to spend the night listening to Steps, Monrose, Bro'Sis, No Angels and even 2 of Jeannette Biedermann's albums were recently remastered and added to Spotify too.

Monrose had a great run. I've always wondered why no UK pop act covered Hot Summer for the British market. It could have been a smash!

It's the same with No Angels. Some of their songs could have easily become UK hits (if covered by a UK act). I know No Angels were hoping to be launched in the UK and they even appeared on GMTV but it never came to anything. Hot Summer could have been big here.

Their debut single did make the UK charts though! At 89, but it was atleast a charting single...

I do find it strange how both them and Monrose not even really tried to break the UK market, but then again, the UK also had their own local girlgroup with Girls Aloud who, after the first album, barely tried anything outside of the UK.

I am, however, super excited their stuff is finally on Spotify. Really took a long time cheer.gif

I'm hoping No Angels Welcome to the Dance eventually also makes it onto Spotify.

Oddly, the majority of their Best af Nylon greatest hits appeared online recently, but a few songs are greyed out in the UK, including Losing A Friend.

I was never wildly into any of the German reality stars' output in terms of following full careers but Daylight In Your Eyes by No Angels is a classic - albeit a rip-off of Ray Of Light from the second verse onwards, and I love Breathe You In by Monrose.

Room 2012's winning song was great, same with Some & Any, but their albums are not that good.

I didn't like "Shame" very much. "Hot Summer" made me a fan of Monrose.

Temptation Vinyl Incoming!

"It's been 15 years since Mandy Capristo, Senna Gammour and Bahar Kizil beat their competition and won the fifth season of Popstar together under the name Monrose. Their debut album "Temptation" was originally released on December 8th, 2006 and immediately reached the top of the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Barely half a year after its release, it had already sold more than 400,000 units, was awarded double platinum and ensured that Monrose became one of the most successful girl groups in Germany. The album features some of their biggest hits, like their debut single "Shame" and "Even Heaven Cries", which shaped a generation of teenagers and young adults at the time. To celebrate this iconic album, the album will be released on vinyl for the first time on March 25, 2022. All songs were remastered and pressed on attractive 180g clear vinyl."
