I like Grown Woman but from the songs we've heard I prefer Standing On the Sun.

XO is definitely the best choice for worldwide smash. I have a feeling it will be properly massive...

YES! OMG YES. I was certain she'd save this until about single 3 (probably because of the other rumours) so to see it serve as the lead single... Amazing. Definitely already one of my favourites from her!

This is such a summer song though, so maybe releasing towards then wasn't a bad idea.

Definitely a good choice, easily the second best on the album ('Pretty Hurts' >>>>), and that video is fab!

Starting to take off on UK charts finally, it's reached a new peak of #24. Hopefully it might get top 20 next week!

I feel like I would like this song more if it was by someone else. I almost think her voice is too good for the song....I know that sounds like a ridiculous comment. It's just the song and its lyrics have a really carefree and ethereal feel, but the way Beyonce does the vocals just seem a bit too heavy and serious to fit.
Like 'Drunk in Love' isn't necessarily a better song, but I feel it works better as a whole package, purely because the way she delivers her vocals click better with the darker production on that song. |
