I know it's an incredibly hard task to compile THE list but please try~
I've had enough of this ESC fan flop status and therefore I'm currently very actively educating myself on the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's of Eurovision. Finding some incredible stuff pretty much in every old contest *.* So will get back to you regarding my faves ever in a few week and maybe months~ |

In recent years for me, there are a few songs in a class of their own. Not necessarily their Eurovision performances, but as songs that I play on iTunes and these would be:
Lena - Satellite Ivi Adamou - La La Love Loreen - Euphoria Getter Jaani - Rockefeller Street Elina Born & Stig Rδsta - Goodbye to Yesterday Molly - Children of the Universe Christina Metaxa - Firefly Those songs are amongst my most played songs ever. And while they might not be my favourite songs ever anymore, they are definitely in a class of their own in regards to my overall Eurovision experience over the years. |

from my wordpress blog, new winner Sweden slots in at 7 and the rest drop a place, the Belgium entry from 2015 also slots into the losers list at 20.
Eurovison is an institution dating back to the 50s. Ive been watching since 1967, the classic year was Abbas winning 1974 when the Top 4all made the UK Top 20, but its reached its peak years with the expansion of countries entering since 2004, and two semi-finals. all those british entries :') Hard to believe but the most successful country in Eurovision in the 20th century, far and away, the UK - not most wins but just look at the run of top 3's - in those days the UK used to send actual stars and hire top songwriters and grab european hits way before the contest had taken place. I'm afraid there was no way to hear non-winners and non-UK entries more than once or twice unless you bought the singles at the current equivalent price of about five pounds/six euros - so you didn't really get to hear them unless you were obsessed enough to buy them. I've never had the time to go back and listen to any tracks that aren't on eurovision compilation cd's but I'm sure there are some real gems I need to hear still... |
