Looks like 2020 could be a huge year in transition on Radio 1 with a new controller forthcoming, so who do you think will leave and move around the schedules?

Scott Mills will leave the station altogether at the end of the year. Katie Thistleton and Cel Spelman promoted to main Friday chart show in the summer.

Two of the Christmas talent hosts will replace Katie and Cel on Life Hacks/First look chart.

Adele Roberts will leave the station to focus on podcasting with Arielle Free replacing her on early breakfast.

Christmas talent host will replace Arielle on weekend early breakfast.

Maya Jama will leave the station to focus on her growing TV career, replaced by Rickie, Melvin and Charlie and they will also do Sunday mornings.

Jordan North replaces the departing Nick Grimshaw on Drive in the autumn

Two or three Christmas talent hosts will replace Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on weekday evenings.

I can’t see Arielle taking over Early Breakfast, I just feel like she falls very flat and has no radio presence whatsoever oop laugh.gif

Scott is definitely on his way out. He did a fantastic job at covering for Claudia on R2 so I hope he gets something with them, he will definitely suit replacing one of the daytime lot (e.g. Ken Bruce)

Jordan North needs promoting to weekdays, he’s just fantastic.

I’ve said it before though and R1 have a strong output atm and their presenters are doing a great job mostly (Clara aside) and I’ll be surprised if any changes come about at all

I'm surprised Scott is still on radio 1 as he's been there since the 90s and is one of the longest daytime Presenters there now and normally they would go to radio 2 once they've done the breakfast or drivetime shows. Think he was very unlucky not to get the breakfast show proper through his time.

Would like to see him do the chart show still even if he moved to radio 2!

Scott will surely be in line to take over from either Ken Bruce or Steve Wright on Radio 2 but the question is when will either leave. May not be for a few more years yet. Think Ken signed a new contract this year. The lunch-time R2 show has to stay news and current affairs focussed as that's a requirement so think that rules Scott out for that show.
