Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways

Agreed with Klaus, SUCH a high quality series!! Dalek, Father's Day and The Empty Child were also contenders.

Ayyyy *.* I frickin' love these 30 Day challenges

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1

The Empty Child (/ The Doctor Dances if we're allowed to include a two parter) I'd say it has the biggest fear factor and the best pay off as well (if we're going non two parter, I'd say Father's Day, great mix of fear and emotion)

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1 - Father's Day
Day 2: Favourite companion - Clara Oswald

Father's Day is the one episode from Series 1 I'll always go back to and watch on its own, time and time again. It doesn't get old and I cry my eyes out every time. They really smashed it out the park with this one, and with such a unique concept too.

And obviously it had to be Clara for companion wub.gif Not so much in Series 8 (the Danny relationship annoyed me to no end), but her storyline in Series 7 had me hooked, and then Series 9 brought everything full circle beautifully.

Day 2: Favourite companion: Martha Jones

Of course. She walked the f***ing EARTH for a man who barely even looked at her twice. Queen.

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: The Empty Child
Day 2: Favourite companion: DONNA NOBLE tbh I look back at Series 4 and realise you have Martha back for three episodes, everyone back for the finale, the DoctorDonna aren't even a pairing for a run for 3 episodes and yet it STILL manages to be one of my favourite pairings. THAT is how you make an impact and she brought something different to the table. Bill & Amy are runners up!

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: The Empty Child
Day 2: Favourite companion: Donna Noble
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: The Impossible Planet - my favourite story of them all which will probably never be topped even if there is an objectively better story. It’s just the perfect Doctor Who story for me, I love a base under seige but the black hole makes for an interesting spin on that, it’s perfectly paced and there’s a real unnerving threat there where we, rightfully, don’t get all the answers

Day 2: Favourite companion

Rose obvs! Nostalgia goggles on maybe, but she was likeable, funny, had a great rapport with both Eccleston and Tennant and had some good character development and a fitting end. She became perhaps a bit too overpowered after Season 2, but still, give me her over Clara any day.

Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2

Army of Ghosts / Doomsday, the latter specifically. While The Impossible Planet two parter and Girl in the Fireplace are big contenders, Daleks AND Cybermen in the same episode was literally the biggest cliffhanger I could imagine and I was GLUED to the screen throughout, and it had some great action between the alien species and human cast as well as a beautiful emotional climax which relates to my choice for the previous day x

Agreed with Chez! Daleks and Cybermen together was SO exciting even for me at the time when I was a brand new fan. I'd never seen the Daleks in action before so the cliffhanger bowled me over! It's still a really tense watch, all of the cast are on top form, and the ending made 9 year old me WEEP.

Day 1: Favourite episode from Series 1: The Empty Child
Day 2: Favourite companion: Donna Noble
Day 3: Favourite episode from Series 2: The Impossible Planet
Day 4: Favourite monster: The Silence - went for a bit of a curveball tbh but I just love the design of them and their ‘gimmick’, such a great invention and I wish we could have seen more of them. Weeping Angels and Cyberman are runners up. I feel the Daleks have been done to death, they’re great fun but I don’t get anything new from them anymore. However, when done right, the Cybermen can STILL be so good. They’re still so chilling (as seen with World Enough & Time and even the most recent series) and more effective than the Daleks in this way imo

They're just genius, right? So simple yet so utterly terrifying. Blink was of course the pinnacle but they're still horrifying in The Time of Angels and The Angels Take Manhattan as well. If the Cybermen were as consistently great as they have been in their past couple of appearances, they'd be a surefire contender, as would the Daleks if they kept up the RTD level of excitement and terror.

Day 4: Favourite monster: Would be the Weeping Angels for me as well, they are just friggin' terrifying. For the sake of a new one that isn't generic like Daleks/Cybermen (the former have had their moments but also their misses and the latter, despite being terrifying in concept, have been done pretty dirty for pretty much the whole revival series!), I'll say the Zygons, similar to the angels, while their real form is very much outer space, they can blend in with the mundane on Earth which is the most eerie thing, you don't even know one would be with you.

It's not really a 'monster' but shoutout also to the entity from the episode, Midnight. That voice imitation, possession thing was truly terrifying and came the closest out of any alien to actually defeating the Doctor!

Day 4: Favourite monster - The Silence
Day 5: Favourite episode from Series 3 - Blink

Oops at me already having more than a day to catch up on. kink.gif The Girl in the Fireplace really exemplifies the best of Moffat's work, and what series 2 had to offer. wub.gif A beautiful, tragic episode with so much fun along the way.

Much like Klaus, a bit of a curveball with The Silence, but they were a major part of what, for a long time, I considered my favourite series of DW, and the whole premise was excellent. Granted, we didn't get all the answers we needed about them, but they're probably the last new monster I can think of that had any sort of lasting impact and are iconic in some way.

Blink is obviously my choice for series 3 too, another of Moffat's finest episodes. wub.gif

Unoriginal answer but honestly it just had to be. Human Nature's up there as well as the finale too, but Blink listened to all the negatives of the previous Doctor-lite episode (we do not speak its name x) and turned them around. Absolute genius TV!
