Can the UK finally get another win 20 years after their last win? (probably not). Who do you think is going to win tonight.
My guess is Portugal, that performance will really win over the televote. |

Portugal based on last night, but if the jury/televotes are split between them and Italy then Bulgaria could top overall...my thinking is Portugal, but I'd be more than happy for Italy.

I'm thinking Bulgaria at the moment, but that might just be wishful thinking seeing as I'm not a massive fan of Italy or Portugal this year

I am thinking Portugal. Way too much hype and it's just the kind of marmite song that could win

let's just hope it won't be sweden because i think we shouldn't write it off now AT ALL. it would be the worst winner since azerbaijan 2011 too. 5 impecable winners in a row so we are due a crappy one soon~

Great! I have now overanalysed this to the point of being sure Sweden will win

At the moment (and I thought this long before his performance on Thursday), I think it's going to be Bulgaria. Not that's my preference, neither is Portugal, but both they and Bulgaria are both long overdue a win. Would still be both better winners than Sweden, that would be the absolute worst result.

The press results show Bulgaria as a very close third. Given the relative strong diaspora they have, it could this that gives them a criucial edge. I still think Sweden are in contention. I don't know... My wish is UK to break the top ten more than anything.

I'm certain Sweden won't win.
It's got to be Italy v Portugal v Bulgaria - I like all three but Portugal has that 'real' edge, really feel that song and performance. |

I don't particularly like Portugal's entry, but who could be sad about them getting a victory after never being in the top 5 after 84 years.

Bulgaria. I think Portugal will probably falter (only a bit, by that I mean like 4th) a bit in the televote and Italy will do similarly on juries whereas Bulgaria will be strong on both (perhaps winning one or the other, but I can see second in both).

My thoughts exactly. Sofia 2018 and Poli Genova to present the whole bloody thing on her own! |

Definitely Bulgaria or Belgium. I'm not feeling the Portugal hype, a slow song in a language few around Europe will understand, without even what Italy has on the big screen and the dancers to help it out.

I sadly don't get Bulgaria - other than that main synth hook there's nothing in the song that grabs me. I'd be a little disappointed if it won - particularly as I adored Poli last year - but with Italy and Portugal so seemingly polarised it may well be the winning all-rounder. The fact that Kristian was born in the year 2000 also makes me feel incredibly old.
Belgium would be a huge but delightful shock, but I think its surely between the other three! This post has been edited by BillyH: 13th May 2017, 03:32 PM |

Of the main three contenders, Bulgaria is the one that has the most regional/diaspora vote that will swing behind it, has the better draw and is the most 'agreeable' song in so far as some people just won't "get" Portugal whilst some will absolutely adore it so the jury votes I can see really swinging behind Bulgaria with Portugal in a comfortable but still fairly distant second since just one person on a jury really not taking to a song can drag that song's jury mark way down and Portugal especially really needs to run up the score on the jury votes.
Italy's hype has (like I predicted) dried up after the semi qualifiers got the spotlight and is now being realised for the (like I said) naff and kitsch novelty song that it actually is and so will (like I predicted) probably only be able to manage a top 10 or so with the juries and so (like I predicted) will not win Eurovision. |
