Carly Rae Jespen achieves her 2nd #1 single with 'Run Away With Me'! Her first #1 'I Really Like You' reached the top spot back in March. Both singles are taken from her new album 'E•MO•TION'.
Prior to this year, Carly's biggest hit was 'Call Me Maybe' with 440 chart points, but as of last week 'I Really Like You' has achieved a higher number of points - 443.

Seriously though, that's an excellent #1! Carly's comeback single wasn't overly impressive for me, though I'm glad she managed to get a decent sized hit out of it, but 'Run Away With Me' is an undeniably gorgeous, well-crafted pop song. Haven't heard it in about a week but I remember the pre-chorus was a particular standout. Would love it to do well for her. biggrin.gif

'Poison' hasn't really clicked with me at all although I recognise it's a bit experimental and a departure from standard Rita fare, so fair play to her for being on course for another big hit, I guess. At the moment it just feels quite disjointed to me with an overly abrupt chorus but I've a feeling it'll grow in time. happy.gif

Loving the slow jam representation in your top 10 thanks to Selena and Miguel - particularly great to see the longevity for the latter's 'Coffee', which is still sounding very fresh to me too. wub.gif

I really hope 'RAWM' is a success, as you say it's such a gorgeous song. It's still firmly pop, but I like that it shows a more mature side to her.

Oh my gawd where do I even start with all that phreshness?! Well I s'pose your number one would make sense. kink.gif

So yes, 'Run Away With Me' is a real triumph! I am liking Carly so much more this era. 'Call Me Maybe' was rather endearing but 'Tonight I'm Getting Over You' was abhorrent so I lost interest from then on. However 'I Really Like You' was a super sweet comeback lead and this is even better! Well done her.

'Good For You' the other hot single of discussion at the moment, I am loving this more subtle sultry sound from Selena, she's knocked it out of the park twice in a row with 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' and now this!

'Back It Up' is a bit of a guilty pleasure hehe, a right summer smasher though, which can also be said for 'Not Letting Go'!

Generally feeling a LOT of your chart, hooray! Fab stuff. heart.gif

So yes, 'Run Away With Me' is a real triumph! I am liking Carly so much more this era. 'Call Me Maybe' was rather endearing but 'Tonight I'm Getting Over You' was abhorrent so I lost interest from then on. However 'I Really Like You' was a super sweet comeback lead and this is even better! Well done her.

'Good For You' the other hot single of discussion at the moment, I am loving this more subtle sultry sound from Selena, she's knocked it out of the park twice in a row with 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' and now this!

'Back It Up' is a bit of a guilty pleasure hehe, a right summer smasher though, which can also be said for 'Not Letting Go'!
