Cyprus have received 120 submissions for 2020, and now they're looking for a singer for one of them! Reports are that this year they're after a male artist, and now there's a potential name - Sandro Nicolas. German born with a Greek mother, he participated in The Voice of Germany in 2018. Looking at who he's been seen in the studio with (Linnea Deb!), he does seem to have his sights on Eurovision - but apparently the Germans want him too

It looks like they've got him - and selected him over Ivi Adamou! I'd have liked to have seen her again but they couldn't have gone female uptempo AGAIN I suppose The candidates seem to be Mucho Calor (a dance track), Can't Look Away (a mid tempo) and Never Let You Down (a "modern pop track"). Screaming at Mucho Calor, don't make it too obvious you want to replicate Fuego huns x

I hope they don't do that again though, Replay did a bit disappointingly because it came so soon after Fuego imo. If they keep chasing that they're gonna keep doing worse I feel.

Apparently 'Mucho Calor' is out due to a disagreement with the songwriters. Either way, expect some official confirmation imminently..

Will we get a 'Hace Calor' or 'Quémalo' next year? Sooner or later one is bound to match Fuego's result at least.

Yes - this is solid. A shame Cyprus is in the much tougher semi, it’s not as immediate as their last two but I trust Cyprus to nail the staging.
