We're only a matter of days away from the Tour starting! As usual all the action and highlights will be shown on ITV4. Chris Froome has just been given the green light to compete after race organisers tried to ban him due to this doping case. Great for him, but it's no doubt going to cause some controversy over the course of the Tour. Thoughts? |

From what I read, Froome won't be popular at all during the Tour de France. I hope nothing serious happens.

Froome, Porte, Yates & Quintana all losing time on the first stage - interesting to see if that affects the final results!
Also liking the introduction of bonus seconds - it gives a small bonus to unsuccessful breakaways. |

Will this year finally be the one that Geriant Thomas gets his moment in the Grand Tour sun?

It is Gaviria who wins the battle within the war in the points race on Stage 5. Sagan has to settle for seven points to the Colombian's eight.

Unfortunate for Bardet and Dumoulin to get punctures at such an unfortunate time on Stage 6!

Well that cobbled stage certainly threw everything up in the mix shame for Porte crashing out once again and Van Garderen losing that much time - not a good day for BMC but at least they've still got Van Avermaet in yellow. Not a great day for Uran either.

That finish for La Course is the best I've ever seen for sure! Didn't think it was possible for Van Vleuten to make up that gap
Great to see Van Avermaet extend his lead by 2 minutes today also, even if he'll lose it all tomorrow. General Classification - Stage 10: 1. Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) (25-18-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-) 2. Geraint Thomas (SKY) (15-6-3-3-4-2-2-2-2-2-) 3. Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) (38-20-16-15-13-8-8-7-5-3-) 4. Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) (10-16-13-13-11-10-10-9-7-4-) 5. Bob Jungels (Quick-Step) (16-11-5-6-6-6-6-5-4-5-) 6. Chris Froome (SKY) (91-76-18-17-15-14-14-12-8-6-) 7. Adam-Yates (Mitchelton) (84-73-20-18-16-13-13-13-9-7-) 8. Mikel Landa (Movistar) (33-32-17-16-14-12-12-11-10-8-) 9. Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain) (12-21-22-19-17-16-16-15-12-9-) 10. Primos Roglic (Lotto-Jumbo) (54-39-27-21-19-17-17-16-13-10-) 13. Rafal Majka (Bora) (11-23-11-11-10-9-9-8-6-13-) 39. Philippe Gilbert (Quick-Step) (19-5-4-4-3-5-5-4-3-39-) |

Fantastic attack from Geraint Thomas on the final few km of Stage 11 on La Rosiere to fly past and take both the stage win and the Yellow Jersey- reminded me of early in the 2012 Tour that Sir Bradley won when Chris Froome looked the stronger rider and won one of the first mountain stages.
Mark Cavendish is sadly out now having been defeated by the mountains and winning no further stages. : ( |

Great day's racing! Froome doesn't seem as strong as usual though, I can see Dumoulin overtaking him and possibly others as well. Great move from Dumoulin to get it going, he's put lots of time into everyone bar the Sky duo today.
Looks like Roglic will be the dark horse this year if we're going to get one. |

Team Sky's Gianni Moscon has been kicked out (again) for punching another rider in the face.

Well the 'experimental' stage has certainly changed the race - Thomas looks almost certain to win now, and I can see Roglic overtaking Froome into 3rd. Will be interesting to see whether this is the end of winning Yellow Jerseys for Froome or whether he's just not fully recovered from the Giro.

Dumoulin wins the stage but Thomas will win the TDF.
