Another once-good team that have failed to qualify. I think it will be a tough match, Italy could even take it.

England should have it, I think, they are at home plus Italy didn't qualify, so probably aren't THAT good any more.

I think it will be a 2-0 win to Italy.
Holland did beat Portugal 3-0 last night. |

The starting 11:
Butland, Walker, Stones, Tarkowski, Trippier, Dier, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lingard, Young, Sterling, Vardy So far John Stones has been very poor. |

Didn't see the game against Holland, but imo this is why I think Henderson is the most underrated player in the squad. He is not flashy, but I think England miss his athleticism and pressing. Dier is probably better defensively and offers more of a threat from set-pieces offensively, but I think Henderson offers more control to the team. Impressed by the front players.. think Stones is showing why we can't play with 2 centre backs as I don't think any of them are good enough or experienced enough yet to play in a 2 at this level.

Nice goal from Vardy to put England ahead, great quick thinking and setup from Lingard as well

I didn't watch the match but I did vote draw in the poll and it's finished 1-1 so it looks like my guess was correct. When it comes to England it's generally hard to find the enthusiasm to watch them which is how a lot of people feel, I don't tend to watch their friendly matches much unlike some years ago, same goes for the qualification matches as well. I wont think twice about watching their World Cup matches though, in fact I'll try to watch as many World Cup matches as I can.
In other international news Germany are losing 1-0 to Brazil and Spain are thrashing Argentina 4-1. This post has been edited by Evil Houdini: Mar 27 2018, 09:00 PM |

Switched off after the first half, was hard to find much enthusiasm from it.

Personally, I would give it to Henderson myself.
Quite a result for Spain as it was 6-1 to them against Argentina. |

After Friday's dreadful match, I actually didn't bother tonight, I did hear it finished as a draw, that shows England are still awful when they couldn't beat a team
again that didn't make it to Russia this time on home soil. Typical they are getting the countries that fail to qualify as friendly games, they are not really been tested. I know England have quite an easy group, they should qualify to second round, but I really can't see us getting past the second round, if we get a team like Germany. |

I was at this match tonight. It was a bit of a boring game. This is quite comfortably the weakest Italian side I’ve ever seen.

If England get through to the second round then they will face Poland, Senegal, Colombia or Japan as they are in Group H. England will most likely play Germany in the quarter finals. |

That Spain Argentina game was much better - should have been at least one sending off innit!

Finished 6-1 in the end on Tuesday. Maybe it's a one off result, but that defence looks worrying for Argentina.
Interestingly enough Argentina had one of the better defences in the CONMEBOL qualifying, conceding only 16 goals in 18 games, and they did manage to beat Brazil in friendly last year with a clean sheet, but I dunno, they seem to be getting worse. |

Otamendi & Rojo should be better especially with Marchersno and Banega in front of them!

I believe that was Argentina's joint heaviest defeat. I'm sure they'll get better.
