Now is the time where all the entries have been revealed and we are just awaiting the semi-final running orders which will no doubt be delayed while we await the resolution of the Russia issue. However something to keep us occupied is the 2017 preview party season which involves 6 official parties for the first time ever, with Spain's brand new party in Madrid joining parties in Riga, London, Tel-Aviv, Amsterdam and Moscow. The calendar for the 2017 parties is as follows:

MARCH 2017

25 Eurovision Pre-Party Riga - Riga, Latvia

APRIL 2017

02 London Eurovision Party - London, United Kingdom
05 Israel Calling - Tel Aviv, Israel
08 Eurovision In Concert 2017 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands
15 Eurovision Spain Preview Party - Madrid, Spain

This is the place to discuss all the live performances, this will be the first time we see live performances for several of the internally selected entries. Also it gives me the chance to go on about endless interviews that I always watch. Sometimes entries start to get a bit of hype if their performances get received well, maybe this will be the make-or-break moment for Blanche or Kristian Kostov as we see them in a live setting with an audience for the first time.

Yes Romania is really good fun, it will do very well if juries don't mark it down too much.

Italy was the easy standout for me, incredible performance and such a charismatic performer, the song worked so well live and got a bigger reaction than I've ever seen at any of these London parties.

Belgium, to me, got a bit lost in the mix. Will need fantastic staging to contend. Bulgaria were competent but the song isn't instantly memorable to me at all, it's slick, modern and he has great vocals so I'm sure he'll do well, but it doesn't feel like a winner whatsoever.

Lucie was very good but I doubt the song will stand out in Kiev. Norway continues to grow, if the Spotify crowd are watching in their droves then it could do surprisingly well as it sounds like a ready made chart hit.

Sweden was polished as ever and it stood out well even without the stageshow, but it feels slightly clinical in a way too.

Best reactions definitely went to Italy, UK, France and Romania with Bulgaria and Austria not too far behind. I couldn't see Blanche while she performed but found out afterwards her in-ears didn't work at all so I'm not ruling her out based on something out of her control. She is very shy though but very polite!

If anyone wants to watch the London Eurovision Party in full, escXtra will be streaming the entire concert from 8pm tonight UK time which was filmed using the official camera, had access to the actual microphone feeds and is therefore in full HD!

Watching Israel Calling live on Facebook. Screaming at Tijana saying after her song "I know, it was hard coming after Anja" completely ignoring the fact Brendan had performed between them! biggrin.gif

Israel Calling asked each contestant to write down a list of dreams, Blanche is just thinking "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

Moscow is cancelled after delegations started withdrawing due to their belief that Russia wouldn't be participating at Eurovision 2017 therefore there's no benefit to promoting themselves in Russia. Moscow had previously pledged to hold the concert whatever happened as it was for the fans, but obviously they can't if they don't have enough countries that find it worth going to!
