Moeen Ali is to take a "short break" from cricket after being dropped by England for this week's second Ashes Test against Australia at Lord's.

After being part of England's World Cup-winning squad, Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen struggled in Tests against Ireland and Australia.

He scored only 13 runs in four innings in those two matches, and took four wickets at a cost of 186 runs.

Moeen Ali has been out of form for a while now. He seems to be a confidence player, so hopefully a short break from cricket might do him a power of good.

Why on earth do the Sun think it's acceptable to stick personal parts of people's lives on the front of their newspapers? Genuinely disgusting.

It’s not even journalism, it’s sickening. Hopefully more people start ignoring the scum of a tabloid.

I really cannot see how a story about something that happened before Ben Stokes was born merits a front page story. Maybe this will persuade more people to follow Liverpool’s lead.

That was an exciting finish. Notts really messed that up at the end. Good to see such great weather for T20 finals day. It was always a risk staging it so late in the year.

England's extraordinary win over New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup final will never be repeated after the boundary countback rule was abolished in ICC events.

After both sides hit 15 in the super over - a one-over shootout - England won because they had scored more boundaries in the match.

The super over in the semi-finals and finals will now be repeated until one team has scored more than the other.

Scotland suffered a dramatic and surprise two-run defeat by Singapore in their opening T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates.

Singapore, who are ranked nine places below Scotland at 21st in the world, set a target of 168 for six.

But the Scots fell just short after needing eight runs from the final over of the game, finishing 166 for nine.

Pakistan have sacked Sarfaraz Ahmed as their Test and Twenty20 captain because of a "visible loss of form and confidence".

Sarafarz is replaced as Test captain by batsman Azhar Ali while batsman Babar Azam will take over in T20s.

India took the final two South Africa wickets in consecutive balls to win the third Test by an innings and 202 runs and secure a 3-0 series whitewash.

The Proteas added only one run to their overnight total and survived just two overs on day four in Ranchi before falling to 133 all out.

Debutant spinner Shahbaz Nadeem removed Theunis de Bruyn and Lungi Ngidi with the final two balls of his first over.

India secured a record 11th straight home Test win in the second Test.

The no.1 ranked all rounder in ODI cricket,Shakib al Hasan, has been banned for two years for not reporting corrupt approaches. I have no sympathy for him. Michael Vaughan is saying it should have been a longer ban.

England beat New Zealand in another super over to win a thrilling final Twenty20 and take the series 3-2.

In a repeat of July's World Cup final, the scores were tied at the end of a wildly unpredictable game in Auckland.

New Zealand plundered 146-5 from 11 overs, and it took Chris Jordan hitting 12 off the final three deliveries to take the game to a super over.

Jonny Bairstow, who earlier struck 47 off 18 balls, and captain Eoin Morgan scored 17 off England's six deliveries, before Jordan limited New Zealand to eight.
