Reading the track listing- the album sounds great.

The Killing of Georgie from 1976 is one of my favourite songs ever. heart.gif

It's a beautiful song but he didn't write it Tess.

One of the Sutherland Brothers wrote it a few years before. I've heard the original.

I'm not sure he's written any of his songs. I think they are almost all covers.

Is anyone else old enough to remember the 1976 documentary on the Ark Royal that Sailing was the theme tune to? He re-released the song and it was a hit for a second year.

He is pretty iconic - Rod Stewart - totally deserves his knighthood. Seems to have a cool life too. cool.gif

He is vey special. I always have the feeling that he is not snobbish but a real nice guy. I like Downtown train. Sailing is so melancholic. I am wondering if he will also perform the song with Rob...

See what I know about such things laugh.gif

I always wondered why Rod got the Sir gong , not saying he didn't deserve it but he has quite a history, he was best pals with Ronnie Wood back in the day & they got up to all sorts , it just makes me think what has Robbie to do to get one....pay his tax I guess sleep.gif tongue.gif

I think The Faces were from 1964 so over 50 years in the business. He does deserve it. There doesn't appear to be any consistency if they are comparing life styles though between those who have received one and those who haven't though.

God knows when/if RW will get anything. He's already ten years overdue it. Stuff 'em I say. dry.gif

Of course Rod deserves his but not anymore than Robbie , they have similar careers , similar lifestyles etc , even Mo Farah has the title ,not sure it means the same these days if they give them out willy nilly. Robbie has a very good record charity wise so I would have thought it would count mellow.gif
