Excited!

Posted by: shadow2009 1st May 2020, 02:44 PM

I just came here to post this. Is it an album or EP? He's been working on it for ages. ohmy.gif I remember he had an interview with GAME in 2017 and said the album was 'almost done'!

Will always give him a listen as I like his voice

Posted by: Hauspital* 1st May 2020, 05:40 PM

Excited for this! His early projects were amazing.

Posted by: shadow2009 5th May 2020, 08:58 AM

Woke up thinking it was released today. sad.gif Got my dates wrong.

Posted by: shadow2009 6th May 2020, 01:41 PM

Amazing.

The album is titled Andy and is set the be released on 26th June. The tracklist has also been announced.

Anything as good as Stronger Than Ever/Bloodsport '15 and it will be a treat.

Time In A Tree is beautiful. I'm glad it's still on the album! It really grew on me.

It's unlikely I will even like anything from him as much as the epic 'Stronger Than Ever' as that is one of my favourite chart hits of the 10s but I will give these new songs a listen anyway.

It never clicked with me until I understood the video and now I think it's beautiful too.

His visuals, lyrics and voice are so refreshing and unique.

New track dropped.

Third bop in a row (probably the best one so far).

'Squares' is absolutely sublime.

I think it's in the top 3 of RR tracks for me already (I only heard it today with the album)... It's stunning.

He performed it on James Corden.

This is such a good album. So chill and his voice is luuuush throughout. It took a couple of listens though, but I think I'm firmly in now!

Posted by: shadow2009 30th June 2020, 05:39 PM

Not top 100 in the midweeks which is sad considering YAMNB made it to number 32 but I guess there's no physical release...

Also he's currently trying to encourage his followers to report a gay therapy/conversion profile on Instagram. The LGBT king we deserve.

Posted by: Jonjo 30th June 2020, 06:35 PM

KING!

No physical release was always gonna harm his chances. But he is closer (or was when I asked yday laugh.gif - he was "just outside the top 100") to the top 100 than I had anticipated considering it's a download/streaming only release.

I keep going back to this album. It's a brilliant album to just put on and chill to. The album gets better as it goes on too! 'Big & Scared' is very Kate Nash/Lily Allen.

One of my favourite albums of the year. I've listened to it pretty much daily since release and I'm still falling in love with it! Fantastic wub.gif

I feel bad saying it because he's a legend...but it's been a let down for me. sad.gif Don't get me wrong, 'Squares' is up there with his best work and I like bopping to 'STFU' and think 'Time In A Tree' both the song are video are very nice but as an album I found myself a little bit bored and my mind wandering during certain tracks. Maybe my expectations were too high?

Then again it could be the lack of music videos. I wasn't initially that fussed on 'Straitjacket' until the video dropped and now it's my favourite thing he's ever done.

Wow, this album has helped me so much during lockdown. His lyrics are just so relatable.

I've added the entire album to my playlist besides the first track (Pressure) which is weird because usually the first tracks are amazing. laugh.gif

Belatedly getting a CD release on 26th February

Posted by: Tafty 13th February 2021, 05:29 AM

Finally!

One of my favourite albums of last year. 'Squares' still hits hard.

Posted by: shadow2009 13th February 2021, 10:47 AM

I wonder if it could chart in the top 100 with the CD release?

Posted by: Tafty 13th February 2021, 11:07 AM

I'm currently debating whether to get it through Amazon or Record Store, where they have signed copies! drama.gif

I'm not expecting top 100 tbh. But it would be nice!

EDIT: I opted for Signed x

You can get signed copies from https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/R-B-Rap-Hip-Hop/Andy-Signed-CD/6TC60YSD000 if you wanted one!

Thank you!

I really need him to announce a tour. sad.gif He played in Glasgow in a small venue back in 2015 and his manager told me before it that he'd be definitely coming out to meet fans etc after it but I ended up going to the gig alone and felt so awkward and anxious that I ended up coming home before the support act finished. I logged on to Twitter the next morning and saw so many people posting pictures with him. laugh.gif

Posted by: Tafty 13th February 2021, 01:17 PM

Aww no! I feel bad for you coz I can definitely envision that feeling! I saw him once at Wireless festival in 2015 and then at his own gig in 2018 (on my own too aha) and it was one of my favourite live gigs I've ever been to. His stage presence is fantastic. I also got to hi-5 him a couple of times coz he came round to the doors where I was stood to go upstairs and thank/hi-5 all the fans up there. Incredible atmosphere and just a fantastic experience all round. I'd definitely recommend seeing him if/when you can (after that gig 'Time In A Tree' became an essential RR song for me coz before that I didn't care for it at all and I considered it my least fave of his!).

My order got pushed back to the end of March sob.gif
