BuzzJack Music Forum _ Madonna _ Madonna returns to Warner?

Posted by: Liam.k. 9th August 2020, 03:17 AM

Just seen she's left Interscope for Warner who she was from the beginning of her career to about 2008!

Yep her three album deal is up! Exciting that she is back to where she began because the material under Interscope wasn't really the strongest of her career so maybe this is a sign of good things to come!

Billboard have reported about it: https://www.billboard.com/amp/articles/news/9431521/madonna-interscope-exit

Seems she hasn't yet put pen to paper with Warner!

While The Sun reports that Madonna is considering a return to Warner Music (which was known as Warner Bros. when she called it home for her series of albums released from 1983-2008), sources tell Billboard that she has not inked a new deal anywhere as of Saturday (Aug. 8) and any talks are in early stages. Warner Music declined to comment for this story.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet that she has returned to Warner but it will certainly be interesting if this happens.

It has felt that Madonna's career and music has altered since originally departing with Warner; I'm unsure how much that actually has to do with Warner or whether it's down to other factors, but a return to them is filling me with some confidence - if only for the thought we might get some deluxe editions of her studio albums!

Deluxe editions of her earlier albums are long overdue but I can’t really see it happening. Like a prayer got a digital reissue in the past year or so but the content was poor and no physical release. A very half hearted attempt at such a great album!
