BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Sia - Big Girls Cry

Posted by: Nick F1 6th November 2014, 05:06 PM

The new single from '1000 Forms Of Fear', at least in France.
The song was sent to France radio last week. Several stations have started spinning it. (the song's currently #18 on iTunes France). Sia will give an interview on the popular French radio station NJR tomorrow.

Also, a video for the song was shot a couple of months ago. No word on when it will be released.
The next single in US/UK is 'You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile', from the Annie Movie soundtrack.

Release it in the UK already! No one cares about the Annie cover sleep.gif

Ooohh yes yes! My #1 choice to follow 'Chandelier'. Another absolute beauty.

Was waiting for when we'd hear about this so I'm made up now wub.gif

A more sensible and obvious choice than 'Burn The Pages' which was initially billed as the second single months ago. I have to admit at this stage I didn't think we'd get a second single at all.

I still cannot clearly make out a lot of the lyrics in this song though.

This would be a perfect single choice to release in the United Kingdom with an x-factor performance.

I believe one line is something like 'I believe in the order of paid TV exactly'? unsure.gif

During and interview with French Virgin radio, Sia confirmed the song as the second official single from the album, whose music video was filmed in September.

The video directed by Daniel Askill and Sebastian Wintero, who is scheduled to appear American child dancer, actress, and model Maddie Ziegler. She is best known for her appearances in numerous music videos, including Sia’s single “Chandelier“, which won the 2014 MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography and was nominated for Video of the Year.

Excellent! Great choice. biggrin.gif However, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile" is the next radio single in America and has already been sent to Australian and German radio to promote the remake of the movie "Annie". sad.gif I believe the cover is also supposed to be her next UK single for now.

"Big Girls Cry" is already top 20 on French iTunes, so it's the official second single there already. The rest of the world just needs to catch up.

Yesss!!! I really love this song. Hope it can chart well in the UK. heart-old.gif

This song was so big in France early October!

Posted by: Apricot 2nd April 2015, 08:52 AM

OMG officially the third single and video has just been released!

Posted by: Simon. 2nd April 2015, 09:20 AM

Is she doing sign language or what?

After the past two videos being watchable, this one is really annoying sleep.gif can't see music channels playing it that much

Love the song though!

I'm starting to think they don't choreograph these at all. They look like random moves and people who see actual "meanings" behind them must be mad! I've only barely liked the Chandelier video. I hope she goes back to making "normal" videos for the next era. Cocaine, Buttons and Soon We'll Be Found are INFINITELY better than what she puts out now!

Kinda love the video. Very creepy.

Amazing song.

Horrible single choice. ugh.

Should've been Burn the Pages.

Posted by: _Nīck_ 2nd April 2015, 10:14 AM

I feel like she's really not using Maddie's best talents in this one - kinda like that awful Ellen performance of Elastic Heart.

was maybe hoping for something that would make it more viral a la Chandelier and EH, but glad the song has a video, too good not to have it.

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 2nd April 2015, 12:22 PM

It's a UK single according to her FB page.

Fire Meet Gasoline.

Agreed. This and Fire Meet Gasoline were the obvious single choices. I'd have been happy with either.

Posted by: mr_aly 2nd April 2015, 03:31 PM

It looks like they gave Maddie GHB in that video... laugh.gif

Great song though, so glad they're releasing this!

Posted by: Joe. 2nd April 2015, 04:08 PM

Talking of Maddie, I'm up to the episode of Dance Moms where the 'Elastic Heart' video has gone viral and everyone is throwing shade, Kathy calling it disgusting.

Oh, I'm the only one who watches Dance Moms...Oops..

Carry on....

Posted by: Liаm 2nd April 2015, 04:08 PM

My god this overrated. Not awful but I'd say I prefer every single from We Are Born and Some People Have Real Problems over this. I guess it is the best single choice though out of everything left.... I can't say I particularly think that much of 1000 Forms of Fear as an album personally though, especially compared to her past work. It's a shame because I spent so long wanting her to be huge and now she is and I'm just not feeling it. Chandelier remains an amazing track though tbf.

Posted by: Mart!n 2nd April 2015, 04:38 PM

That video just freaked me out, great track anyway.

Posted by: #BJSCSLAYERRRRRR 2nd April 2015, 05:55 PM

Video is a shit!!

Can see this maybe gettin top 75 at a push.

Posted by: Mango 2nd April 2015, 10:39 PM

I'm beyond happy that this is finally being released as a single, but that video is just disturbing, much more so than the first two wacko.gif but if it gets more people hearing and downloading the song then great!

Posted by: HausofKendrick 3rd April 2015, 07:45 PM

My favourite on the album after 'Chandelier' as i am sure i've mentioned in the past. I haven't been this excited about a single release in a long time as i've been willing her to go for it since first hearing the album.

I am disappointed by the video, it in a way sucks out emotion and meaning from the song which is the opposite effect to what i wanted. It could have been a rare moment for Sia herself to show the woman behind the veil for even a short time, despite that going against the ~theme~ of the album's visuals. Still i will continue to listen without the video and appreciate it for all of its beauty heart.gif
