Welcome to Round 4 and the latest song to bow out is the game changer 'Justify My Love', meaning that both of this collection's new tracks are now both gone. Released as the lead single in October 1990, and written by Lenny Kravitz and Ingrid Chavez, along with additional lyrics by Madonna herself. Although Chavez wasn't credited, which led to a court case which would end up being settled out of court, the terms of which included a songwriting credit. Madonna's vocals are primarily spoken and whispered, almost never sung, a style she would use on her next project 'Erotica'. The song received mixed reviews upon release, but was critically appreciated by many contemporary critics, noting it as one of Madonna's best songs to date and became a huge success by becoming her 9th chart topper in the USA and hit #2 in the UK. Honestly I wouldn't call this one of my faves from her, basically find it heavy breathing against a beat, but it is one of her most interesting songs that at the same time marks an end to an era and marks a new beginning, giving a good indication of where she'd go next. 8 songs received votes this time, the highest amount so far. 'Material Girl' gained the 2nd highest votes with 4 & 'Live To Tell' again gains 2, then finally 'Like A Virgin', 'Holiday', 'Borderline', 'Crazy For You' & 'Cherish' all each gain 1 vote each. This round will be a Double Elimination, so guys remember you can vote for your 2 least favourite songs from the 14 remaining tracks left and the 2 with the most will be out. Results: 15.
