Possible?

...yes

Posted by: mr_pmt Jan 13 2017, 07:33 PM

Yes it will.

Yes

Why not? It's not like it hasn't just happened

Adele could do it.

Chainsmokers could.

Ed could do it again.

One Direction, Spice Girls or Take That could have in their heyday.

There isn't anything stopping it happening again, especially with less streaming power.

It's more likely to go even further. I wouldn't be surprised if one artist went for 1, 2, and 3.

It hasn't though until today...

I think Justin Bieber will take notes from this and drop 2 singles at once, which will of course enter at 1 and 2.

Sure

I know technically he featured on both and they were released a week apart so I'm guessing that's why omitted but cold water and love me like you Justin beiber ?

So Ike guessing he could

Yeah this will easily be done many more times and it could happen with all the huge names, it's just no one tried to before Ed.

Yeah but when was the last time an artist of his calibre released two separate singles on the same day? It'll only take the likes of Adele or Bieber to do the same trick and it'll happen again.

I think it's great this is able to happen - it makes the charts more of an accurate reflection of the most popular music on the whole, instead of just one song being forced to get popular. I'm talking about the reference of album tracks being able to chart high btw.

I think the only other people who could pull it off are Justin Bieber and Adele really.

Posted by: SKOB Jan 14 2017, 03:16 PM

Drake HAS released two songs on a same day, One Dance and Pop Style so being Drake doesn't guarantee anything.

But yea Adele, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are probably the ones who are able to achieve these days.

Posted by: Dobbo Jan 14 2017, 03:19 PM

It's down to circumstance. Ed only achieved it after taking a long break, if he did it mid-era I don't think it would have the same effect. If Bieber did it now I don't think it would be a guarantee either, you gotta give it time to get the hype going.

What about Sam Smith?

It will happen of course. Some artist will do this to make history. And it is easily achievable for artists like Bieber/Adele/Sam Smith/ etc
