Jorja Smith featuring Burna Boy Be Honest 5th single from Teenage Fantasy Released: 16th August 2019 Label: FAMM Chart Statistics NE (29/08/2019) | 18-19-18-18-18-16-15-11-8-[9] Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 30 Sales 17 Audio Streaming 23 Video Streaming Video Biography Jorja Smith is an English R&B singer/songwriter whose soulful, jazz-tinged cadence, heartfelt lyrics, and retro sound have invoked comparisons to the likes of AlunaGeorge, Rihanna, and Amy Winehouse, the latter of whom the Walsall-based artist cites as her biggest influence. Within a three-year span, Smith appeared on the U.K. indie chart with her moody, MOBO-nominated debut single "Blue Lights" (2016), nearly cracked the Top Ten of the U.K. dance chart with "On My Mind" (2017), and after three additional MOBO nominations crossed into the Top 40 with the Stormzy-assisted ballad "Let Me Down" (2018). During this time, Smith also contributed to Drake's More Life playlist and the Kendrick Lamar-guided soundtrack for Black Panther, audience-expanding releases that intensified anticipation for her debut album, Lost & Found (June 2018). Raised on reggae, soul, and hip-hop, Jorja Smith was encouraged to pursue music by her musician father. She started performing at the age of eight, shortly thereafter began writing original songs, and later earned a music scholarship. After she completed her studies, while still a teenager, she made her recorded debut in 2016 with "Blue Lights," a hip-hop soul single inspired by racist police motives. The song, issued through her own FAMM label, reached number 22 on the U.K. indie chart and was nominated for a MOBO award in the category of Best Song. By the end of 2016, she also added the Maverick Sabre collaboration "A Prince," the powerful "Where Did I Go?," and the five-track EP Project 11 to her discography. Smith's international profile was elevated in 2017 with contributions to Drake's playlist More Life. Both of the songs on which she appeared, "Jorja Interlude" and "Get It Together," charted in multiple territories. A handful of additional solo singles, beginning with "Beautiful Little Fools" and "Teenage Fantasy," and concluding with "On My Mind," arrived throughout 2017. The last of the batch reached number five on the U.K. indie chart and peaked at number 54 on the pop chart. MOBO nominations followed for Best Female, Best Newcomer, and Best R&B/Soul Act. In early 2018, she released the dark and moody "Let Me Down," which featured grime artist Stormzy and eventually peaked at number 34 on the pop chart. Perhaps even more notably, she appeared on the Black Panther soundtrack with "I Am," a collaboration with album orchestrator Kendrick Lamar. Lost & Found, Smith's debut album, followed only a few months later. - iTunes Top 100 Chart History Jorja Smith 2017 24 Get It Together (Drake feat. Lewis Capaldi Bruises 1st single from BLOOM and 1st and 7th single from Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent Released: 16th May 2017 Label: Vertigo Berlin Chart Statistics NE (14/02/2019) | 95-72-79-62-56-59-55-59-63-54-54-53-49-x RE (13/06/2019) | 16-x RE (19/09/2019) | 73-83-82-11-16-9-[6] Sales: 700k+ Certification: Platinum Status: Standard Chart Ratio 10 Sales 11 Audio Streaming 49 Video Streaming Video Biography Scottish singer/songwriter Lewis Capaldi began creating a buzz in early 2017 with the release of his debut single, "Bruises," a brooding exploration of a failed relationship that introduced his intimate piano and vocal sound. On the strength of his lone single, the Bathgate native sold out legendary Glasgow club King Tut's and notched millions of streams before dropping his follow-up single, the equally stark "Lost on You," later that summer. After signing with Virgin Records, Capaldi included both songs on his debut EP, Bloom, and capped off his banner year with a Scottish Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The front half of 2018 was spent touring in North America and Europe in advance of his next single, "Rush," featuring Jessie Reyez. Travis Scott HIGHEST IN THE ROOM Non-album single Released: 4th October 2019 Label: Capitol Records Chart Statistics NE (17/10/2019) | 2-5-[4] Sales: 80k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 28 Sales 02 Audio Streaming 04 Video Streaming Video Biography Travis Scott has helped define the sound and feel of 2010s rap, imbuing tough, surrealistic trap with a distinctly pop appeal. Raised in the suburbs of Houston, Scott (born Jacques Berman Webster II in 1992) first made noise as an in-house producer for Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, working on the 2012 label showcase Cruel Summer and 2013’s Yeezus, which arrived mere weeks after he dropped his debut mixtape, Owl Pharaoh. He went on to bring his gothic-edged sound to Drake, Migos, Madonna, and Rihanna (“Bitch Better Have My Money”), while his own solo albums—2015’s Rodeo and 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight—playfully drew the commercial center of rap toward the avant-garde. Take 2018’s ASTROWORLD, a swirling, almost psychedelic set that not only managed to pull together Quavo, John Mayer, Tame Impala, and Sheck Wes on the same album, but also had them gel—a testament to Scott’s vision as an artist and superlative curator. Like West, his mentor, Scott has also brought tremendous energy to his live shows, creating a stage-diving, punk-like spectacle that revitalizes a space that too many rappers inhabit on autopilot. - iTunes Top 100 Chart History 2015 50 No Sense (Justin Bieber feat.
