They must be the luckiest girlband ever! The greatest hits hasn't even been released and the label has supposedly given them the green light to record a new studio album?
Total madness really. |

I'm starting to believe Mollie has serious dirt on the head of their record label and that's how they're getting away with abysmal album sales, never promoting, and studio albums confirmed before Greatest Hits released
That Mollie!!! |

I'm guessing the label are thinking that the Greatest Hits and Tour will boost interest in them and they want to capitalise on that. I suppose that could all change when "What Are You Waiting For" flops.
I really want #album6 to be amazing, but my expectations are extremely low after "Living For The Weekend". Chasing Lights was such an amazing pop album, none of there albums have come close to it'. |

whoever suggested their next album will be a Christmas album..... if it happens, I'm blaming you!! I can think of nothing worse Christmas albums are usually a good business move, though, and they keep selling over the years. I'm not totally against the idea, as I think they could give a nice pop-twist to some traditional songs. Plus, I bet they could make some fantastic originals. I'm thinking in something along the lines Leona Lewis' One More Sleep. This post has been edited by DoggySwami: 25th July 2014, 10:28 AM |

I'm thinking in something along the lines Leona Lewis' One More Sleep. One More Sleep was a great song, a real treat considering Christmas music is usually so annoying. It also was no.1 on iTunes although that was following Leona's X Factor performance. However the album itself didn't even go top 10 |

I think a Christmas album would be really likely. Two novelty album campaigns in a row (GH and Xmas) with minimal cost (i'm thinking alot of covers and a few originals if it's a Xmas album) with hopefully big profits to make up for the Living For The Weekend disaster.

A Christmas album would be a gem, I quite liked Kelly Clarkson's this Christmas just gone and Christina Perri's the Christmas before! Mollie (And Alfie....) were in the studio today! |

So assuming it's NOT a Christmas album, I'm hoping some of The Alias tracks make it on!

The fact that they're recording means NOTHING. If the Greatest Hits flops, I think they're pretty much done. And even if they end up releasing another album, they will release at least 2 singles beforehand, as usual.

The fact they are already spending money on studio sessions means they probably don't care too much about the sales of the GH. Even if it sells very little, it will have been free money and a profitable project.

I doubt they'd have made anything amazing from the last era sales so any money is good money right now, really. |

I wouldn't mind a Christmas album. I hated the idea that Leona would release a Christmas album initially, but it ended up boosting her back into the limelight and gave her a potential future Christmas classic. Although the album didn't go top 10 it sold well, and will probably sell every Christmas (like Buble and Rod Stewart).

A real good push on a GH album can do wonders, look at Girls Aloud it was a great turning point for them |

One More Sleep was a brilliant pop tune, and an original Christmas song. They'd need something like that, not usual Christmas cheese. |

Agreed - but then again maybe a bit of cheese would be good, like Disco Love? I bet it is a Christmas Album and Mollie and Alfie were doing a cover of Puppy Love Mollie King ft. Alfie |
