Apart from obviously already knowing 'Heartbeat' (you weren't lying about going super cheap Oliver ), cool to see Len Sander making another appearance, I really liked their previous Worldvision song. The Swiss music industry must not be too expansive for them to have shown up twice!

Yeah I'm pretty sure spinoffs aren't supposed to allow songs that have already been used. Vülker wasn't entering when 'Visele' was sent so fair enough if he missed that (and the version sent then was a remix) but Phil, 'PreGomesh' was a top 2 hit...!

(I'd have pointed this out already but Cameron didn't send the responses link to the mods afaia oops)

Thanks Frank,I'd never heard of them before but the wiki page on Hungarian music told me that they were one of the biggest acts there. This particular song seemed to be the most BJSC friendly of the ones I listened to.

I'm kind of curious to know what the other 13 countries on the list that no one claimed were. Mainly because I'm still a little bit confused as to how Zambia of all places made a shortlist of only 50 out of the ~200 countries in the world. I definitely got my wish of being given the most obscure country on here! (or at least top 3 along with Liechtenstein and Monaco due to their very tiny populations).

I see we didn't get entries from Hendinia, Pupok and Sandénia in the end.

(I mean trap as in the hip-hop genre, not the dance one, to avoid any disappointment xx)

I'm loving the song titles of 'Multivitamīnu multipaka' and 'Queen of Failureland' lmao. Also just a minor correction, prolly just a typo, my artists are Cholita Sound X King Doudou.

I'm not sure if I know this particular song, but I remember being quite endeared by Anima Sound System when I was hunting for a Hungarian song for the 2nd edition of this! So I approve of this artist choice. I remember a song called 'Tekerd' was really cool and kinda unusual haha.

Thanks for posting that Cameron! So there were 2 East Asian countries (three if you count Thailand from the southeast) but just all unlucky to not get picked. Kinda sad that no one got Iceland this time although the previous Icelandic Worldvision entries were a little hit or miss

The country selection is pretty much spot on imo! It obviously makes sense to have a bias to the European nations because the vast majority of countries outside of Europe (with a few obvious exceptions) would be pretty tough to find a wide selection of songs from, but it's nice to have a few of the non-European nations back in it like in the first Worldvision. I just find it a little funny that something as obscure as Zambia was one of the non-European ones you chose. I'm not complaining at all, I literally asked to get an obscure country!

Phil's idea could be a good one to implement for the future, so people don't get stuck with one of the more difficult countries but also always have an option to go for the more obscure one if they want to (I probably always would lol).

As a family we do 'country nights' and usually I find a song from each country, we've done every country from Uruguay to Botswana alphabetically and the only one I really struggled to find a song from was Bhutan as none of the songs are on Spotify but there's actually quite a few on Soundcloud. So yeah, pretty much every country is possible.

I know it's a bit off-topic but this sounds like a fun family activity tbh! When I was a kid, we had these cards with all the countries' flags on them and we'd play a guessing game and eventually I remembered all the European flags and a lot of the non-European flags too. I'd struggle a bit more now

So just unlucky we got nothing from East Asia. Fair, I guess, but I hope they get a bit of attention next time as they all have huge music industries and weird Laotian or whatever entries have been great highlights before.

But god yes that was the most comfortable Worldvision assignment ever. I was drowning in stuff even after I restricted myself to only Deutsch language.

My next main contest entry is also going to be in German now if that means anything, though it probably won’t

its not even just worldvision tho, the biggest problem i found when i did my lil mod stint in here was lack of voluntary hosts - everyone has an idea or something to say but when it comes down to it they're not willing to put in the work to make it happen - generally speaking... it's why i went out of my way to host as many as i could myself last year but honestly that's a lot of pressure to put on anyone and it shouldn't be down to the mods anyway but yea it's kind of the attitude of the site all over right now and it's incredibly frustrating to be on the other side of it and plan things for a forum as well

You're not wrong but that's only natural, ideas are far easier to voice than putting in the time to do something. And you certainly did do a lot of them last year, so that might have been too much. Because the ideal is that hosting is like a prize, not an obligation, it's far better for everyone that way.
