Hi,

A useful resource I think many might benefit from to help be more organised with the multitude of forum events could be a weekly forum calendar which could detail the following;
    - Scheduled listenthroughs for song contests, albums, artists back catalogues and more
    - Deadlines for rates, survivors, nominations, polls and of course song contest nominations and votes
    - Gaming sessions via Discord
    - The weekly chart show hosted by Joseph (plus midweek updates)
    - Any weekly sports predictions
    - Any other weekly activities that need prompting
I think many would find it convenient to see what is happening on any given day that they check, and whilst it wouldn't be necessary for ones to be notified of all updates, they could easily see what they had to get done by any date. It would save a lot of time checking threads for dates and times too.

Not sure yet how it could be implemented but I think it would be invaluable for a busy member community.

There is actually a Buzzjack Calendar - it's not utilised and it's hidden but one already exists so this could be quite easy to make use of. I'm having a little explore on the ACP now! http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?act=calendar

Just added it to the header at the top. You guys should be able to add events yourself at the bottom (subject to approval) so please feel free, I've added a few already!

Oh wow that happened fast! Something I suggested actually works??? ohmy.gif

This is definitely more interesting than I imagined given the interface and yes I can see at the bottom of the index the upcoming events too, what a clever feature that is! I wonder how this could be better utilised then given the suggested scenarios I mentioned in the OP. I wouldn’t want to have too many things in there but if members were encouraged to look at it from time to time and understood how to check for any updates that would be good.

I shall have a little go later on with some of the 2000’s events we have planned like quizzes and listenthroughs. happy.gif

I hadn't thought about it before but that's a great idea! Could be a good way of knowing stuff like deadlines without having to open and read all the threads kink.gif

It's something that's always been integrated into the forum! One less relic page of this site (god I was so tempted to delete the reviews page from the navbar x)

Just FYI it seems when a member tries to add an event, it gets added to some kind of queue for moderators to approve? Is this the case?

Is it possible to change the time period from 7 days on the main page?

It would be more helpful to know what’s on today and tomorrow otherwise it will become quite stagnant with the same things on repeat - plus it doesn’t actually work for things like voting deadlines if it’s just in the next 7 days - people will still think they’ve got ages left

I've turned moderation off for the time being but it'll go back on if people abuse the system by posting silly stuff so be warned x

Yes I agree. It needs to be inclusive events, not a summary of absolutely everything that people are doing. Listen throughs, new chart shows, deadlines for song contests etc feel about right.

Useful without feeling like spam

There's an option when creating events to make it a personal event, viewable only to yourself, as well, so if you want to use the calendar for your own Buzzjack reminders then please feel free to use that option!
