A pity if it’s not added to the album as well. Nice that it’s coming to streaming but it’s a bit of a waste if it doesn’t contribute to the album.

She is still trying to flog the deluxe. It's impact on her streaming album sales will be so small that it's better to try and get a few more physical albums sold. I suppose, though it feels like a stretch to me that Into You being added to digital and streaming sites as a single will have the effect of convincing many people to buy the £14 version of the CD album just because it includes it, at this stage.
I would have thought that Into You's widened availability would create less of an incentive to buy the deluxe album, with it being easily accessible digitally. So that's why I feel like it should have been tagged onto 'Melanie C', as well as being separate... because any streams of it will only go towards 'Into You' as a single. I know we'd likely be talking about a minimal streaming boost for the album, but every little helps! |

But 1 £14 album is about how much it will create in total being added to the album or not in equivalent streaming money.
For you and me that extra 5 streaming sales gets us wet but Melanie only gets the money for streams as individual songs so she doesn't get anymore if they make up an album sale. She does get more money though if it helps shift a few more deluxe albums physically. When I was told about Into You I was also told the album release was a mess financially as 100% really did screw her over and the multiple formats weren't cheap to produce. At this point, anyone who wanted the album already has it. She's not gonna shift anymore albums unless she gets more radio airplay with a new single.

That's not true there will be fans who only have the standard cd, I'm one of them. If she can convince me and casuals to pick up a deluxe copy it is job done.

i would have made the following an ep on streaming
1. Into You 2. Touch Me 3. Self Love 4. I Turn To You (love and light version) But then added the first 3 songs to the digital album. If Into You gets decent airplay fans will look to buy the album online rather than physically. This post has been edited by vibe: 30th November 2020, 05:29 PM |

Personally, I think she should just put a delux version of the album online for streaming, maybe with a couple of remixes attached to it to gather more attention. And then re-release the delux version of the album in physical format with the new remixes so that fans buy it again too. It would be a win-win situation. She would both get the coin AND the streams! |

I still don't think Into You being available to download and stream separately is going to encourage CD sales, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong!
Now if she had performed Into You at the Royal Variety instead of Blame It on Me, maybe I'd understand the logic... |
