Would love Shift K3Y and Wilkinson to do well this week, however unlikely that now looks. Not sure why Name and Number is doing this badly tbh - it's not as good as Touch or I Know but its not significantly worse either.
New Flux Pavilion as well this week, takes me back to 2011 and everybody at 6th form repping dubstep. I'm sure when people think back to the dubstep craze, the first song that comes to mind is Bangarang (or even Louder, but that was more watered-down). |

strictly speaking though Bangarang isn't dubstep. Wikipedia has its genres down as moombahcore, glitch hop, electro house and electronic rock. (although I agree more with the first two)

Looks like a poor chart week for new releases, hope Ella Eyre gets a top 15 new entry, as for Sheppard, 1 year too late Such a great track, hope the track stays up

Thanks. I did think it was a strange decision to bring it forward so much

Walk the Moon are suddenly up to 333 with 'Shut Up and Dance' on pre orders and that's before R1 playlisting comes into effect tomorrow

I really think they could bag themselves a #1 with this track, only time will tell and what other competition there is at the time. |

The drop is very dubstep. You are the resident dance expert though, so I'll take your word with it. Out of interest, what would you say the most enduring dubstep hit is then? |

Out of interest, what would you say the most enduring dubstep hit is then? no I'd say it's more moombahton than it is dubstep. Compare it with some of his more dubsteppy songs (Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites, Equinox (First of the Year), Ruffneck (Full Flex)) and you'll hear that it's not the same. That would be 'Louder', as you mentioned earlier. It was of course the first dubstep song to go to #1, and the other one (Nero's Promises) dropped off the chart very quickly and had very poor sales for a #1. |

What a mess for the Sheppard track - It was #1 in Australia 13 months ago and has been released all over Europe and beyond. Hope it makes the Top 40 although I'm sure if it had been released a lot sooner it would have been an easy Top 5.
