They were hanging on a bit at the end but that was a good win.

That's a really good win, but there's got to be either a severere tactical or mentality problem. I get 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline, but to revert to playing so badly in the second half vs the first half proposal, it does reek a lot of protecting what you have rather than delivering the killer blow. Often happens with England. A different night and we draw that game, when Italy should have been buried in the first half.

Completely agree with all this. Mind you had the Villa version of Grealish arrived at the scene rather than the City version, we'd be 3-0 and game over at HT.

I can't tell if the 0-0 scoreline tells a story of Slovakia's continued freefall at the international level or Luxembourg's version of a golden age the past few years with consistent decent results against countries you'd expect they'd have no business being in the game with.

Also, brutal result for Iceland as the continue to head back towards being minnows again.

Your playing Italy in Naples, one of the hardest tasks in international football, it’s a great result. I don’t know if England fans expect to win every game 3-0 or something 🤔

This Italy team is terrible though and on another day they get a draw out of that when it should have been game over at HT.

Matchday 1 Results - Friday

Group B
France 4-0 Netherlands
Gibraltar 0-3 Greece

Group E
Czech Republic 3-1 Poland
Moldova 1-1 Faroe Islands

Group F
Austria 4-1 Azerbaijan
Sweden 0-3 Belgium

Group G
Bulgaria 0-1 Montenegro
Serbia 2-0 Lithuania

Impressive wins for Czech Republic and Belgium. I think a lot of people thought that Belgium would begin to struggle now but it was great win away at Sweden.

Netherlands had quite a few big stars missing yesterday. I think they will still be fine when they get everyone back.

Matchday 1 Results - Saturday

Group A
Scotland 3-0 Cyprus
Spain 3-0 Norway

Group D
Armenia 1-2 Turkey
Croatia 1-1 Wales

Group I
Belarus 0-5 Switzerland
Israel 1-1 Kosovo
Andorra 0-2 Romania

Heartbreaking for Kosovo. They had a goal ruled out and then missed a sitter in the last minute. I watched the Wales game and they were very lucky to get a point there.
