A really dead week this week, it looks to me like Union J could possibly even be the highest new entry?
Posted by: { bré } Nov 30 2014, 12:04 AM
1 Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud 1.0000 2 Take That - These Days 0.8616
Olly 0.8724 and Taylor 0.8642 combined. (Of course Ed also has another version though so these and TT are actually lower).
Posted by: Ryan. Nov 30 2014, 12:05 AM
Ella, Taylor or Blonde for #1 please!
I would guess at Blonde being the highest new entry, I doubt Union J's X Factor performance will have much effect - at least not enough to overcome Blonde's overall higher popularity (judging by the pre-orders).
Posted by: mr_aly Nov 30 2014, 12:06 AM
OH of course, Blonde.

i'd be pretty stunned if they weren't. good airplay, big fanbase and an XF performance- I can see them being #1 in the first mids, then a few places lower by Sunday
Blonde should hopefully make the top 15, glad that looks set to do well anyhow!
(lol @ Ed's lead atm)
Posted by: { bré } Nov 30 2014, 12:08 AM
I could easily see Union J being the highest new entry and getting their biggest hit yet TBH, they seem to have a lot going for them. They could even possibly be #1 in the first mids.
Looking like it'll be Ed back at #1 unless his XF effect wears off very quickly or the XF effect for Ella / Union J is very big. Poor Olly, he really had a chance but I doubt he'll be able to come back from this especially as Ed has an even bigger streaming advantage than him! Although if he can do well from the This Morning promo maybe that could cancel out Ed's XF boost (I guess a fair amount of it went into today's chart).
Posted by: Santa Martin Nov 30 2014, 12:08 AM
Musical guests added, Ella is on Jonathan Ross next Saturday, some added boost.
Posted by: JosephStyles Nov 30 2014, 12:09 AM
I can see Blonde replicating The Magician tbh, I do think Union J's X Factor performance will push them ahead (it's had an effect for every performer this series, not noticeable for Taylor/Jessie J who were already pretty high anyway), plus they have 3 physicals in a bundle with a download too, plus the version with The Vamps which has been doing well on pre-orders too. I think it's set to give them a top 3 hit, or top 5 at the very least!

Can't believe I'm actually wanting a Union J song to be a genuine hit. 'You Got It All' is really good.
Posted by: Jason Nov 30 2014, 02:27 AM
Really surprised that Secondcity's What Can I Do is as high as #31 It's not in the Radio 1 and Capital FM playlists. There's no hype around it. It's far inferior to 'I Wanna Feel' imo . I can't understand.

Must have just been on pre-order for ages. I'd be surprised if it climbs any higher than #31.
Looks like it could possibly remove Secondcity's one hit wonder status (technically) though, hooray.
Just leaves the following acts who had a #1 this year as one hit wonders: Borgeous, Cody Wise, Jax Jones, Lilly Wood, MAGIC!, Meghan Trainor, Nico & Vinz, Oliver Heldens, Robin Schulz, Route 94 (plus technically Band Aid 30 and Gareth Malone's All Star Choir). Well Meghan and Oliver are guaranteed to get a second hit, Mr Probz pretty much is too, and Robin Schulz/Route 94 had another hit as a remixer (Robin's of course being bigger than his credited hit) so it's not as bad as it looks

Ed sheeran building towards another million seller, I hope union j do well as a lot rests on this single for them. Take that should hold up OK next week as the album version will be added.Olly is holding on very well too which is great,I'dlo e if eElla Henderson could make the top 10,the upcoming g top 10 is my fave of the year.
Yes at P Money's EP being top 100 Always felt he was too closely associated with the dubstep phase tbh.
Great to see Blonde top 10! Nico & Vinz and Secondcity songs are all right, but not a patch on their Number 1s.

I can see Ella climbing massively after her X Factor performance tonight, possibly even challenging for the number one. The song is great and her live performance of it will hopefully be amazing!

No, Blonde as in: two Bristol lads who did a really good re-working of "Rhythm Of The Night". Then did a piss-weak-Lidl-lite version of "White Noise" and called it "I Loved You" which everyone preceded to inexplicably love.

It's a bit too early to say but this is looking to be their biggest hit yet imo. I may be completely off the mark here but I can't see it falling as quickly as Tonight (We Live Forever) at all.

Don't think they can just happen across lots more new boy band fans to sustain them. Although admittedly hooking up with the Vamps single tomorrow may give it more legs than usual... But that's for the Vamps not UJ.

Strange to see Tiesto follow two pretty huge smashes with a song likely to come nowhere near the top 200. What happened!?! Likewise poor Nico & Vinz, it's hardly that much worse than Am I Wrong to deserve such an embarrassing flop

Well none of their other songs have had the exposure this has had (ie. an X Factor performance and Heart airplay) That's why I think it'll be their biggest hit yet. Could see it at least doing similarly to Labrinth's Jealous, maybe even better cause the song is higher pre-performance.
Posted by: HonkyBonkington Nov 30 2014, 02:27 PM
It is quite surprising for N&V to be flopping. I thought a month or two ago it would have been a easy top 5 hit. How wrong was I. Guess that's what you get for no promoting gentleman.
Posted by: #IMPACT!! Nov 30 2014, 02:45 PM
They should self-promote like GaGa did and get an organic hit like C2C.

I'm sure there are other stations playing it, but for the charts it's mainly Capital FM that matters (Radio 1 also matters, and Heart FM a bit, the other stations have a negligible effect in my experience).
But also this song is nowhere near as good as Am I Wrong (at least in my opinion).

It's unlikely they'll need that many CD sales to contend for a return to the top (for a week anyway, the XF winner the following week will of course be a much bigger challenger) so I think it's very possible.

O, not as big an immediate effect as I was expecting for Ella. Maybe that's just a 'partial update' though who knows ~
Union J definitely heading for #1 in the first mids at this rate it seems, especially with the Vamps version out tomorrow - could they even get #1 for the whole week?! A very Westlife-esque song from them, this career path could be much more fruitful for them than their previous 1D ripoffs.

Absolutely
I predict UJ will lead with a few hundred to a few thousand copies ahead on Tues, or TOL will beat them by only a little. They will then get about 5k or so lead all week up until maybe Friday TOL or perhaps Blank Space will catch up but as always streams flow more at the weekend

Come on Union J get that #1! They have massive single signings this week too.
Ella not getting the boost expected however her album has surged up, The GP are now aware of some of her songs so have got the album instead of the single.
Posted by: Jonjo Nov 30 2014, 10:04 PM
Sales must be on course for about 50k for the number 1 if Union J have made that ground up as fast as they have done? Impressed for them though. (As I keep mentioning, I'll stop now, sorry )

That boost for Union J is pretty big! Could end up #1 tomorrow.
Posted by: Joe Ho Ho. Nov 30 2014, 10:11 PM
Ella's performance has given the album a big boost. So even if the single doesn't, I can imagine the album will re enter the top 10.
Posted by: JimmyT Nov 30 2014, 10:14 PM
To be fair UnionJ did a very good professional job, as did Ella (as expected).
Still think 'Ella's team' did very little promo for this and there was no buzz leading up to the performance (no new single pack, no video). That said Chapter One is now #8 and climbing which I guess was a major aim.
Posted by: JosephCarey Nov 30 2014, 10:14 PM
To Be fair, Yours has climbed a good 50 or so places, that's a good boost I think I think it will go top 10 within 24 hours, can see it doing similarly to Like I Can.

I thought it would boost the album more than the song for Ella. But good news is that heart playlisted yours, so hopefully airplay will pick up as the week progresses to help stabalise and perhaps even boost it higher once the X-factor effect wears off.
Also - Leona Lewis "Run" to #102 & "One More Sleep" at #136.

I hope Leona's OMS is on there.

I'd love some different XMAS tracks get more of a boost as well as the usual Wham, Mariah etc who always benefit the most. Stay Another Day would be a prime example. Would love it to re-enter the top 40 or top 50 at least

Ella is at 16 now. I reckon top 10 tomorrow.
- the thing with the Leona updates is that, regardless of whether you're a fan or not, it's interesting to see if a Christmas song that isn't decades old, can become a reoccurring hit. There have a been a few attempts from Coldplay etc, but they've never managed to come close to becoming a modern Christmas classic. The updates of Leona could probably be scaled back a little and are probably a bit full on (I'm obviously guilty of that too) but I do think it would be exciting to see NEW Christmas song managing continuing success year after year, and that's why watching One More Sleep on iTunes is interesting.

Anyway sales are going to be pretty awful, the #1 is likely only selling around 6K/day at the moment, which means a weekly sale of around 40-45K (plus streaming) so around 55-60K for Sheeran.
Band Aid 30 seem to be in red now on Kworb so could be falling quite a bit this week.

They usually just have post album single releases impacting in December to boast album sales in the busiest weeks when people are actually in shops and buying physical music. So December is like the culmination of the year and campaign rather than a new single being released.

He sold over 55,000 copies last week so with the boost from X Factor I'm pretty sure he'll sell more this coming week.
As usual Union J will trail off horribly as the week progresses and with lack of streaming Ed will take the #1.
Posted by: Santa Martin Dec 1 2014, 11:24 AM
Only need to get 50k to 55k #1 single next week, bit of a sales crash for the #1 single (see sales thread topic), I think Ed Sheeran might still get it. I can see Union J trailing off to be honest later in the week, unless they have some promo.

I guess it will depend on how big UJ's initial lead is in the first midweek update - as it will probably be eaten away over the course of the week by Ed and TT.

I don't get why people keep saying that. They wouldn't do that well on streaming anyway so they're only missing about 3 or 4k at best. It is a silly move not to be available to stream, but it's not like they couldn't get to number 1 without it. It all depends on how they keep selling during the week.

Even if it ends up somewhere in the top five it would be result for them. Their highest charting single was at #6 I believe?
Posted by: Michael Bubré Dec 1 2014, 01:21 PM
Yeah Union J's lack of streaming isn't really that relevant, they'd get no more help from streaming than Take That did last week. They'll be #1 if they have a big initial lead and hold up fairly well. With their physical sales and whatnot I suspect they will have a pretty big lead in the first mids, quite possibly enough to secure #1 in the sales chart this week... so we are back in the position of a potential streaming-affected #1. *dramatic music*
Kinda hope they do get it just for the hilarity of them getting a #1 when One Direction couldn't this year. Obviously 1D are still way bigger overall and 'You Got It All' is not likely to hang around for THAT long (though I'm sure it'll have better longevity than any of their previous singles) but still! The song isn't bad either. And like, it'd be a more ~interesting~ #1 than just a return for Ed as much as I still like 'Thinking Out Loud'.
Ugh at Ella looking like potentially stalling at #11 She is still in dark green at the moment but there's a gap of 0.08 to overcome still. (Then again she did gain 0.06 in the last update so maybe she will close it...)

Really pleased for Union J. Hope they have a shot of making it officially. They need this to hang around for a bit and become a real hit though.

That wasn't really a surprise seeing as the sales were off the back off a highly anticipated remix by Calvin Harris.
Had the actual slowdown original made it then I think maybe it could lay claim. BU tI don't think anyone was expected UJ to have such a big increase post XF performance. Everyone thought it was probably going to be Ella reaping the biggest benefit

Nope. They've made it "private" for some bizarre reason And obviously not on Spotify etc...
Oh and can we all not forget that Ella HAS had a big increase... just because she isn't top 10, doesn't mean she's had "little impact". The song (and album) have received a massive boost!

I remember some people thought the song wouldn't even go top 40 (which I think was silly, since given how high the original was on iTunes before release, it was obviously going to get top 40 with the remix getting released, but I don't think many people expected #1). Also, I don't think Capital FM started playing the song until after it got to #1, so it got there just from Radio 1 support really.

Incredible for Union J if they keep #1 especially as they were looking like being on the verge of getting dropped as their lead single spent 2 weeks in the charts with a chart run of 9-74-out!
Am sure now they have added 2 extra versions to iTunes and have the single bundle which counts as 4 sales alongside their signings in Morrisons this week should be enough to snatch the #1 position!

I think it's more down to that fact barely anyone had heard Union J's single before the XF. They've reached out to a different audience, as well as their core fanbase with this. The UK public love a big simple, pop ballad in the winter. This is very radio friendly enough to appeal to anyone who watches XF I think.

You see worst on here for other artists but when Leona fans post they get attacked "do you need to post this"

Good news! Love it when the Pogues do better, even though I enjoy both songs.

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 2 2014, 06:50 PM
Modern Christmas songs.
99 Leona Lewis One More Sleep 118 Ariana Grande Santa Tell Me 392 & 471 Coldplay Christmas Lights 511 Kelly Clarkson Underneath the Tree
Coldplay are doing reasonably well, I'd be really happy if they managed the top 100 this year. 59p obviously helping. Kelly doing better than I expected, but I'd love to see her in the top 200.

So glad Leona is finally top 100.
I see Itunes put up the seasonal Christmas 59p songs, which doesn't include Leona, which is a shame.

I'm considering to do so. I would have just listened to it on Spotify but they haven't made it available there.

Blank Space will never be even top 2 without Spotify... it will lose 15K each week to ED or someone else. I just hate it! This is so number 1 materiel.

I wouldn't say 'never', it is quite likely that if she receives a boost in 'gift card' week (when the market is generally up by 50% or so) the streaming disadvantage she has will be obliterated.
Posted by: steve201 Dec 2 2014, 08:36 PM
I don't think it matters if Taylor gets iTunes No1 it's Ed that's most likely to beat Union J and the fact it's Tuesday and he's still ground to make up could signal a shock No1!?
Lol 59p Xmas songs - do they normally last until Xmas day? Could be like the early download period this Xmas in the chart with that plus the streaming effect!

Is it me or does there seem to be even more ballad/charity/Christmas songs around than normal?? That would explain why all of them aren't climbing.
Posted by: SNOWING ADAM Dec 2 2014, 08:43 PM
Why can't Taylor go on a massive performance show and perform Blank Space? If you're not going to allow streaming, you could be the first no-stream girl #1!

It always used to be a ballad-y time of year but I think the levels this year are up a bit on previous years. The 1D and Union J tracks are great pop songs though so its good for a change.

Yeah as neither song is particularly great.
They ruined their winning formula using Tom Odell for the charts. Not that they care about the charts when the advert's been such a success, of course.
Band Aid is :l and the controversy didn't help.

I was hoping Leona would be a bit higher by this point, but the fact it is on the edge of the top 100 ahead of some christmas classics is promising. If she had a 59p price, the song would shoot right up. I would have expected the label to do more to make sure One More Sleep has some impact this year. Kind of crucial to make sure it gets some follow up success if they want it to be something that becomes a christmas classic and sells year on year.
Posted by: Eric_Blob Dec 2 2014, 10:22 PM
^ I agree. I think it's a good investment for a record label to promote a song like this each year for a few years, since after a few years it'll get to the point where it'll sell (and get airplay) without them needing to promote it at all.

It'll hopefully feature on the Christmas compilations next year to help it out. Shame it isn't in the 59p batch, perhaps next week? As I'm pretty sure the 59p songs changed from week to week last year (I think Mariah was 59p for a week or two then put back to 99p). Doing well so far though, going top 100! Hopefully it'll climb more on iTunes as the week goes on and scrape the top 100 officially on Sunday.

The old label (Syco) can still do whatever they want with the releases they already put out as Leona would still get royalties. Should be trying to get it on one of the Christmas ads. Same goes for Leona as she can still use any of the material she put out with them (she certainly is not going to suddenly stop singing Bleeding Love because she didn't release it with Island), but I am guessing she is just focusing on get album #5 sorted out rather than doing anything to keep the last record alive.

I assume you're referring to it disappearing from Kworb? Not sure why that's happened as it still seems to be on iTunes itself.
Meanwhile one of The Pogues' versions seems to be appearing and disappearing on the iTunes feed itself (again despite still being available) Perhaps the same happened to Mariah earlier hence the disappearance from Kworb.

I'm hoping for 'Out Of The Woods' next, but that or 'Style' wouldn't be such bad choices either.
I too can't believe how much I like this new Taylor Swift material, I pretty much despised everything about her before this era (except a couple of guilty pleasure songs).

Nothing's really been said, but it seems that they've just cancelled it. The way the pre-orders were going it was looking like totally bombing so they'll probably just push a different single or try it again in the new year when it's quiet.

How high did 'Sledgehammer' eventually get/where did it peak? I do think 'Bo$$' will be a bigger hit for them, 'Sledgehammer' seems a bit "safe". In a similar way to how we all expected Rita Ora's 'How We Do' to be a bigger hit than 'R.I.P'.

'Fairytale Of New York' is also 59p including most Christmas songs apart from 'All I Want For Christmas'.
01. Taylor Swift - Blank Space 100% 02. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud 79.9% 03. Take That - These Days 75% 04. Union J - You Got It All 70.4%
Combined 01. Taylor Swift - Blank Space 100% 02. Take That - These Days 90.4% 03. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud 87% 04. Union J - You Got It All 75.5%
Looking likely that Union J will finish at #04 this week which is still a rather good achievement, had they not had X-Factor it no doubt would have missed the top 10 as it's freefalling pretty quickly now. Union J have pretty much shot themselves in the foot by having no audio / video on Youtube and no streaming.

It's more Taylor that he has to worry about on the sales chart. On sales alone he's, as of today's mids, 7k behind Union J but only 2k ahead of Taylor. There's no way he'll lose the overall #1 now but even if he closes the Union J gap Taylor probably will too and it's not unfeasible for her to gain on Ed by 2k in the last 3 days.
I would be inclined to think Ed will take the sales #1 as well but not by a large margin at all.

Posted by: Ryan. Dec 4 2014, 05:54 PM
'Sledgehammer' is on its way to become their biggest US radio hit so far from what I gather, but 'Bo$$' is probably more unique and will result in either a very big hit or nothing at all from one performance whereas 'Sledgehammer' would probably be the safer choice but only be a smaller-sized hit from one performance.
Posted by: mr_aly Dec 4 2014, 05:57 PM
I don't honestly see what good performing 'Bo$$' over 'Sledgehammer' will do, especially as that song flopped in the US and some of the terms they use in the song aren't even relevant in the UK. I know I said it in their thread, but it really dumbfounds me.
'Sledgehammer' could show what they're capable of vocally and has bags more hit potential, plus it's set to actually outperform 'Bo$$' in the US. Baffling...

Where do people expect BOSS to peak?,its not getting any radio play at all is it?,are both the pre-orders for Sledgehammer and BOSS still up and both 99p?
They are bundled together with 'Bo$$' as the A-side and 'Sledgehammer' as the B-side, and it you get both songs for just 99p!
It's not getting any airplay, I think it could go top 20 actually (following the X Factor performance) as the pre-order is still rising very nicely.

Coldplay's 'Christmas Lights' at #266 and #316, looks like it'll very comfortably be top 200 for a fifth Christmas in a row. Here's hoping for a fourth top 100 appearance. Really pleased that this seems to have entered the Christmas classics canon (at least much moreso than any other Christmas song since The Darkness, apart from potentially Leona)
Justin Bieber's 'Mistletoe' is still doing fairly respectably as well actually, at #324.

Oh wow, how come that's entered pretty high? It wasn't top 1500 yesterday, was it? The video premiered almost a week ago, so it just seems like a random time
Also, I think 'Bo$$' is the one being promoted Bre. Could 'Sledgehammer' be one of those B-Sides which gets enough cherry picks to chart top 100 though? (Maybe not with streaming being included).

It's the album rather than the single. Still higher than I would have thought for that though.

I saw Underneath the Tree on MTV last night - its video is pretty poor - seems to be just a live performance. A better vid could have got her better plays in future years imo. She still looks in it though!

I think #87 is pretty decent at this point for Leona - it takes time to build up a Christmas classic. Hopefully Leona and her management will try and milk it, but her parting with SyCo will probably prevent that.

Well since 2007 (i.e. in the download era): 2007 #4 2008 #12 2009 #18 2010 #22 2011 #11 (start of the 59p offers I believe) 2012 #20 2013 #12
1994 was obviously #2 and it wasn't in the Christmas top 75 of any subsequent years until the download era, may have possibly re-entered the top 200 but I couldn't answer that.
For The Pogues (who also charted in 2005/6 due to the CD re-release in 2005): 2005 #3 2006 #6 2007 #4 2008 #12 2009 #12 2010 #17 2011 #13 (lower peak than Mariah but they were ahead in the Christmas week, Mariah peaked earlier) 2012 #12 2013 #14

40. Torn Apart (Bastille vs. GRADES) - Bastille & Grades
This release seems to have been handled awfully, it's just been released as a single after being held back for ages (so long that it's already off the R1 playlist). So pointless to release it NOW when the EP is out in a couple of days anyway (which would give it a full week of sales)

I believe the high peak of No12 & 14 last year was the full week of sales prior to xmas day (inc xmas eve)?
2005 was really the Pogues big chance of a No1 - i remember they re-released the song on CD/Vinyl (of which i purchased both) and so it was chart eligible because at the time a physical had to be available. Then there was the controversy with the banning of the swear words by radio 1 which actually made the main news bulletins and sales were obv atrocious in 2005 (apart from the No1/2 which i think was Shayne Ward on humongous sales and Nizlopi which sold a hell of alot in its 2nd week something like 190k)!

Huh, you're right. Why do I have it in my head that it gets performed every year? I could SWEAR I remember it being performed a couple of times and I didn't even watch the 2007 series. Maybe I'm thinking of Strictly Come Dancing or something.

Well it wasn't a single, but I think Daniel did "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" by Whitney before the album was released.

Well, technically every winner's single fits that description (and the group charity singles they used to do too).
I think it was Cher Lloyd who performed Cooler Than Me and Jedward who performed Barbra Streisand? I remember the latter since Simon Cowell said he thought it would get to #1 despite the fact that Joe McElderry had his lead single out the same week! I was a bit surprised he said that about his own artist on the show that he won (even if it was obvious he wasn't getting #1).
I remember someone performing an album track from an un-released album before, I think it might have been a Whitney Houston album? I think the X Factor performance could've even been its world premiere.
Posted by: zenon Dec 5 2014, 06:38 PM
Wasn't 'Turn My Swag On' not yet released when Cher Lloyd sang it at her audition?
Posted by: Slade Dec 5 2014, 07:02 PM
It was Diva Fever who performed 'Barbra Streisand', in 2010, so the winner would've been Matt Cardle, as well. I think both the Soulja Boy and Keri Hilson 'Turn My Swag On' versions were on iTunes already, but just were generally unheard of by the British public so impacted, as opposed to having an upcoming release date. The Alexa Goddard version benefited the most anyway chart-wise, and that wasn't released until a good couple of months after!
Posted by: Michael Bubré Dec 5 2014, 07:24 PM
The proper Keri Hilson version of 'Turn My Swag On' wasn't available (I think it still isn't unless it was quietly added at some point?), the version that charted was a bootleg version by Greg Street (which used Keri's vocals and credited her as a featured artist along with Soulja Boy).
The original Soulja Boy version also charted a bit lower down.

8 weeks at #1 seems slightly optimistic
Maybe she could release it as her winners track, but I doubt that will happen, I'm sure Simon will have something else up his sleeve.

I hope Ariana can get top 40 this week (with 'Love Me Harder'), if it could be her only chance.

'Uptown Funk' really is going to be humongous isn't it?
Has anyone ever done a rendition of a soon to be released single before?
(From memory I think somebody did 'Cooler Than Me' in 2010?)
Yeah Cher Lloyd did it, and that clip is now famous for being the "it wasn't me" girls not flushing the toilet video!

I'd rather 'Santa Tell Me' made it instead I'm hooked.

25 Budapest
On Alan Carr at the moment too (albeit performing Listen to the Man), so could get another boost in a few hours.

Thanks for the combined update - interesting to see Wizzard well ahead of Slade again this year - the later in the mid 50s while Mr Wood and co in the top 30. Their yearly battle is like the 70s version of the Pogues vs Mariaah in a way!
Also The Killers still top 50 - hopefully they can get another top 100 entry maybe even top 75. Doubt it will beat the peak of Feel it in my Bones (70) or Boots (53) and def not Don't Shoot me Santa (which I think was the only physically released Xmas single by them - got it myself in 2007!
Posted by: Doctor Blind Dec 5 2014, 10:39 PM
The Killers had sold around 1.8K up to midnight y'day, so I reckon they will be lucky to get to 4K by the end of business tomorrow. That'll be good for a #90 debut.
Posted by: steve201 Dec 5 2014, 10:58 PM
Not bad top 100 for a Tuesday release. I'm not sure of the top 100 positions of the other Xmas songs they released!

Ah cheers DB I'm sure it depended on the day of release and stuff but the decent ones generally did best - most made the iTunes top 40 and the first A Great Big Sled would have been top 10 but there was no physical out when the download went into the iTunes top 10 in 2006 so wasn't eligible to chart.

21. Listen to the Man - George Ezra (also #247) 25. Budapest - George Ezra (also #208, #613 and #885) 26. Blame It on Me - George Ezra (also #87 and #256)

13. One Direction - Night Changes
Hope it can keep climbing and get a respectable peak next week!

Hope 'Listen To the Man' can keep climbing. A nice, little infectious pop song. So much more bearable than the dull 'Budapest'! 'Blame It On Me' is my favourite of his so far though.

I can see Uptown Funk being #1 for at least 3-4 weeks in the New Year and being in the year-end top 10.

Looks like Bastille has released 'Torn Apart' early. It's at #38. Hope this can officially get into the Top 40 next week!

It was supposed to be Monday, but I guess some stores must have already had their stock in, so have put it out.

Pixie was on that cooking show this morning. They showed a few clips of the CoL video so I'm guessing that's behind the climb.

Bring Me The Horizon's pre-order has really done amazingly well, they must be heading for a top 40 hit at least on sales.
Posted by: mr_aly Dec 6 2014, 06:33 PM
CHVRCHES doing really well, possible top 20 with this? Or maybe a similar performance to Years & Years - Desire.

I think BMTH could go top 40 officially actually, one of those rare moments when rock actually does decently in the chart
Posted by: Ryan. Dec 6 2014, 09:07 PM
I wonder how high Fleur's version of Uptown Funk will go considering the original is only available to pre-order (which of course will zoom up the charts as well)?
