Has anybody seen this? It stars Lisa Kudrow (who is also co-producer) as Fiona Wallace, a therapist pushing the concept of 'web therapy' whereby her clients only get three minutes with her rather than an hour, and their sessions take place over webcam.

It's an improvised comedy which airs online. Over the course of seasons one and two each story is told in three parts, each about five minutes long, and usually features one guest star (some well known actors such as Jane Lynch, Courteney Cox Arquette and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have guested), and then in season three most of the episodes are just one-parters which last for about ten minutes.

Basically though all you need to know is that it is QUITE AMAZING. Lisa Kudrow has absolutely mastered the art of awkward dry humour and her facial expressions alone will have you on the floor.

Fiona starts out as a pretty horrible character who lies compulsively and is only a therapist so she can talk to her clients about her own life, but by season three she's mellowed out a lot and spends most of her time looking quite bemused by the people around her, whether it's her useless secretary Jerome (who is only her secretary because her bad advice got him fired from his old job when he was her client) or her hysterical sister Shevaun, also a therapist.

EVERYBODY should check this out. The reaction's been so positive that even though it was only made as a web series it's been picked up by Showtime to air on TV in the US. It's also perfectly easy to get into since the episodes are so short. If anybody needs a taster to decide whether or not it's for them I recommend watching Season 1 Episode 1 first. I guarantee you'll laugh yourself senseless.

First three done and it is as amazing as I could have hoped.

Lisa Kudrow is just fabulous. Her facial expressions and obvious want to laugh are hilarious! End of ep 3 had me rotf.gif!

Just watched the first episode- it's brilliant! Lisa is such a natural comic.

I've bookmarked it now and will watch a different episode every day. I can't wait for the Jane Lynch episode.

"You're muted now and I can't hear you because the session has ended." laugh.gif I don't think much of the first episode. I also haven't seen her stifling any sort of laugh yet? unsure.gif I shall persevere though!

Fiona trying to explain why she was at the same restaurant as her ex when he was planning to propose to his girlfriend...

Ex: "It was awkward to see you at [restaurant] on Thursday."
Fiona: "Well it's my husband's favourite restaurant and I had plans to be there so..."
"I didn't see a husband."
"Well he wasn't there... I was meeting a friend."
"I didn't see a friend."
"Well she didn't show up... actually".
"So you were just... there? It's just... it put Sheila off when you joined us."

laugh.gif I'm also aware this is QUITE quotable so I will stop.

I'm just catching up on the last few episodes from episode 3 now. Meryl Streep did a three episode arc (which I can't WAIT to get to) after bumping into Lisa Kudrow at some awards do and telling her that she loved the show and wanted to guest in it. That's what I call ACCLAIM.

So glad someone bumped this, I hadn't seen the thread beforehand. I hated Friends so never understood the Lisa Kudrow appeal until HBO's 'The Comeback' (which was cancelled way too early, sob) but this is rather brilliant too. It also starts on Showtime this summer.

Web Therapy
Tuesday, July 19th at 11 PM ET/PT
30 Minutes, 10 Episodes

Web Therapy stars Emmy Award-winning actress Lisa Kudrow as “Dr. Fiona Wallice,” a self-professed psychotherapist who treats patients via webcam in weekly, three-minute sessions – a modality she believes more effective than the traditional 50-minute talk-a-thons heralded by other mental health professionals. However, she spends more time feigning boredom, interrupting and giving meaningless personal data than hearing her patient’s issues. Her “patients” including Jane Lynch (“Glee”), Courteney Cox (“Cougar Town”), Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation”), and, veteran star Bob Balaban (“For Your Consideration”), among others, are given a script framework, but ad-lib their performances with riotous results. The series will also delve into the doctor’s personal life and will feature Lily Tomlin as her mother and Victor Garber (“Alias”) as her husband.

I've watched all of the Web Therapy webisodes. Absolutely love them. Although it's a shame there doesn't seem to be new ones. I guess the episodes heading to tv will just be the ones aired on the internet and not new episodes.

I think if it's a success when it airs on Showtime they'll produce more new webisodes/episodes. Hope so anyway! My favourites are still the ones with Julia-Louis Dreyfus as Fiona's horrible sister.
