Watched the second run of the first Ladies' Kranjska Gora Giant Slalom last night. Gret to see so many high bib numbers up there in the Top 30 but I dread to think what happened in the first run to get them all there laugh.gif

Unfortunately I'm limited to Ski Sunday for my winter sports fix, sad.gif

I'm only watching them through Youtube! It's interestting (and sometimes quite amusing) listening to people commentating in German/Polish and having no idea what they're saying.

Ooh think I missed Ski Sunday making its return last week! (edit: seems it was actually three weeks ago) Think I might actually just prefer watching the individual events on YouTube now I've started though whoops

Was good to see Marie Michelle Gagnon get a podium all the way back from Bib 29!

Also appear to have missed the fact that the Ski World Championships start in two days time, excitement cheer.gif

So I was getting myself all worked up that I couldn't access the BBC's coverage of the Super G... turns out everything's been postponed for three days thanks to the weather tongue.gif

Aaand it's finally started! Just watched the men's Super G, WHAT a mad race laugh.gif The first three skiers skiing out in the first 10 seconds, and then a load of the late starters geting high-up positions! Certainly got me in the mood for the rest of the contest (probably a good thing as I've got the Women's Super G and the Snowboard Cross still to watch wink.gif)

Whoever is commentating on the Snowboard Cross they do like saying 'wow' a lot.

The American commentator kept using the first names of all the racers instead of the surnames as if he knew them all personally, it was so confusing laugh.gif

Great win for Charlotte Bankes though, good to see a GB win in the winter sports! even if she's spent most of her life in France

Another good race in the Women's Downhill - no big surprises other than maybe Gut-Behrami not winning it though. Ester Ledecka but be pretty annoyed at finishing 4th in both races so far!

Shame to see Oliver Davies just miss out on the podium in the Ski Cross but a fantastic result nonetheless given that he wasn't expected to even make it out the heats!

That Parallel giant slalom... seemed ridiculously unfair? laugh.gif Whichever skiier went in the blue lane first and then the red lane basically had a massive advantage in every heat. Oh well, it meant we got some unexpected finalists at least.

Another exciting race in the Women's Slalom! Alex Tilley doing moderately well as well for Team GB.

Another thrilling run with the Men's Giant Slalom, particularly with two of the Top 3 in the first run not making it past the first few gates in the second ohmy.gif And a brilliant World Champs for Faivre too getting his second gold!

A nod of respect for Tiziano Gravier making the Top 30 from a bib in the 60s as well, don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

Aaand the championships are over! A bit of a let-down on the Men's Slalom with only the Top 15 going in reverse order, incredibly unfair on the people from 16-30 which was particularly shown as none of them got higher than any of the Top 15 (excluding all of them finishing higher than Noel). A great set of races anyway, and on with the World Cup!

That's annoying, I hope they don't do that for the Olympics with the Slalom much prefer the Top 30 in reverse order.
