Who's heard the original version then? It's not by Joan Jett. It's by the Arrows from 1975 and was written by two of their members.

I can't begrudge the cause, but this seriously is aural diarrhoea and I don't get how sausage rolls is even funny. I hope he doesn't do it every year and become the replacement for an X-Factor coronation single.

I think desperate is a bit strong, he’s just having fun in the name of a good cause. I doubt he expected either single to take off the way they have and will probably only go for the record because lightning struck twice already.
