Did you see it Polly? You seemed so excited but haven't commented on what you thought!? I thought it was wonderful! I had seen it four times on stage both with Sheridan and Natasha but it translated to the big screen so well because all the facial expressions could be seen. The action was much closer and it incorporates every emotion! Hilarious but sometimes so sad! Sheridan is incredible....such a bundle of energy and she and Darius work so well together Even D's dancing had considerably improved! Darius looked so handsome ......and it was a real bonus having him talk all about his audition at the Menier Chocolate Factory during the interval. I hope this is included if a DVD is released. Apparently Natasha Barnes was at our cinema with her parents....I didn't speak to her but friends of ours did......such a shame she couldn't somehow be included! I thought it was weird that D's name did not appear on the credits until the second page!! and also strange why he did not promote it in any way......I can only assume that he is too involved in his film production work and that theatre/music is not his top priority at this time! Having said that.....as Funny Girl was shown all over the world I hope offers will be flooding in after seeing/hearing how wonderful he is on screen! Julie I was hoping to but unfortunately in the end I couldn't get there. I'm still hoping to see it at some point or maybe they will extend it in cinemas given it's sold well and I'm sure it was great all round and will be worth the wait. Hoping for a dvd I was watching the one show tonight and Sheridan Smith was on and the first question she was asked was did someone tell you to shut up at your own show this week, she said yea she went to see funny girl with her boyfriend and she was explaining it to him because he had never seen it and someone told her to shut up because she was talking really loud then she said I know it's probably really bad to go to the cinema to see my own show I probably should of just waited for the dvd. She says it really quick but I'm sure she confirmed there will be a dvd. |

I really thought I would have to wait till next year to see it. Can't believe I'm going to get to see it this year after all and I WILL get to see it this time as I have that channel. Only a maximum of seven weeks of the year left so not long to wait So excited I wonder if me messaging them all the time about when it will be broadcast had anything to do with them broadcasting it within two months of it being in the cinema . FHTE was at least four months after being in the cinema I think so I was expecting funny girl to be on next year This post has been edited by Polly: 11th November 2018, 10:54 PM |

For anyone who is planning to watch or record funny girl on Sunday. On programme listings it doesn't just say funny girl it actually says digital theatre but then if you press on information on your remote it says funny girl. Thought I'd let you all know in case people got confused as to why it didn't just say funny girl at 8pm
