Never saw The Hateful Eight as it had an 18 age rating so her would be my ranking of the rest:
1 Alicia Vikander
2 Kate Winslet
3 Rooney Mara
4 Rachel McAdams

Alicia Vikander would easily be my pick here, so much raw emotion and she acted the hell out of the role, I'd have definitely nominated her for this over Ex Machina so I'm glad the history books will say the same. In an ideal world, she'd have been nominated in both lead and supporting but then she'd probably be Oscar-less so I'm not so sure (even then, it would have been nice to see Winslet get a second!). Kate always does a good job and this was no exception, she does a great job of bringing a more human side to her character and I think her accent was pretty realistic to the real Joanna too. Mara was good but I did prefer Blanchett, she really should've been a lead too but then there would be some savage cuts from that category sad.gif McAdams had very little to do really but she was good with what she was given and it was nice to see her finally get a nomination.

It would've been nice to see Helen Mirren get a fifth nomination too as she's always picking good roles (and was snubbed for Hitchcock too recently) but I haven't seen the film actually.
