It has occurred to me that one of the best ways of sharing our favourite music now is through Spotify playlists. With that in mind, here's a big list of those that have been compiled by the forum.

Amazing. Oh my goodness Hot Dance Hits UK is going to become big as it is named a lot after the other big playlist!

You should make another one just called 'Dance Music' for a lot of the new dance less likely to make the charts (a lot of which JOTA posts on his DANCE ANTHEMS thread). The name 'Dance Music' is not used for another playlist as I can see on Spotify and I am sure a lot of people type 'dance music' into Spotify so that simple name would be great.

I wish Baby and King Kong were higher up on the playlist but at least they are there. I suppose we can move them up in the coming weeks once the older stuff like Jax Jones is removed.

Inaya Day - Nasty Girl on the 00s dance throwback surprised me, that one is quite a forgotten tune these days but of course a mid 00s funky house classic!

Would love to see Kurtis Mantronik - How Did You Know added to that list, top 20 song from 2003 and one of the best funky house songs of the 00s imo. :dance:

You missed Freemasons - Watchin', can you please put that one in? I know you can't put every top 20 dance song in from the 00s but that one is possibly the most progressive funky house song from the 00s in how it builds to climaxes so definitely deserves to be there imo.

danG, your 00s dance playlist is great, must have taken a long time to compile that! I like the trance songs I had forgotten/didn't know from 2000 and 2001, Aurora and Naimee Colman - Ordinary World is interesting as it is sounds like a precursor to the DJ Sammy covers a few years later, maybe not quite as poppy though. And Ralph Fridge - Angel in particular is excellent, a bit like Paffendorf - Be Cool with its lively pre buildup part but with a much better buildup and drop.

Had an idea I've put together where I wanted to celebrate a different year of dance.

I've started with 2007 in my https://open.spotify.com/user/lgx17/playlist/1JZAn3WlkKbm6kAapLOJSG playlist where I'm intending to update it monthly with big hits, remixes and some lesser known songs.

I apologise if you're favourite is missing but I wanted to keep it to 50 tracks.
Also the version of T2's Heartbroken has altered vocals for reasons unknown but it's the only version available

Happy listening! 2007 was actually a great year listening back

Didn't like 2007 much, as funky house had died out and electro ruled, there were far less dance songs l like than the years 2000 to 2006 the only ones I like are the last ones of the funky house era at the start of the year like Rain Down Love and Stupidisco (Dare Me) and some other tunes later on like I Want Your Soul, Counting Down The Days, Keep On Jumping and the last true trance song to make top 40, Anthem (these last three only went low top 40 though), Rise Up and of course Heartbroken at the end of the year.

Cascada's What Hurts The Most is good too, my favourite track from them.

Destination Calabria and I Found U are quite good, although not as good imo as a lot of early and mid 2006 house songs imo.

It would be amazing if Clean Bandit made a song like How Did You Know, they would have the capability with the orchestral input but it would sadly probably be too lively a sound for todays market.

I would argue Proper Education should go in house rather than funky and Say Say Say (Waiting For You) in funky rather than house but it doesn't really matter.

Also September - Cry for You I think would arguably go in Eurodance rather than house.

Great idea for the genre playlists though!

Another one, 'Crying at The Discotheque' should be in funky rather than Eurodance imo. Bingo Bango and Romeo by Basement Jaxx and The Time Is Now - Moloko should definitely go in funky rather than bass imo.

Interesting to see Sonique It Feels So Good in 'bass' I thought it was trance up to now because of the synths and buildups, but it is actually breakbeat.

That Northern Heightz song "Look At Us" on dan's 00s Eurodance playlist I just discovered. Apparently reached number 29 in early 2004. I thought it was an urban song when looking through the chart archive up to now because the Northern Heightz logo and name looks like it would be an urban artist, and it is a bit like the N-Dubz name and logo a bit (especially with the use of the z in place of an s)! The verses are familiar quite a bit though in the song, so I may remember it from the time.

I looked up the official chart archive for 2000 and 2001 a month or so ago for a few days when I had free time and found these tracks made the UK top 40 that are not included on the 00s Dance Jamz playlist and the associated genre ones! I think 2002 - 2009 has been covered well enough on the playlist already so i didn't look up those years on the archive. Include what you wish dan! I have listened to bits of them and classified them by what genre I think they are for your 00s genre sections.

They were all on spotify at the time of looking a month or so ago, so I assume the vast majority of these are still there.

Haven't even finished looking at the year 2000 top 40 UK chart archive. I am up to early October for Sorry - Monsta Boy ft Denzie! Incredible number of dance songs making the top 40 in the year 2000, even considering the fast moving chart in that year, and also considering there were a fair few dance tracks (about 10 or so iirc) not in this list here that made top 40 that year and aren't on spotify!

I regularly keep an eye on the MTV Dance playlist, one as it's my favourite music channel to keep track of current dance tracks but also because they indicate some of the dance tracks getting a UK push so I've been updating a playlist on Spotify for a while.

The above playlist is exactly what I need, cheers - I have tried to make my own for Summer 19 but my knowledge of non-R1 playlist dance can be patchy, and there is so much of it to navigate through. Subscribed!

One for the Party Anthems fans which I’ve spent a while compiling today not everything is on here, where mixes are unavailable or the song was played in several variations (e.g. just the original of Lonely as like 3 mixes of that was played) and it’s only new tracks.
