Its number 28 in the midweeks and will prob fall by the end of the week

Posted by: Kryptonite Kiss 6th January 2009, 01:54 PM

iTunes have added the original versions of the songs! Downloaded my copy

Posted by: Jarkchild 6th January 2009, 02:09 PM

I'm not sure why this was needed when there are already two perfectly good threads...

28 isn't bad for a remix album only aimed at fans.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 6th January 2009, 03:08 PM

its doing alot better than i thought it would,i thought it would be lucky to make the top 75 but its definitly looking to be her highest charting remix album to date

I missed the other Boombox thread so yes I should have posted in that one. Plus the other is about Paula's version anyway, not Kylies

Posted by: Silver Rocket 6th January 2009, 08:37 PM

I'm totally not fussed about this, I even forgot it was coming out this week. laugh.gif

If she can get top 40 with an unpublicised remix album, I will be thrilled.

Posted by: Dannyboy 7th January 2009, 12:08 PM

its now climbed to number 18

Posted by: SuuS 7th January 2009, 03:08 PM

Posted by: Dannyboy 9th January 2009, 12:49 PM

Down to number 25. Hopefully it can stay top 30

Posted by: seejayjee 9th January 2009, 03:25 PM

I'm just very pleased it made top40 tbh. It is a good album, some excellent mixes on there.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 10th January 2009, 03:53 PM

Posted by: scott 10th January 2009, 04:25 PM

Posted by: Red Blooded Man 11th January 2009, 08:44 AM

Considering Kylie did quite a bit of promotion for X, boombox is doing mysteriously well.

Posted by: Silver Rocket 11th January 2009, 06:15 PM

It landed at #28 in the end, not bad!

Posted by: leonafan 11th January 2009, 07:12 PM

considering how remix albums fair in the charts its done really well, woop!

Posted by: So-Called Chaos 11th January 2009, 08:29 PM

that is very good smile.gif

Posted by: seejayjee 11th January 2009, 08:46 PM

Very happy with that, another top40 album! Well done Kylie smile.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 11th January 2009, 09:11 PM

its done very well considering its priced the same as any new album, it has had no promo and the fact its a remix album, i thought at most it would make low top 75

Posted by: seejayjee 12th January 2009, 05:15 PM

Just over 6k sold in the first week, not sure how well it's gonna hold on though.

Posted by: ScottyEm 12th January 2009, 08:26 PM

I didn't buy it... 14-odd remixes cut down to poxy radio edits... and priced like a normal album! Don't EMI know there's a recession going on??!

Posted by: So-Called Chaos 12th January 2009, 08:42 PM

i want this album because i dont own most of the remixes but i have no money drama.gif i need to bat my eyelashes laugh.gif i think it's a great little collection and in The Daily Record friday suppliment, it was album of the week and got 4/5

Posted by: Glyn 15th January 2009, 11:01 AM

It's a great little album with only two crap tracks. The god awful mix of Giving You Up and the completely out of place mix of In Your Eyes. The editing to the LA Riots mix of Boombox has spoiled it slightly too, but oh well.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 15th January 2009, 03:25 PM

i wonder wherre it in the charts for this week?

Posted by: seejayjee 15th January 2009, 08:17 PM

I predict it will be out of the top40.

Posted by: Red Blooded Man 16th January 2009, 01:33 AM

I think it will be low Top 75.

Posted by: Silver Rocket 18th January 2009, 11:41 PM

This has dropped completely out of the top 75 this week! If it's within the top 100, I'll try and find it's position tomorrow.

Posted by: Silver Rocket 19th January 2009, 05:19 PM

It's #80.

Posted by: Red Blooded Man 20th January 2009, 11:32 AM

I am not surprised by this, given that most of the die-hard UK fans have already got it.

Posted by: Jur 24th January 2009, 11:07 AM

#180 France..

Posted by: Dannyboy 30th January 2009, 02:53 AM

Boombox chart run -

28-80-152

Posted by: So-Called Chaos 30th January 2009, 04:04 PM

oh my

i am unable to find it in town, our zavvi is closed, no woolies, hmv dont have it drama.gif

Posted by: Silver Rocket 1st February 2009, 09:11 PM

Our HMV has plenty, I just don't have the cash at the moment, what with being a poor student and all. cry.gif

I will be getting it at some point though.

Posted by: seejayjee 1st February 2009, 09:33 PM

Anybody got up to date sales figures?

Posted by: Silver Rocket 1st February 2009, 10:29 PM

I would hazard a guess at around 11,000 or 12,000 for it so far, I'll wait until something official comes along though

i know the feeling of having no money
i am expected to pay for a pressie\for my brother's 18th b-day, he wants an xbox 360 game drama.gif

back on topic, i finally got hold of a copy cheer.gif
i love the new edit fo boombox and love all the remixes
the only ones i had previously heard were the YDNY, CIMW, wow, IBIY and BB so a good deal
i also like how the remixes are shortened to under 5 mins,

Posted by: Jur 15th February 2009, 07:17 PM

#31 Greece (new)
#43 Czech Republic (new)

Maybe 10 copies sold combined, but @ least it's charting somewhere wink.gif

Posted by: Jur 15th February 2009, 07:18 PM

So far:

28 UK
31 Greece
43 Czech Republic
180 France

Posted by: Norri~Raider 15th February 2009, 08:12 PM

for a remix album this is not all that bad i guess

Posted by: Silver Rocket 16th February 2009, 12:33 AM

I'm really loving Boombox (LA Riots Remix) wub.gif

That's almost worth buying this for alone.

Posted by: Silver Rocket 5th March 2010, 01:46 AM

I finally bought this from Fopp yesterday when I saw it for £3. Can't go wrong with that. tongue.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 5th March 2010, 02:31 AM

Very true, you got it at a bargain price, in my own opinion its nice for the collection if nothing else.

Posted by: ___∆___ 14th June 2019, 11:57 AM

Super old thread but again a Kylie release that not many mention or seem to like. One of my most listened to non-studio albums - and I love the fact they are all accessible remixes and not 12 minute remixes like the others that have been released (Mixes, Impossible Remixes and 12” Masters).

Considering it was a success for what it was I’m surprised they have not done anything similar to this. Streaming it now and it’s the perfect pre-weekend bop album tbh music.gif

Posted by: pippa 14th June 2019, 01:01 PM

Boombox is a collection style of purchase for many and myself included.
It did do well for what it was and i am surprised similar style releases didn't follow.

Posted by: Medellíam 15th June 2019, 03:29 AM

I've got the album but I only really like the Come Into My World and Slow remixes. Some of the others are okay but not ones I'd listen to. Those two just add something more to the songs. Has to be the long version of Slow.though!

Oh and Blue Monday vs. Kylie and Your Disco Needs You are also fan!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 16th June 2019, 01:41 AM

Bought it but never really listen to it.

Posted by: ___∆___ 16th June 2019, 01:11 PM

Would love to know the sales for this - I can’t imagine it got many outside of the first few weeks although randomly this seems to be one that HMV always carry, and on Apple Music is listed under Collections/Greatest Hits which might lead to people discovering it when searching for her hits?
