So it's been two years since Insidious Chapter 2 stormed the box office, reeling in a whopping $150 million worldwide and spawning a semi-terrible 38% on Rotten Tomatoes. Insidious Chapter 3 seems poised to attempt to replicate the same success but with the story of Insidious 1 and 2 finishing, an almost entirely new cast and director have been lined up for the third installment in the spooky series. The only recognizable cast member in the movie is sweet Stefanie Scott from Disney's 'A.N.T Farm' who plays one of the leading roles. My friend absolutely adores the series so I'll no doubt be dragged along to see this but hopefully my intuition about the film is wrong like with the Purge 2 which managed to pleasantly surprise me. Check out the trailer here ohmy.gif :

The film looks quite atmospheric from the trailer! However looks can be deceiving (*COUGH* Ouija *COUGH*)

I still need to watch the 2nd one as I adored the first once which is possibly my favourite ever horror film. I have the 2nd on DVD and need to watch it

It is out June 2015 here in the UK so I hope it somehow stays at the cinema for quite a lot of weeks in about 10 cinemas I can get to so I can see it in July when I turn 15 :hope:

I really liked the 2nd one. I thought it was more consistent than the first one which really fell flat with that ridiculously over long "running in the dream" scene. But the first hour or so of the film is great stuff. Hoping (but not holding my breath) that this manages to take the best of both the original films and combines them!

Oh God, the 2nd one is the scariest film I've seen I reckon, when you go to the Pics it's always much worse than it is though laugh.gif I purposely went toilet half way through it and took my time.

Insidious is so unscary, I can't believe it's been dragged on for another film!

DVD Review: "Insidious 3" is essentially the prequel of the homonymous successful film that was released in 2010! I had seen it in the cinema that year and I firmly believe that is one of the scariest movies I've seen so far! However, I think the sequel was quite disappointing and I remember how I laughed with many things that I saw. For this reason, I deliberately avoided to see the third movie in the cinema, which was released in my country at the end of June. We had Capital Controls. That was really scary. However, watching it on DVD with my brother over four months ago, I admit that I regretted not seeing it on the big screen.
"Insidious 3" creates a dark atmosphere from the beginning of the story, which prepares appropriate the viewers for what they would see after, while the sudden frightening scenes make their appearance very quickly. The new movie may not involve the main protagonists, Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, but the overbearing Lin Shaye continues unabated in the role of the gifted psychic, Elise Rainier. Moreover, without the participation of the latter, I think "Insidious 3" wouldn’t be so good. Leigh Whannell undertook the scenario once again and he made yet his directorial debut! I think he did fine and made a decent start in the “space of terror”."Insidious 3" had excellent sound effects, very scary music, elaborate editing and nice interpretations. Moreover, it had plenty of suspense as the story progressed and I am sure that you will jump out several times of your seat. Despite this, its penultimate scene disappointed me a bit and I would have expected something better for the ending.
I liked "Insidious 3" in general terms, but definitely did not touch the surprising result of the first film. However, there was an improvement from the sequel and the director managed to scare us many times throughout the course of the film. Besides, it only costs $ 10 million and grossed ten times for FilmDistrict Studios. It received relatively good reviews worldwide but it seems that viewers haven’t the same opinion since "Insidious 3" has the lowest average score of the series based on IMDb users (6,1)! However, nowadays, we see a few horror films in the cinema, so "Insidious 3" could be considered as an ideal choice for the fans of this kind!
