The girls have confirmed on twitter that they are currently in the studio recording their third album.
Jade has previously stated they'd love to work with One Republic, Jason Derulo and American producers for this album. Also, they're are tweets stating they're working with 'The Invisible Men', Troy Boi, Anya Jones & Maegan Cottone.
Very excited to see what this album will be like after loving their previous two!
Their gonna need to bring their A game this time round. "Salute" was leaps better than their debut, but it's chart performance is bad.
Their chart performance mirrored 'DNA'/was better! (At least chart run wise - sales are low overall though, so they can't be blamed for the sales being low + they had a charity single in the way this time around.)
But absolutely cannot wait, naturally. Jade posted this the other day on facebook:
"The writing book is back #StudioTime xxjadexx"
Hope they get a big hit song for saving their life. Salute is a good album but it hasn't a big hit single that makes poor album sales than DNA.
What's with all the talk of poor chart performance? 'Salute' (my phone corrected that to '$l*t' - found it far too amusing) did pretty well imo, it didn't suffer the same sophomore slump that's typical of the other winners and it was much better received than their debut. The "save their life" comment is just ridiculous.
I really can't wait for this! I know it's a long shot, but I hope they release two singles before the album a la 'DNA'. If they're of the same standard as 'Wings', 'Move' or 'DNA' then I'll be very chuffed!
Edit: wot is that filter
They've been writing with Jessie J, possibly collaboration coming, not sure how I feel about that atm but will 100% reserve judgement until we hear it (if we do).
I can't say I'm particularly inspired by the likes of Jason Derulo and Jessie J. It looks like they've completely ditched Tulisa now. They never seem to talk about her anymore.
The next album is the album that needs to bring them to new level. They have done well do date but they need to move up a league now.
More Salute's less About The Boy's please
Yeah, the idea of working with Jessie J really isn't something that excites me... they kind of feel like they've moved beyond a sound I'd expect to hear her collaborate with them on.
The Invisible Men are great though, co-/produced 'Work', 'Hot Right Now', 'On The Metro' for Girls Aloud, so that does interest me.
Read an article on digital spy that they are finding the third album challenging. Woops
That article worried me for one reason and that was that they said they would be releasing a new single in November, even if the album wasn't ready. I really think artists should have the whole album finished before picking the singles. The Saturdays tend to do this strategy a lot and it doesn't pay off, you have to pick from the best of the album, not the best of the handful of songs you've recorded as you're worried people might move on if you don't release something. They need to release music that is worthy of waiting for - I don't mean take 3 years off, but an extra 6 months isn't going to kill anyone, especially as it would just give them more time to release more singles and to visit more countries for longer periods of time, they don't need to be 100% out of the publics mind for that long. They've had two very successful lead singles from both albums, they really need to have a 3rd, possibly even bigger hit for album #3, not just release a single cause you've hit your deadline. This all said, I think they have plenty of time to create a killer single by November, I just hope they have at least 80% of the album finished before they release anything related to it.
We know that's not true though they are a syco artist and have the same routine every year I'm am 100% percent sure that they will release a single in November and the album a week later for maximum sales
Even though they will have less time as the are tour us in September i would presume they won't have a holiday and make it throughout the summer
Can we PLEASE stop with the personal insults and sop trying to antagonise one another? This forum is welcome to any kind of discussion, but there is a line that doesn't need to be crossed. Thank you.
---
Also, in regards to sean's post, I'd be worried if they didn't find it "challenging". Nothing comes easy, especially when the album before was as good as 'Salute' was. Plus, I'm sure artists like Ed Sheeran, Adele, Emeli and the like find it challenging when writing their own songs for their albums, hence why they take about 3 years between each album. It's more difficult for Little Mix as they're manufactured and don't have the fanbase that will wait patiently for an album. Many manufactured pop bands release an album year after year in fear of "being forgotten" or nobody caring about them if they took too long out. It's been like this for years.
I also think the problem is that DNA + Salute have both been quite successful in terms of lead singles so they ideally need a top 5 smash.
I'm starting to think they don't have any direction/theme for this album. Obviously DNA was their debut and Salute was all about women/feminism/empowering and they claimed it had a military feel to it. But they've posting a video asking for ideas? Did they do this with the previous two?
Yea they did... They said they're going for a similar sound to salute but more r'n'b and a step up
The girls have posted pics confirming they are working with Jess Glynn but I think she's just producing it and not signing, we'll see...
just an album full of Salutes and These Four Walls please
Their Instagram (LittleMixOfficial)
Just looked at the wings video on their vevo page and they are like less than 500k off 100,000,000 which is vevo certified!!!
Yea looks like it it's only 20k away I think it will reach certification by the end of the day
It's certified!!!! Wooohooooo
So across the three main social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), the girls are telling us that we'll "need" these pages today and we need to share them! Is an announcement coming?
What pages?
Their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Thought I'd leave this here: https://soundcloud.com/little-mix/message-from-jade-x
Working with Marina and the Diamonds, MNEK and Jess Glynne!!
and also Jessie J...
In an net review they said they are probably going to release it next year... I think that's best so to give proper promotion and hopefully album sales pick up with adele
Very intrigued to hear what direction they go with this album. Seems like they'll be going more Dance/R&B/Pop centric. Very excited!
In I meant because adele is going to dominate hopefully it will bring album sales up and little mix can ride on that
Don't worry I know adele is queeeen
Jade tap dancing
That video makes me very excited for their new material.
Yeah, Can't wait for the new album.
Jade really annoys me so much, I genuinely think I'd like them more if she wasn't in the group!
EDIT: The song they were discussing at the start HAS to be Little Me Pt. II, please!!
No Grown sounds sooo good... All six seconds
I always think people are trolling when they say they like the Little Me / Change Your Life tracks.
What even is this Jade shade?! Any more and you will be banished from this forum, forever and everer. Jade's the STAR of the group.
We need more news on the new album
I'm surprised there wasn't a single out for XF. I wonder if single one will be released in time for BGT?
Omygod an Iggy collab dnwgafafatgaa
Produced by the same guy behind Fancy and Do It Like A Dude
Slay a bit? Omg.
Sounds epic from the names involved *.* First single plz.
Igz confirmed she hasn't collabed with them
Jess Glynne has told DigitalSpy that the tracks she's done with Little Mix are "very cool" and although not dancey ('Real Love'/'Rather Be'/'Hold My Hand' sort of dance that Jess Glynne is known for) they're "very fresh".
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/video/v3992536722001/jess-glynne-little-mix-song-is-really-cool.html
Jesy said at The Brits on Wednesday that the sound is very different to what they've done before. Quite intrigued now!
https://vine.co/v/O2OE0DAlHrt
Sounds promisingggggg!
Sounds pretty good to me, I like that they still seem like they're gonna be playing a bit more experimental with their sound that most girlbands.
Jesy's boyfriend, Jake of Rixton had this to say on Twitter:
They're doing a live chat now and they have a "special announcement" apparently. Watch it below!
https://www.periscope.tv/w/V0bwiDE3ODE3NnwxNDQ3MzAxMyOVRS0oGSFCOX8_DGI9vMh_V49p27fIU-VwkIdNNZTq
They've just said that album 3 is a lot more fun, colourful and more pop than 'Salute'.
Not sure if anyone listened to them on Radio 1 this morning, but they mentioned the album is planned for release between September and November (doubt it'll be as early as Sep), with a tour for February next year.
Is the album called As If By Magic?
They've done an interview with Digital Spy and stated the Marina song is not on the album.
It also seems the scrapped album was R&B whilst this is very pop like 'Black Magic'.
REPORTEDLY called 'Get Weird', according to ATRL.
That album title is TERRIBLE but I love the artwork!
Lol what a shit title
Oh. That title is terrible... the artwork though! Not enough *.* in the interwebs!!
The deluxe artwork makes it look as if Jade's just farted and Perrie's caught a whiff of it Bit childish I know but couldn't resist!
Album title's intriguing!
Release date is the 6th November (Pre-order available for the UK at midnight tonight!)
Awful title
I don't mind, wierd is cool!
It's unbelievable how much they've regressed this era.
I think a November release was to be expected. Odd title but I like the covers - Perrie
I don't mind the title tbh
And that artwork is so stunning *.*
Love the covers, but not keen on the title. Possibly because it reminds me of that woeful Aston Merrygold song. Plus, it just doesn't have a great ring to it. Eh, as long as the material is on point a la 'Black Magic', then I'm willing to overlook it.
NEW SONG ALERT !
An acoustic version of the song called 'The End' said to be on the Album
Hard to tell what the studio version will sound like but they are so solid and tight as a group the harmonies sounded lush . They all sounded AMAZING individually as well.
"The End" is freaking gorgeous. I can't wait for the full studio version. This album is already shaping up to be great, I really hope it smashes for them.
Just watching a show on MTV with them on and they said a track on their album is like "DNA's sister". EXCITING.
Any news about release date?
Hair comin next week
I think "Hair" is the track they worked with Jess Glynne on? I might be wrong!
So the girls announced today that you can pre-order their song "Hair" which we will be able to hear next week and will be available to stream on Spotify afterwards! I'm excited.
Is this officially the second single, or is it just an instant grat? If it's up for pre-order then I guess that means it'll be the second single!
Very excited.
I think it's just an instant grat unless they've changed their minds since this tweet yesterday:
Small clip of Hair - you can't tell much from it:
https://amp.twimg.com/v/94cffee0-b4cd-4ad8-b8f1-d25ff7324e0f
Instant grats won't be able to do much chart wise anymore will they?
This is more of Hair, I forgot about this!
Listen to 'Hair' here:
https://jams.to/2015/08/little-mix-hair-full/
It's not a single, definitely just an album track but it's still a fun little track which definitely gives me more 'Salute' vibes than we got from 'Black Magic' which is promising, I like that they're sticking with that sound to some extent even if 'Black Magic' is now my favourite track of theirs.
LOVE Hair it's so feel good fun and catchy !
Gosh they are getting it SO right this era! *.* Not their best song by any means, but still a really funky, cool song!
I genuinely think this is more instant than Black Magic
'Hair' is brilliant and LOVE that they will be sticking with the 'Salute' sound in SOME form or another
Slickly produced and a whole lotta fun. I like!
I don't like it as much as Black Magic on first listen (even though that was more of a grower and now probably their 2nd best for me) but it's very solid, the production is amaze I agree <3
Very good!
Almost top 10 on iTunes already!
Smashing it & rightfully so too!
I'm so shocked at how well this is doing as an instant grat, their popularity continues to surprise me! I hope this isn't second single though, I am becoming hooked on it but I stand by thinking it's not single material.
Yeah. 'Black Magic' couldn't have come at a better time in their career really. I'm astonished that they seem to be having longevity as a group and at this stage (far too early, I know) but I can see them "doing a Girls Aloud" and lasting for a good few years yet. I honestly thought by the end of era #3 we'd be having one more album and that's it. But their consisitency, success wise, is stunning and really gives me hope for the future for them and I'd argue they're bigger than ever right now.
EDIT: And it all helps that they're genuinely bringing the JAMS to go with it all (and not just getting hits because it's them etc..)
I'm not taking to this at all, I find it rather annoying.
If it did become a single it would comfortably be their worst for me.
I found this very underwhelming on first listen last night, it's nice but nothing more than an average track that could've easily been on 'Salute'. I hope the album is more along the lines of the pure pop of 'Black Magic' than 'Hair'.
I live!
Hair is a TUNE! So much more sass than Black Magic which is more bubblegum.
Tracklist
Love the font!
erm A.D.I.D.A.S?? Sounds like it's starting a new trend of product placement in song titles.
I love the font too, but titles like "A.D.I.D.A.S" and "OMG" are definitely interesting!
Thinking and hoping Love Me Like You is going to sound very Sats, excited to hear Grown.
OCC wrote an article on the tracklisting including the following:
New single announced in one hour!
Met Jade last night at Heaven and she said tour will include covers from Destiny's Child, RuPaul and potentially The Spice Girls
Watching their Apple Music Festival and 'Grown' is f***ing IMMENSE! *.*
Here's 'Grown'!
Oh wow, that sounds great! I was thinking to begin with "oh, this is very Salute" but then it progressed into something where you realise they've continued to grow (no pun intended) with their music; retaining their popular sound but mixing things up to stop things getting too samey. Credit to them, it's great to see how they push their sound and are continuing to experiment.
I am looking forward to the Jessie J collab as I do like both acts
Little Mix @LittleMix 40m40 minutes ago
We're so excited that @jasonderulo is guna feature on 'Secret Love Song' from our #GetWeird album🎶Can't wait for you to hear it! The girls x
Great news!
Really hope that duet slays as much as I think it will! *.*
Also, if you order via HMV, they have an exclusive Little Mix slipcase to go with the album!
Cuuuute.
Aaaaaaaaannnnndddddddd. There's a TINY clip of https://instagram.com/W31RDP30P13 out there! (https://twitter.com/LittleMix/status/653587616495968256 (this Friday))
It sounds SO GOOD. Even though it's STRAIGHT OUTTA THE 80's! *.*
+ we have some lyrics from 'A.D.I.D.A.S'
Wow love the sound of Weird People!
So they have announced a 'Love Me Like You: The Collection' to be released on Friday, which includes the album track 'Lightning', to which they've also stated that there will be another "surprise" on Friday!
EXCITING TIMES!
http://dopefile.me/embed/dfplayer/player.php?id=nkjitzjy15y8
I was very much loving it until the beat drop. I hope that part grows on me but it seems completely misplaced for me
http://dopefile.me/embed/dfplayer/player.php?id=n341xw1yp3ia
This is good fun but it isn't really doing much for me either, apart from being a bit of sing along fun for the kiddy bops. I think I would have loved this if I didn't know what they were capable with, with the material last era. No denying how catchy it is though so I suppose it does what they want it to.
Weird People.
I love both of them tbh, everything from this album is so strong.
Play Weird People at my funeral.
Is 'Lightning' the 'DNA' sequel they were talking about? *.* Love it. Even the breakdown, which admittedly caught me off guard to start with, but I really like it. 'Weird People' is infectiously good. It's really, really catchy! Not single material, although if it was released I can actually see it being a pretty big hit for them.
LOVE both of them <3
The choir-ish bit after the second beat drop in Lightning tho
On the first listen, I was a bit disappointed by Weird People but I really can't get enough of it now, so infectious. I'm on the fence about whether it'd make a great single but it's kind of hard to resist as a bit of throwaway fun.
Not too sure on lightning so far, doesn't sound great on my first couple of listens
On the other hand Weird People is pure pop at it's best Listened to it so much today and it is such a fun song
Wow, wow and wow... every track we've heard from the album sounds huge, I have to admit Hair is actually my least favourite, which pains me to say because I love it!
Loving both Weird People and Lightning If everything else is of the standard they've set so far, this is going to be an album of the year contender!
Lighting is the DNA 2 song Jade was banging on about I'm guessing.
Prefer Weird People to Lightning.
Also starting to love Lightning now, such a great song now i'm used to the breakdown This could really be a strong contender for my album of the year at this rate!
Ranking so far:
1) Love Me Like You (100/10)
2) Black Magic (11/10)
3) Weird People (10/10)
4) Lightning (9/10)
5) Hair (7/10)
'Lightning' is fast becoming one of my firm favourites by them already! It's seriously phenomenal.
Hair has become my favourite. Weird People is such a bop also!
Must be the only one who isn't really feeling this era so far. I think it is because 'Salute' had no songs below a 7.5/10.0 but so far, what we've heard so far isn't filling me with much hope.
Black Magic - 9.0/10.0
Love Me Like You - 8.0/10.0
Hair - 7.5/10.0
Weird People - 6.5/10.0
Lightning - 6.0/10.0
I feel like it's all a big step back
For me, Salute was the weakest era.
OMG is sounding good! A bit Fancy, Pretty Girlish, but better I think.
OMG and I Love You both sound so good!
Grown, the latest insant grat, is kinda crap Easily the weakest of the era so far, if not of their whole career... It's quite annoying. There are really good moments near the end but eh, really not feeling it.
Totally disagree! Been listening to Grown since the iTunes Festival performance and couldn't wait for the studio version and I absolutely love it, possibly my favourite of the non-singles so far personally!
Grown is their best other than the two singles for me <3
I love Grown! It's not my favourite of the instant grats, but it's up there!
The hook is really catchy, other parts are annoying and I'm not feeling so much (some of the instrumental).
The album pre-order has zoomed up to #4 on Amazon. X Factor has done them wonders it seems.
Grown is fabulpus! Like the performance last night. These girls are KILLING it.
I don't know if the song credits on Wikipedia are true, but if so then 'Secret Love Song' is co-written by the one and only Tich (Rachel Furner)!!
iTunes AAC HQ has leaked. Clued Up is very annoying.
Love Me or Leave Me is the albums "These Four Walls"
SECRET LOVE SONG *.*
JASON DERULO AUTOTUNE
'Secret Love Song' is seriously beautiful. The 2nd part specifically!
As a whole, this album is so SO good! Pure pop goodness from track 1, right through to track 16. Not one weak link. Oh mannnn. This album is gonna be stuck on repeat for a long time for me <3 So happy they managed to pull it off (not that I ever doubted they would).
No point in doing a first listen rate as I am just being a blind stan right now. So I'll give it a few more listens to sink in before I do a rate. But this is by far the best they've ever sounded, vocally. All 4 of their vocals!
My CD arrived early. <3 Not had a chance to listen yet, probably won't until Spotify on the way to work tomorrow.
Hope this beats Ellie
I can't get over 'Secret Love Song'! It's gorgeous. Probably gonna become the 'Towers' of this album for me <3
EDIT: A lot of people aren't liking 'OMG' atm. I get why, it's probably my least favourite and can be quite annoying. It's essentially the song Charli XCX never wrote.
Listening right now, A.D.I.D.A.S is my favourite aside from the singles so far, such a jam
I have listened ~ Nowhere near the standard of 'Salute' but then i think they set the bar too high for that to ever be beaten so maybe it's unfair to compare.. There are some complete dud moments ('OMG' being one of them and of course the song Jseoph is loving up there ^) but on the whole it's decent. Not much stood out as potential single material except for 'Secret Love Song' which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
SO all-in-all i enjoyed it, but if i was to listen to a LM album i'd pick 'Salute' over this any day. Hopefully a lot of the tracks grow more on me, but we'll see!
I agree that in terms of overall sound, it does perhaps seem a bit of a step back from 'Salute'. But it's definitely pure pop at it's finest for me. And as much as I'd love for another 'Salute' album, this sort of pop is what is selling for them.
Listening to the itunes previews and there isn't much exciting me which is a shame since the singles and Lightning are so good.
I love the album, I just feel like its missing a dance track and has one too many ballads, even though they are all very nice, my favourites from the ones we didnt hear before are A.D.I.D.A.S. and I Won't, I could see OMG as a single, but its too much like Fancy.
...And Love Me or Leave Me is my favourite from the ballads.
Overall it's good album, it has too many ballads though. A.D.I.D.A.S and Weird People stand out for me.
It's a good little pop album, but it's not as amazing as the 2 singles hyped it up to be. I've found that with Little Mix, the pre-album singles are all 10/10 that the albums are a bit of a let down for me. Maybe it'll be a grower and I do like 'Weird People' a lot, but I echo the sentiments that there is one ballad too many on here.
Had my first listen this morning. It's Good. My favourites are Weird People and ADIDAS aside from the singles.
Really am loving this, it's a very strong album in my opinion. I love all of the songs so far, but Secret Love Song, Love Me or Leave Me (Leigh-Annes vocals!!!!!) & A.D.I.D.A.S. are my favorites at the moment.
Clued Up's guitar melody sounds like another song.
^ taylor swift we are never getting back together?
Eyes Like Sky by Frank Ocean.
#2 on UK iTunes!
Would've been number 1 had Coldplay not decided to put their pre-order up today! Amazing!
Jesys voice is just sublime. I know shes v marmite but so much freakin emotion!
An under-performance for Ellie!
I listened to the album and I have favourites from it OMG, Hair, Lightning, Love Me Or Leave and the two singles *.*
Ellie's lead single hasn't done that great.
So, SO pleased they're #1 in the mids
C'mon girls. You can do it!
I think they might get overtaken by Elvis and Beatles unless they have a really strong lead. I just went to HMV to pick up the deluxe edition. Some miserable Gwen sympathiser has put Delierium in front of all Little Mix's albums. I did the work of Jade and undid this.
Just got the album today...I've reviewed it for my blog so I won't say too much more other than LOVING IT! Just a really good, really strong pop album: http://alexscsb.com/2015/11/07/crazystupidalbum-little-mix-get-weird/
^ Good write up, but I'm shocked at all the mixed receptions for Secret Love Story.
I really wish they would have found someone better than Jason Derulo for the track really.
Possibly my favourite album this year, absolutely amazing
10 Black Magic Still one of the best pop tracks this year
11 Love Me Like You Still utterly amazing
10 Weird People Such a fun pop gem!
10 Secret Love Song (Ft Jason Derulo) Beautiful track with fantastic lyrics
08.5 Hair Like this but kind of glad there is less Salute-like tracks on this album
09.5 Grown So catchy!
07 I Love You Don't remember it too well tbh.
10 OMG Pretty much a great Charli XCX reject with the Fancy backing track. Superb
10 Lightning Amazing song and can imagine a video for this being utterly epic!
10 A.D.I.D.A.S Such a fan and joyful song, the last 30 seconds remind me so much of Love Me by Stooshe!
09 Love Me Or Leave Me Beautiful song with fantastic vocals
09 The End Love their acapella!
07 I Won't Good but more album filler than a great song
10 Secret Love Song Pt II Utterly beautiful against, listening to this again now (and crying again!)
06 Clued Up Definitely the weakest on the album. It feels like an acoustic version of what the track should be. I think it should be a lot more poppy/simillar to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together as sounds quite simillar to that but it needs to be more poppy to be good in my view.
09 The Beginning Love their acapella again!
I just listened for a second time and it sounded a fair bit better than my first listen! A few of the songs I squirmed at initially sounded tolerable/good this time round I really like the two singles (obviously), 'Secret Love Song' both parts and 'Lightning' in particular. A fairly consistent album though and REALLY hope it manages to stay ahead of Ellie this week.
So did the Jessie J collab never materialise?
JESUS f***ING CHRIST PART II OF SECRET LOVE SONG OMGGGGGG HELP MY HEART
Down to #6 on iTunes.
Secret Love Song Pt 2 is utterly stunning.
The album is such a disappointing listen for me, maybe even more so after the great album that was 'Salute' It's such a shame, whereas sometimes, on their previous albums, I felt like the lyrics, production or vocals were at fault and some of the potentially good songs were let down by these, well on this one we pretty much have a bunch of well written, produced and sung shitty songs. I don't know what's worse between that and the other option.
THAT BEING SAID. 'Secret Love Song' is absolutely gorgeous and surely that MUST be the next single? They sound so good on it. I do think Jason Derulo is a bit of stretch in terms of collaboration, at least when it comes to the girls, that being said, he works just fine on the song and I'm sure they can make something out of his name if/when they release it.
I'll probably just keep 'Black Magic', 'Love Me Like You', 'Get Weird', 'Lightning' and 'Secret Love Song'.

Strong album, better than DNA but nothing on Salute. Although the singles have been completely on point this era so far.
My favourites are Secret Love Song, OMG and Lightning on first listen. Some of the slower ones are a bit repetitive/annoying but I think this album will be a grower.
'I Love You' is really creeping up my affections! Such a beautiful little number <3
Mint Royale @MintRoyale 1 hour ago
Oh dear, Little Mix have lost pace in the album race, Elvis is going to beat them.
Ellie up to 3.
Shame they had such little promo this week - could end up at #4 by Friday but hopefully they have good sales.
Yeah. I reckon #4 will be about right. They should've had that promo in between XF and done SCLSP2!
I knew top 2 was too good to be true
Just seen the sales so far:
01. Little Mix - Get Weird 34,716
02. Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream 34,150
03. Ellie Goulding - Delirium 25,522
Top 3 on lock I think. I'd say they're safe for top 2 too, but we've seen gaps close quickly before so Ellie could potentially still get there. But we'll see. I'm confident in a number 2 album at least though!
Thanks to Joe. For making me aware of this!
(Also, 'Love Me Like You' is looking safe for a top 15 position!)
It's a great shame that the girls will miss the top spot. But I have to say their sales are a lot higher than I expected! I was thinking 35k for an end of week sales, not on a Monday midweek!
I am bitterly disappointed they will not get number 1, but, with some luck their sales will pick up and they reclaim the top position.
Maybe their budget is limited?
I mean isn't Ellie pretty much a worldclass act by now? Little Mix managed to have a few success here and there overseas, but surely it isn't comparable. I'm guessing Ellie just has more money thrown at her and quite frankly, it's understandable.
She's over 9k behind Little Mix in the UK midweeks. Remains to be seen what happens overseas. Perhaps Little Mix's apparent limited budget will pay off better than the money being thrown into Ellie.
I do feel like Ellie's is the more likely album to sell better over time, but who knows... it really depends on whether her next singles do well. Before this week I would have said Ellie was a dead cert to chart higher than Little Mix in the albums chart.
I would have said the same. It's really a feat that Little Mix managed to already sell that much. It shows they have a decent fanbase and they can connect with the British public to a certain extent!
Album is of course down to #2 now, but it's looking pretty safe in that position.
Elvis 60k
Little Mix 45k
Ellie 32k
Beatles 19k
Crazy huge sales for LM, they sold 5097 yesterday, so if they keep that up, which they should because there's still streaming data missing, it'll be their fastest opening!
So incredibly proud of them. It's amazing what a massive number 1 hit does for an era! Also, although its not gone top 10, 'Love Me Like You' was the perfect choice gor selling the album.
So glad this selling well <3 Excellent album! After a few listens I'd rate it:
11 Black Magic
10 Love Me Like You
09 Weird People
09.5 Secret Love Song (ft. Jason DeRulo)
09 Hair
03 Grown
08 I Love You
09 OMG (it's what Pretty Girls should have been, a bit more funky and with "better" attitude!)
08.5 Lightning (I kinda get how it's DNA part 2 but it cant' hold a candle to DNA <3 I love the gothicy choir bit though!)
08.5 A.D.I.D.A.S.
09 Love Me Or Leave Me
07 I Won't (the keyboard in the riff sounds really cheap )
10 Secret Love Song Pt II (honestly I think this could steal the 11 from Black Magic which says a LOT given BM is probably my current song of the year )
07 Clued Up
06.5 The Beginning
Ridiculously consistent album! So strong on the standard edition. The non SLS bonus tracks are kinda weak compared to most of the standards and Grown is irriating af but apart from that, yaaaaaaaaaaaaasss.
'Grown' is actually one of my favourites on the album. I'm holding out hope that a remixed version with a little more oomph will be released as single 4, a la 'How Ya Doin?'.
Fantastic sales. I can't believe they're beating out Ellie by such a large margin, and it's kind of hard to be frustrated about Elvis pipping them to #1 when his sales are that impressive. #2 with their (likely) highest sales debut yet is a brilliant achievement regardless.
Number 2 is a done deal now which is their highest peak to date in the album chart. I in honesty thought Ellie Goulding would outsell Little Mix and they would be number 2 or 3 but i did not foresee Elvis beating them. Elvis entering at number 1 last week bored me, and this week its much worse.
Secret Love Song is incredible. Unpopular opinion but I would love to hear Tich's demo...
Jason's vocals ruin it though, he sounds like a robot
Listening to this now. Initial thoughts are that they've got the singles spot on, but the album isn't living up to 'Salute' which is genuinely one of the best girlband albums of recent times. Then again, it's still a strong album so far and I totally understand if they've had to go a bit poppier to appeal to the little girls. 'Salute' was always going to be hard to match, and near impossible to beat.
Get Weird is #8 in New Zealand
First album with Get Weird in Ireland
'Get Weird' is now Silver in the UK
Can't believe they actually managed to get 60k+!
Best opening sales for them! Now, lets hope they can sustain sales this week!
Wow that's amazing, well deserved though as it is such a fantastic album
They apparently stopped certificating albums according to shipment, but I'm surprised they've managed 10k+ since yesterday's midweek figure. Maybe some sales were missing from somewhere...The tour bundles?
Bit gutting they missed the No.1, but 60,503 sales is very impressive and puts them in a good position for the future!
Wow, was expecting it to only JUST beat the DNA sales, wasn't expecting 60k sales at all?! That's absolutely fantastic for them and as someone said, Elvis's album was so far ahead, it's hard to really begrudge or be mad at it. So happy at how this has all gone.
For perspective on just how big those opening sales are the current climate, here's all the number 1 albums of this year's opening sales, from highest to lowest

Incredible opening sales, very pleasing!
2 in australia
I bought the slipcase edition from HMV yesterday... Gonna give the copy I bought last week to my little niece as she's a fan Pleased to see this album do so well!
Also their first top 10 album in Holland as it debuts at #9.
Fantastic sales, I really was not expecting that! Definitely was a good move placing this up for pre-order after Black Magic!
So far
01 Ireland
02 Uk
02 Australia

In most countries their best charting album. Should also have a nice top 5 debut on the global chart.
Wow, I mean, I know that releasing it in November means higher sales but I'd still never have imagined it would've sold more than Jess Glynne's! So good for them.
Tbf, although I understand them waiting until they could get the X-Factor promo, if they had released it 2 weeks earlier, I think they would have gotten that number one, as even without the XF i doubt 5SOS would have had more sales than them, and then they could have used XF to keep it top 3 or 5 in the next couple of weeks. But tbh it's a small complaint, because i'm so unbelievably proud of those figures
#5 in the midweeks, with pretty much nothing coming for them, so they should remain top 5! Looking at roughly 25 - 30k this week
Jess Glynne is the only person who could possibly push them down to #6, but they still sold more than her yesterday.
Very nice.
Yaaaaas so pleased this looks to be a constant hit for them
Any update on the albums midweek position and sales?
Not sure if it has been posted here but they are performing at the BBC Music Awards next month
It would be wonderful if the album can remain Top 10 through the high sales period of Christmas. If so, they may achieve their biggest selling album in addition to their highest charting album. For mos,t if not all girl/boybands, sales start to decline on album 3, it is wonderful to see this not happen with them. I feel Little Mix have yet to have that big moment,i hope they do eventually get it even if it is in the era to follow Get Weird. They have and continue to do well but they need that huge moment.
A.D.I.D.A.S for single four please, it's absolutely incredible and is a perfect single release for BGT.
Please not A.D.I.D.A.S. , OMG is far better and more catchy. But who knows if they'll have 4 singles at all.
I'd personally like to see Lightening as single 4, the video would be everything, plus it's one of my favourite non ballads yet to be a single. Though I agree, I think they'll go with OMG, as it's very radio friendly, so I could see it doing well
'OMG' is the worst on the album though. Not that it's particularly "bad". It's just annoying and not in the "annoyingly catchy" sense. If Charli can't get hits with that sound... 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' could do quite similarly to 'How Ya Doin?' I think. Probably due to the topic of the song, it could be considered a controversial choice for them and I think it'd be a success and that it'd pay off for them.
Album still #5, with a 7k lead over #6. Almost 5k sold yesterday, so they're looking at #33k, which will be the highest sales for #5 of the year.
Legends
God I just love this band <3
I'd go for Hair as single 4 personally, don't think OMG or A.D.I.D.A.S would work.
Personally I'd go for weird people for single 4!
'Hair' would be good actually and so would 'Weird People' actually.
This era is going wonderfully well for them. Whatever the choice of single, i hope the release is handled well and they promote. It could easily result in their biggest selling album by far.

14k sold so far this week, at #8. Could climb to #7 or even #8 by end of week.
Holding on strongly in week 3, things are looking good for this album.
Hopefully it stays in the top 10 during the Christmas period.
Do they have much in terms of performances coming up?
Confirmed for Top Of The Pops Not sure if Christmas or New Year one though
Christmas version of 'Love Me Like You' please *.*
Also, New Year for 'Black Magic' please (That's the one where they celebrate the year, isn't it?)
They've had enough success to be one of the artists that get both, so fingers crossed. LMLY for xmas and Black Magic for NY!
If they're just doing 1 of the 2 it'll probably be Black Magic though, which will be great for gift cards.
I'm still hoping miraculously they go with Weird People as the 3rd single and promote that in the new year, it's the perfect dance jam. Instead of Perrie Edwards feat. Jason Derulo - Secret Love Song lol.
I somehow feel they are not putting single just yet. I hope next one is actually OMG and they try in America with it. It's just a JAM. I don't quite like idea of Weird People as single tbh.
I know it's unlikely, but if they're going for a ballad, for a late dec/early new year release, I really think they should consider LMOLM. It's easily the best ballad on the album, and the really strong, emotional, feels creating feeling of the song would tie in perfectly with the depressing side of the cold winter months. Plus they would slay the house down with the vocals on an x factor finale performance. It could persuade the more wishy washy followers to pick up a copy of GW, as well as others; more than SLS could imo
As much as I like OMG, it really is jumping on a trend too late with its DJ Mustard tribute beat/Iggy Azalea sound. The girls also sound so annonymous on it, if OMG was played randomly on radio I for one would struggle to recognize it as a Little Mix song!
I can see radio hammering Weird People the same way they hammered Black Magic, Weird People is like the Prince to Black Magic's Cyndi Lauper which is the sound this era is about, the chorus chants the album's title - what better way to sell the album? The music video would obviously also be quite something, the song is made to be performed on BGT and high profile dance reality shows
I must say I have been quite dismissive of the album at first but some songs are really clicking with me now, Love Me Or Leave Me, and I Love You in particular I found very forgettable at first but now love. The "I Love You" background vocals at the end are fantastic.
Hair is still very annoying for me though, and Lightning which as a 3 minute song would be great - I still find very messy especially the trap breakdown which when I listen to in earphones is actually painful
Yay. Someone else who appreciates 'I Love You'.
The album dropped 13-90 on the US Billboard 200
They've been gaining on 1D daily (not that it's competition - but it's interesting to track) and actually outsold them yesterday for the first time, and it looks like they'll keep increasing on them. They won't overtake them this week, but it looks like they will net week. They'll also overtake Enya next week too and the only top 5 contender I can think of is The Vamps (unless the Corrs and Overtones have a bigger fanbases than I'm expecting), so a return to the top 5 is looking possible.
They're also looking to hit almost 35k this week which is an increase on last Friday's total. Love me Like You was an excellent choice for the lead in.
The album is £6.99 on amazon's black Friday deals until 1st Dec. So if you want a copy... *.* (standard version)
'I Love You'
Who is it that sings the falsetto throughout the final verse of this? What a beauty. Is it Jesy?
Yeah. That's Jesy. (If it's the part I'm thinking of!).
How underrated is Jesy though? From that elusive chanteuse vocal range in I Love You to her sex kitten candy floss vocals in A.D.I.D.A.S. I also can't get enough goosebumps from Leigh-Anne's MOMENT in Love Me Or Leave Me!
Sales will increase for the album week-on-week now, as we get into December. They're looking very good for going platinum by Christmas. They'll probably go Platinum with Salute along the way, too.
35.2k sales this week, which increases last week's total. Unless the Corrs are top 5 contenders, Get Weird should return to the top 5 next Friday!
See sales thread for full sales.
Just saw the Music Week report...
5 One Direction 36,543
6 Little Mix 35,227
They came so close in the end! Shocked! They should surpass 1D with ease this week then!
Get Weird is back to a top 5 position at number 4 in the midweek chart information
I have a good feeling, Get Weird, will be platinum by the the finish of Christmas.
Sold 32k this week! On course for 45k at #4.
Fantastic sales.
The sales are going to be even bigger next week!
Those sales were for yesterday actually, so they could push for 50k
Brilliant!
If they stay top 5 next week I can see them beating their opening weeks sales.
Their promo has been SPECTACULAR this era!
Absolutely fantastic news <3
I'm just happy it's all paying off for them! More often than not lately, artists have had great promo and not really performed to expectations!
I can see them doing 'Black Magic' on Alan Carr though. They've already done LMLY on there, unless they decide to do a Christmas cover again?
Almost 50,000 sales added for the last 7 days. Wonderful result.
2-5-6-4
#2 Week 1 - 60,053
#5 Week 2 - 32,989
#6 Week 3 - 35,227
#4 Week 4 - 49,430
Total: 178,316
They should be roughly just about top 20 in the highest selling albums of the year now! The album sales should increase week-on-week now, but even if they sold the same as this week (50k) every week until Christmas, they'd still make Platinum with 330k!
Amazing! So proud of them! I think the fact that LMLY appears to be such a grower for a lot of people i've spoken to, has made it the perfect single to promote a long, and successful campaign
But to be platinum by christmas is absolutely phenomenal
They should manage 50,000 at worst this week but hopefully even more. 250,000 wont be far off when this week is counted in.
Little Mix confirmed to perform at Text Santa on (I think) the 17th of December this year: http://www.atvtoday.co.uk/74933-textsanta/
So I'm assuming this week is the final push for Love Me Like You, with Live Lounge today, and Royal Variety Performance tomorrow and possibly BBC Music awards on Thursday. And then they're moving onto Secret Love Song next week, with Alan Carr and Text Santa for promo over the coming weeks. (Hopefully X Factor too!)
Live Lounge canceled!
Any info on how the album is doing so far this week?
I know we haven't had a midweek update yet but just in case someone does know / has any info.
#6
Didn't know where to put this but the Top Of The Pops holidays line-ups have been named with no sight of Little Mix. There's a lot less well known names like Grace so I'm guessing they just weren't available.
Why aren't they releasing a second Usa single?
Oh gosh! Mess! First Live Lounge and now TOTP. Perrie and Jade are clearly worn out I'd imagine There goes all our aspirations for a LMLY rebound lol.
In their defence they have been working incredibly hard so probably needed a break!
I can see the RVP performance helping the album a lot more than the single. It's perfect for the (i assume) older audience.
i think they cancelled live lounge this week to perform secret love song later
they are already recording the music video
Don't think it's confirmed and I don't know where to put this but it's rumoured they're doing a duet medley with 1D at the weekend on X Factor, like that of 1D/JLS!
Performing at the X Factor final can do nothing but boost sales of the album which is wonderful. I am hoping for excellent sales for Get Weird over the next 3 weeks.
Get Weird's sales are down quite a bit compared to last week, but they should still clear 40k this week.
Been confirmed Little Mix and Fleur East are performing together! I can imagine this being amazing on a similar level to their Salute BGT performance with Diversity.
Interested to see them and Fleur performing together!
Yes
I'm torn because this performance will be everything. But pushing Black Magic and Sax again won't do much for either of them. I assume that's what it'll be.
Would have preferred it to be SLS that they would perform but great either way as it will help the album out
Sometimes I don't even care about all the sales / helping shit, this performance is gonna be incredible which is most important to me
I guess this duet explains why X Factor have randomly taken down Little Mix and Fleur's X Factor performances from Youtube for what seems like no reason to me...
YES! I was wondering why they'd done that Really gutted coz I watched it like 8 times in a row the other day, but I had to google for a link. Extremely excited for this performance!
does anyone know their promo schedule for the next weeks?
thank you joe x
Album down to £7.99 on Amazon. Should help get a few more sales.
Anyone knows how much did Get Weird sell in Ireland and Australia?
#2 Week 1 - 60,053
#5 Week 2 - 32,989
#6 Week 3 - 35,227
#4 Week 4 - 49,430
#6 Week 5 - 47,122
Total: 225,438
I can see it doing about 60k this coming week.
AHHHH. Platinum the week after, no matter what then
So we could have 2 weeks of over 60k / 70k of sales for the album what with the promo they have.
Little Mix and Fleur were awesome together. What a performance
Amazing
Oh. Wow. That performance was fantastic! Everything about it and the way the two songs worked together... just brilliant.
EPIC PERFORMANCE!
Easily the best guest(s) performance of the series.
Didn't like how the girls sang some of Fleur's parts and vice versa but yes, fabulous mash up!
Guys what do you think will Girls get any BRIT nominations this time?
Black Magic was a huge hit, I would hope it might get them a brit nomination
I can see 'Black Magic' getting a "Best British Single" nod. But apart from that, I can't see much else unfortunately. As much as I'd love to see them get something either for "Best British Album" or "Best British Group", I can't imagine it. I also believe they have a genuine shot at winning the BRIT for British Single, too! (Well, depending on if 'Hello' will be nommed - not sure when the cut off point for the BRITs is)
tbh I was floored when they weren't nominated for best british group after Salute, the album was flawless, and i think i remember a lot of critics raving about it; so i wouldn't be shocked if they were robbed again. And i'd love it if Get Weird got a nom, but i really doubt it as well.
I think they stand a chance (and should win) for best brit single, but I can see it going to years and years - King, or something like that
Is the British Single award voted for by fans?
If it is, then Drag Me Down will probably win...
I don't think it's public voted is it? I think music video is a fan vote but I don't think best british single is - if it is usually then god knows how Waiting All Night managed to win in 2014
I wanted them to get British Group so bad
It took Girls Aloud so much longer to get a nomination, the girls will obviously release another few albums so they'll definitely get at least a nomination one day!
This will probably be the exact same as the year The Sats would have been nominated for Best Single had they kept the number from long list of the previous year. The Brits don't seem to see girl bands and their potential
I don't see how they can't be nominated, as of last week, these are the British entries in the top 50 of the year (taking out 2nd biggest singles from artists / Uptown Funk / Thinking Out Loud):
3 - 3 - 1,215,000 - 1,503,000 - Hozier - Take Me To Church - 09/08/14 - 2
4 - 4 - 1,162,000 - 1,162,000 - Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do - 14/02/15 - 1
7 - 7 - 975,500 - 1,035,500 - James Bay - Hold Back The River - 06/12/14 - 2
8 - 8 - 897,500 - 897,500 - Years & Years - King - 14/03/15 - 1
9 - 12 - 893,000 - 893,000 - Adele - Hello - 05/11/15 - 1
12 - 11 - 844,500 - 844,500 - Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand - 04/04/15 - 1
20 - 20 - 720,500 - 720,500 - Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love - 30/07/15 - 2
24 - 24 - 654,000 - 654,000 - Philip George - Wish You Were Mine - 10/01/15 - 2
25 - 25 - 631,000 - 631,000 - Little Mix - Black Magic - 23/07/15 - 1 - 1
28 - 27 - 600,000 - 729,000 - Ed Sheeran - Photograph - 05/07/14 - 15
33 - 32 - 560,500 - 690,500 - Olly Murs Ft Demi Lovato - Up - 06/12/14 - 4
34 - 33 - 551,000 - 551,000 - Tinie Tempah ft Jess Glynne - Not Letting Go - 04/07/15 - 1
Little Mix sit in 9th and there's usually 10.
Ooo that is great news!
I think they will get a nom for best british video bc black magic is already vevo certified and this category is fan vote
andI really hope they will also be nominated for best british group but I think years and years will won this one
fingers crossed for british single then
British video is a good shout for a nom too actually! And it'd deserve to win coz the 'Black Magic' video is just as flawless as them and the song. <3
did the girls recorded for totp? or graham norton?
I believe they only have Alan Carr now. They were scheduled for TOTP, but they pulled out because two of the girls lost their voices the night before. It was scheduled to be recorded the same day as they were supposed to be doing the R1 live lounge Christmas special
ohhh this would be such a good promo for them...
they will have 3 weeks of vacations now I hope the album will keep selling good
Don't they have Text Santa on Friday too?
Ohhh yeah. Completely forgot about that. I knew they had more, but wasn't 100% sure if they did or not. Lol.
they are filming the new music video
Leigh-Anne looking flawless
Biggest sales week so far for them - amazing!
#2 Week 1 - 60,053
#5 Week 2 - 32,989
#6 Week 3 - 35,227
#4 Week 4 - 49,430
#6 Week 5 - 47,122
#6 Week 6 - 61,067
Total: 285,888
Nice. Platinum coming next week.
Hoping for it to manage 70k this week. But I'll be happy with anything around 60k! C'mon girlssss 😍
Great to see its sales hold up so strongly - Platinum in less than two months!
I would expect another sales increase again this week. I think 80k+ is possible.
80,000 for this coming week would be wonderful and set them well on the way to possibly selling half a million UK copies of this album.
I would actually like Love Me Or Leave Me as a single after Lightning.
Do we think if they can maintain top 6 next week?
Finally had the time today to sit and listen to the whole standard edition! Still love Black Magic, Love Me Like You () and Secret Love Song.
- Hair was really fun and LOVE the lyrics!
- Grown was good but I feel this does sound a bit too Jessica Glynne like for my liking
- I Love You and OMG were both decent album tracks
- Lightning was a bit boring
- A.D.I.D.A.S. definitely very tongue in cheek but very funny "you're gonna get it tonight!"
- Love Me Or Leave Me definitely is a stand out for me but I am a sucker for a girl band ballad
- The End I was expecting to be a little bit slower after the live snippets from the album listening party but still a lovely listen
Any news on how the album is doing this week?
Ahhhh! I'm so proud of the girls. 'Secret Love Song' climbing on iTunes right now (into the top 40) puts it in a good position for when the Christmas tracks/charity songs fall and hopefully keep the album selling well into the new year! I think it's quite a feat that they're managing to keep up with 1D this time.

Any idea if they're still on Alan Carr today or is it something else they didn't turn up for?
There is a pic. Do they will perform for sure.
Got the album today and listening on my new headphones, sounding so good today Weird People + A.D.I.D.A.S especially are sounding perfect tonight
Another week at 6
It's been a few positions higher than 1D for a while now. I think they were both still gold last week, and obvs now GW has gone plat, not sure about MITAM (I would think so) has GW officially sold more at this point?
do you all think they sold more than 60k this week?
Yeah. Elvis did 170k+ at number 2. I'm thinking maybe about 80k?
It'll be be their highest selling album by next week!
The standard is only £5.99 at HMV today! *.* (I think the deluxe is cheaper than £12.99 too!)
I bought it in Asda for £6 today. Always handy to have a copy for the car.
70,525 sold this week. Their highest weekly sales ever I think?
Hopefully they can keep selling 30k+ for the next month or so. Double platinum is looking likely which is crazy to think.
I'm thinking a climb up to about #4 for this, this week! I don't know why. I'm just hopeful that gift cards/iTunes gift vouchers will benefit this album quite a bit more than other albums and I can see it being a big January seller too!
I think number 4 could be possible too.
They climbed a lot on iTunes and physicals are still selling well too.
It's a shame they're #11 for the end of year. Still obviously amazing since it's only going to have been 2 months though. And yes, I'd love for them to climb back into the top 5 this week, they're doing better digitally than they have been in ages, it could be the key to them outselling Jess Glynne this week.
Up to number 4 on Amazon - they have been 5 for about a month.
What with this and them rising on iTunes, I hope they can rise on the official charts.
Slightly pressed that this lost the number one spot to an Elvis album but nevertheless it's held up incredibly well in the Top 6 considering it's digital sales were kinda poor. Just proving that physical sales for albums at least aren't over. Has this already became their best-selling album in the UK?
There's enough interest in them that when Adele's sales die down in Q1/Q2 they could climb to #1 in a quiet week if it's a big promo week for whatever single is being pushed at the time. The Elvis thing is annoying but at least it isn't a non-number 1. I'd be more annoyed if it was something like 5SOS or 1D that held them off as they've sold more than them in the long run.
482k ww!!! in less than 2 months!! what a great year for them
I order one copy from Amazon and they climb one spot heheh
Number 6 again
just SIX sales from top 5!
Considering 1D have a new single out helping them promote the album rn, that's insane
Guys anyone has info on Australian and Irish sales?
How this album is doing is incredible but amazing, and definitely deserved <3
£2.99 on Google Play and it's also the first album shown on the sale section (main home page)
They've overtaken 1 Direction again this week, but James Bay has come out of nowhere and they're STILL at #6. Ha.
Annoying number 6.
May still get ahead of him during the week though.
loool totally up for GW to become a permanent fixture at number 6, until SLS comes out
They could outsell James I hope.
I've given the album a listen, it's mostly good... stellar production throughout but I couldn't get to the end of 'OMG' and 'I Love You'.
I'd say 'Weird People' for single 4! (seems funny saying that, we're not even at single 3 yet).
Maybe I'll try again with it...
Lightning is so overrated, one of my least favourite actually. Drags a bit and is trying too hard to emulate the choral bit of DNA.
Weird People is the only song I skip hopefully it's not single.
I always skip The Beginning, Clued Up and The End. And I have to be in the mood for Love Me or Leave Me and I Love You.
Grown for me. I like it, but when it comes on, I'm wishing it to be over so I Love You can start
You're all crazy! 'I Love You' is gorgeous and 'Lightning' is phenom... don't even get me started on the disdain towards 'Love Me Or Leave Me'...
The beginning of Weird People is so off putting for me Grown though
Grown is still a bit irritating, not as bad as I first thought but still probably my least favourite. Love Me Or Leave Me slays, Leigh-Anne's vocals
The girls are #6 again
David Bowie will enter the top 5 and James Bay will leave it next week = another week at 6.
They appear to have taken ownership and residency at number 6
Still brilliant - they haven't left the top 6 since release.
This week should result in seeing the sales of Get Weird pass 400,000 if i am correct.
As long as they stay top ten until SLS is out I don't think they'll be entirely fussed!
with the early impact that secret love song has had, I think they can push Jess Glynne for a top 5 spot next week
James Bay performed on Graham Norton so he may stay ahead
SLS could push this to reach double plat by BRITs week. BRITs week will be tough competition but i'm confident if they win big (i.e British Single & British Group) the album could rocket back into top 3, but Adele's got that week on lock.
Love Me Or Leave Me has completely hit me yesterday, incredible and beautiful track and the girls vocals are so good on it
True.
But it lacks the harmonies Good Enough has.
If it had that it wouldve been flawless.
Any update on this from the mids?
With 2 Bowie albums above it, is it looking like it will fall out of the top 10 this week?
Are they out of the top 10 for the first time this week?
Wishfully thinking that they are not!
Yeah. Down to #15 atm. I can see them climbing once SLS is added to more playlists.
Just seen this on the OCC site: http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/little-mix-achieve-a-personal-best-with-their-latest-album-get-weird__13580/
jadefan do u like The Saturdays :eyes:
Get your own fans, skank.
i'm actually a little mix stan right now, minus noticing they can't pronounce 'CAN'T' in Secret Love Song. x
To think The Saturdays were giving advice to Little Mix on X Factor
well duh
Welcome to the forum Jadefan
So good to see this already being their biggest album, absolutely incredible pop anthem
Listening to this again now for the umpteenth time and I'm really starting to think this may be edging very close to my top 2 of the last 3 years (1989 + Ultraviolence are infront)! Every single song is an incredible and this album just have so many amazing ballads and uptempos
The girls have absolutely killed it this era!
Sony Music IrelandVerified account
@SonyMusicIre
@acciolittlemx1 no, album platimum though
So album is Platinum in Ireland.
So how many sales would that be? Great news though *.*
15,000 copies for platinum in Ireland.
It's climbing on iTunes again now - number 26
I know they have a much smaller population than us, but 15k for Platinum shocks me!
Album rising nicely on iTunes again - 23 from 32 yesterday
I'm not surprised with the early impact of SLS! hopefully will keep it comfortable top 20 this week, and maybe top 10 again next
Jade liked a picture on instagram that said "If Lightning was a single (and a bunch of platinum certifications on pic)"
The fact Nothing Feels Like You wasn't a single was the biggest travesty of their career
These Four Walls says hello ...only missed single opportunity imo
Competition is better than both
Mr Loverboy ftw
Salute was full of potench singles, i have to agree. I was certain Mr Loverboy would be a single when i first heard, for same reasons as you. I also really think Stand Down could have been a nice one to follow salute, or even Towers/These 4 Walls to slay a ballad.
Just noticed the album charted higher than Elvis this week, which is the first time since GW was released I think, so yey! Small victories and such
This now their best album for me I still love Salute and DNA though!
It's on par with Salute for me. DNA is awesome as well, but Get Weird is like a more progressed and better sounding DNA, and Salute is just a perfect album on it's own, for days when i want to hear a more dark side of LM
Yeah, I still JUST prefer Salute - the upbeats still sound SO good to me and it feels a bit more cohesive than Get Weird but they're both fantastic pop albums.
When it comes to general cohesiveness, lack of duds and the overall package...
Salute > Get Weird > DNA
Though I feel like there are higher highs on Get Weird than Salute.
Worldwide sales: 604,000 (no streams)
The album is looking very safe for the top 10 at the moment. It is outselling every single album behind it and is also outselling Charlie who's ahead of them, so they should be at least 8 this week, we'll see what effect The Brits has. And then I'd say they could go top 5 the week after with the residual Brits effect/ Ant and Dec.
Top 5 would be great!
500k is looking certain for this album, but I really think they might possibly push it to doubly platinum, even without a re-release.
Chart run so far:
2-5-6-4-6-6-6-6-6-8-14-15-18-15-8....
Including this week, I think they'll be enjoying at least 4 more weeks top 10.
Going by the momentum achieved i would be bitterly disappointed if Get Weird does not easily manage double platinum without a re-release. I solid re-release with a strong new single should push it towards triple platinum if handled and marketed correctly.
Number 8 again this week. No sales yet but hopefully more than last week.
