Now I am looking forward to this and maybe I'm missing something but everytime I see the trailer I think about how it appears to show the entire plot of the story and I don't know how they're stringing it out over 100 minutes?

Very enjoyable and very easy to watch. I don't think it's going to be up there as one of my major movie highlights of the year but there's nothing to complain about.
The animals were all highlights for me, especially the mice. Loved all of the transformations, the dress sequence was stunning! Kenneth Branagh did a good job, I don't think it needed to be darker. Richard Madden makes a great prince and I also loved the short appearance of Rob Brydon. Cate was good although she isn't as fabulous as Christine Baranski. 'Frozen Fever' was nice too with the new song. |

Saw this on Friday, it was brilliant, so good that after the film I went to the disney store and bought a little stuffed toy gus
Didn't think much of frozen fever though, thought that was a bit of a let down, may be because it wasn't on for very long |

Saw this today. Very solid effort. I loved the Stepsister/mother parts a lot. Their interactions with Cinderella were done extremely well. It didn't do much to stand out as a movie overall but I do think it was an entertaining adaptation of a story we all know too well.
It was probably better than Snow White for me(which I actually didn't mind). And was leagues better than the awful Maleficent which might be my least favourite film of 2014. High hopes for Beauty and The Beast now! (Oh and I found Frozen Fever veerrrrrry disappointing - which is a shame) This post has been edited by Joe.: Mar 29 2015, 09:52 PM |

Loved this, the script and direction was perfect and the acting was also fantastic Lily James was perfect as Cinderella, Richard Madden was surprisingly good as the prince and Cate slayed as usual The animal transformations and the fairy godmother's scenes were my favourite, so amazing. Definitely one of my favourites so far this year
Also adored the new frozen short, so fun and good and I am absolutely in love with that song |

I thought it was pretty good and so was Frozen Fever. I'm still surprised Helena Bonham-Carter decided to star in the film as it's directed by her ex-husband seeing as she's stopped appearing in Tim Burton's films for that reason

Just finished watching this and another excellent film from Disney, these live-action remakes are a fantastic idea. Not sure if this was as good as Maleficent just because that seemed more exciting but this makes me even more excited for Beauty and the Beast and the TWO upcoming Jungle Books, especially the latter with two very strong cast lists (even if they are mainly voice roles), Mulan too if we eventually get that.
Haven't seen it mentioned in this thread but The Fairy Godmother was easily the best character for me, it's a shame we didn't get to see more of her outside of one little scene, Helena's delivery of her lines is always so strong, my favourite was 'grow any watermelons? Kumquats?' |
