Zara Larsson enters straight at number one!
Congratulations to Zara Larsson, who enters straight at number one with Lush Life. The 17 year-old previously hit #3 with MNEK on Never Forget You, which slides 3 places this week, but Lush Life is her first number one single here. After sliding four places to #5 last week, Coming Home rebounds three places to take second place. With Life out today, a return to number one could be on the cards. Another track whose hitting number one wouldn't be unlikely is Secret Love Song, which is a non-mover at #3. Meanwhile, last week's number one, Sweet Lovin', slides three places to #4. It is officially released this week, so could it hit number one officially? After setting three straight number ones, Blonde debut at #8 with Cast A Spell, which, amusingly, enters exactly a year after I Loved You debuted at number one (well not exactly a year, but this time last year Blonde debuted at number one with I Loved You). How ironic that the song with started the trend came a full year before the one who bucked it. If that isn't quite clear, it doesn't currently look as if Cast A Spell will continue in the steps of I Loved You, All Cried Out and Feel Good (It's Alright) in hitting number one. Whether this is a Stop! and they will continue to hit number one in future, or a Welcome To The Pleasuredome and the start to a downfall, we will see. The rest of the top 10: Over And Over Again falls a place to #5, Hello slides four places to #6, and Love Me Like You moves down a spot to #7. Weird People remains static at #9, and Eyes Shut falls 3 places to #10. Other entries If You Leave Me Now debuts at #18, despite having only a day. It subsequently outpeaks Better Love, which peaked at #32. Whether it can beat Body Talk remains to be seen. With its ascent to #1 and Louisa Johnson's slightly-underwhelming performance of it on The X Factor, Love Yourself is a new entry at #91. The final new entry is +1 by Martin Solveig feat. Sam White, which arrives the week his previous hit, Intoxicated, departs. Can +1 outpeak Intoxicated? Probably not, but it can try. It's that time of the year again, and we have five Christmas songs in the chart: Fairytale Of New York, which ascends 23 places to #15, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, which jumps 32 places to #50, All I Want For Christmas Is You, which re-enters at #82, Merry Christmas Everyone, which re-enters at #86, and Merry Xmas Everybody, which enters at #92. After Louisa Johnson's sensational performance of it on The X Factor, Jealous climbs 34 places to #60. |
