I saw the trailer to this last night... it looks incredibly tense and there's a heavy sense of nostalgia added to it!
A lot of places saying it's a "must watch". |

I've been looking forward to this for a while and that trailer is great.
Has a very Spielbergian feel to it |

Finally just finished it all. Absolutely brilliant! Such a fantastically fresh and extremely nostalgic show. It's like a mix of 'E.T.' meets 'Stand By Me' meets 'Alien' meets 'Super 8'! So 80's but very well done!

Completely agree Jonjo, utterly brilliant!
I binge-watched it all within a couple of days earlier this week. I think I might give it a second viewing, I enjoyed it that much! Will see if my Dad will watch it with me, he should enjoy it given that he likes sci-fi. The show really is a perfect homage to certain 80s movies/TV shows, with the countless references and little details. Superb cast too, didn't consider any of the characters to be a weak link. Winona. |

I echo the above, seriously incredible show so far and I'm only three episodes in! It really doesn't feel like a 2016 show as it has so many homages in it, it's almost like a John Carpenter imagining of a Stephen King novel, it works so well though and every scene feels worth it, something you couldn't say about various contemporary shows today.

I've only for the finale to go now!
Going to be gutted when it ends. I've loved the pacing, setting and characters. My favourite part is all the Star Wars references - so darn good! |

Gonna give this a go after I finish Shades of Blue, I love Winona Ryder and really glad to see her back in the limelight.

Finally finished - just an all-round awesome show. Anyone who likes TV should give this a shot, there's a real mix of everything. It's really scary in parts, but it balances itself out with light-hearted drama. It's a real strength that we see everything through the characters eyes and we're left with a satisfying ending, but more questions (and hopefully a season 2!).
Winona Ryder has all the star power for this, and I'm sure it's the reason a lot og people are watching/intrigued. While she is very good and believable in this, the best aspect abut the show is the four lead child actors. All of them are magnificent, the highlight being the girl who plays Eleven. How sad was it when Eleven 'sacraficed' herself to protect the boys. Not gonna lie, I definitely thought the catapult defeated the monster for a good few seconds |

This was absolutely amazing, I'm so disappointed that I've finished the series. Best thing I've seen this year I think.

Why are you keeping this curiosity door locked? is one of the lines of the series.

A second season is currently in the works, according to the creators of the show! Apparently, it would be a continuation of this story. I must admit I thought this show would've worked as a kind of anthology series like American Horror Story with a different 'strange' story every time, but I don't doubt that there's probably a lot that can still be explored in this storyline that the finale didn't answer (The 'Upside-Down' surely has more in it than just one monster for one and then you have what's going on with Hopper, what's happening to Will and of course, if Eleven is actually dead)
Watched the final episode last night, needless to say, absolutely fantastic, it got it so spot on emotionally as well as thrillingly and keeping up the tension. The final 15 minutes were so tear jerking </3 This post has been edited by Chez Wombat: 29th July 2016, 01:51 PM |

I *knew* the show was something special when I saw the opening credits for the first time. The entire season was so well done. |

I watched this almost in one sitting. Incredible tv. Dustin and Joyce were by far the best characters there. Winona's acting is phenomenal. Can't wait for season two.

This was Absolutely fantastic. Around episode 4 I kind of lost interest and caught up at episode 7 and the last episodes were amazing so I guess I'll give it another bash soon! Apparently a season 2 is in the works so you for that too!
