The Timberland production has definitely ensured that it's remained relevant with younger audiences as songs like 'Promiscuous' and 'SexyBack' are still hugely popular. There's a slight disconnect when it comes to the fans, likely because we know Madonna to be someone who discovers new ways of producing commercial sounds and genres rather than adopting an already successful style. The general public aren't that bothered.

You're right, it does tend to get a hard time from some on Buzzjack - I think we can sometimes have too high an expectation of Madonna when really we should appreciate a song for what it is. To me, '4 Minutes' is a really well-produced song and there's a reason it resonates well with the public.
