Poor 'Happy Ending' not appearing 'Rain' is a great and underrated track of his though. His career died off after 'We Are Golden' really!

Poor Happy Ending ended at 15th , but it did go top 20 for me, just had 8 weeks on the chart so ended up lower. It's weird how pop stars are flavour of the month and then suddenly not, I've never really ever got used to the fickleness of success - if there's a drop in quality I can see why, but often it's just people moving on to the next thing, or lack of radio play. |

I approve of the Confessions of a Dancefloor heavy Madge list, what an album! My second favourite only behind Ray Of Light.
I think 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' was the first Manics song I ever came across (was only 9 or 10 when that came out) but it was an instantly positive first impression, nice to see that topping your list for them! Since then I've discovered far more and 'A Design For Life' would be my favourite of their singles. I need to work through their albums! 'We Belong Together' was such a grower for me, now a Mariah essential. The build-up to *those* final notes is breath-taking. That Mark Ronson list... wow, the quality 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart' is my favourite by him too and also challenges for my top Miley song. 'The Bike Song' was such a quirky chart hit but sadly feels pretty forgotten now. |

Confessions was top-notch Madge for me too, Ray Of Light and Like A Prayer being my other faves. True Blue is also fun. The Manics can be a bit hit and miss for me, but when they hit the spot they go for fabulous. Saw them in concert back in the day (as I did Madonna, 4 times). My absolute top track from Manics is If You Tolerate This, but Design For Life is up there with Motorcycle Emptiness and a couple of other 90's tracks for me. Thanks for the comments! |

Won't complain about 'Party In The USA' that far down for you. Never really liked that one. Some early but fun pop tracks in '7 Things' & 'Fly On The Wall' there. 'Midnight Sky' an undeniable modern day pop classic on top

'Midnight Sky' an undeniable modern day pop classic on top I have to admit I was surprised to find out I rated so much of her early stuff, I've not heard any of those 00's hits since so they don't spring to mind as much as her first number one songs even though I liked them much more. Just heard Dolly Parton's cover of Wrecking Ball and it's pretty decent actually, with added Miley, so the "chart sales" from that will be added to Miley's original as she's on it and it'll start climbing the list shortly. |
