Real Madrid have sacked their manager Carlo Ancelotti after two seasons.

He won the Spanish Cup with them last season and completed the 'La Decima' with victory in the Champions League last season.

This year they were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus in the semi-finals, finished 2nd in the La Liga. They won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Where now for Ancelotti?

Who do you think will take over at Real Madrid?

Zidane?

Benítez, Emery or Klopp. Zidane has had a poor year managing the reserves and isn't ready yet.

Harsh but not surprising. One year trophyless at Real Madrid is sacrilege to the guys at the top.

I really hope he doesn't just wash up at Man City. Just trolls all the teams with big bank balances.

Zidane is the sensible choice.

As long as he takes Kevin Nolan with him and builds the team around him laugh.gif

The Real Madrid president is so ungrateful, he has a track record of not standing by managers. He did the same thing in 2003 with Vicente Del Bosque despite them winning the Champions League in the previous season.

Jorge Jesus would be a decent choice after two back to back titles with Benfica.

Rafa's season at Napoli hasn't been easy. I don't know if they'll want to take that punt on him.

Jesus is actually a really good call.

Looking almost certain that Rafa Bentiez will be appointed as the new manager of Real Madrid after he finishes his season with Napoli on Sunday.

Rafa is an awful shout. Can't see him lasting any longer than Ancelotti did there.

Rafa's great. He's a winner, he will do fine there, plus he's gone home. Needs to take advantage of the fact Barcelona can't buy any players this summer (not like he will have much say in the transfers though!). But not a long term appointment that's for sure.

If he lasts longer than Ancelotti, that will be impressive by Real Madrid standards. He would practically be part of the furniture by then. Of course, his dossier on Barcelona will be entertaining biggrin.gif

I'll give Rafa a season at least providing he actually wins something and performs well in the La Liga.

Don't think it will be Klopp as he wants to take a six-month break apparently according to media reports.

Rafael Bentiez has confirmed that he will be leaving Napoli after their final game of the season on Sunday. Looking very likely he will move to Real Madrid.

Sorry but replacing Ancelotti with Benitez? Don't get that at all...

To be fair though do you really have to do much to manage Real or Barca? I imagine 99% of half-time team talks are just "keep it up lads" laugh.gif

As expected. Rafa Bentiez has been officially announced as the new manager of Real Madrid on a three-year contract. I'll give him a year if he doesn't win anything.
